Kalaba: Feet off the ground as he refuses to honour Zamalek deal and stays in Ndola

These past few weeks I have been trying to come to terms with numerous events surrounding Zambian football.

Of course, there are issues of vultures surrounding Emmanuel Mbola’s curtailed transfer to England, Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) failing to organize a friendly on FIFA calendar days last week with unsettled Zambia coach Herve Renard still in the news with his open secret of wanting a better job elsewhere and the persistent petitions at the scandal prone Football House.

Kalusha, Sunday Nkonde differ over Simataa’s suspension

March 10th, 2010 81 comments

Confusion reigns over Simataa...Kalusha's executive's decision to ban Simataa has been overturned by Sunday Nkonde S.C, the FAZ disciplinary committee chairperson... but Kalusha has reportedly challenged Nkonde to resign if he did not like the decison as the FAZ boss maintains Simataa ban still in force.

In  a dramatic twist of events, Football Assocaition of Zambia (FAZ) disciplinary committee chairperson Sunday Nkonde SC has nullified the FAZ executive committee ban on Simataa Simataa saying the decision to suspend the vocal Amakumbi boss was unconstitutional.

But FAZ boss Kalusha Bwalya has maintained that Simataa remains banned as Nkonde had no power to over rule the FAZ executive and dared the State Counsel to resign if he was not happy with the decision to suspend the former interim president of FAZ at one time.

S.C Nkonde disclosed the lifting of the suspension  yesterday in response to a letter by Simataa who sought clarification over his suspension which was also copied to underfire FAZ Secretary General George Kasengele.
Nkonde  who served Zambia as Solicitior-General for six years said the decison to ban Simataa who is also Zambia Football Coaches Association (ZAFCA) from football activities was unconstitutional as the FAZ executive committee did not have powers to suspend any official as reported in the Post quoted extensively here.
