Hichani Himonde is on the move; Is it T.P Mazembe or Europe?

The Football Association of Zambia, FAZ announced that the local transfer window is now open and will close in March, most probably when the 2010 KCM Premier League will kick off.

Champions Zanaco who edged out fellow big spenders Zesco United for the league title thanks to superior goal difference have already hit the ground and set  camp in  Mongu were Coach Wedson Nyirenda has set up a two weeks camp while Zescolo will be begin it’s preparation on January 11.

In addition to early preps, ‘Wadda Wadda’ has made over 8 signings and it will be interesting to see    how his first starting lineup against Uganda Revenue Authority in the CAF Champions League will look like in February.

With the bankers going for the ‘Best of the Best’ from the local league, Zesco decided to go abroad once more…a move which has back fired in the past. Read more…

Zambian players abroad: Jacob and Donwell scores brace; Kalaba back at Braga

FC Utrecht new signing Jacob Mulenga got off the mark in an impressive fashion in a pre-season friendly when he scored a second half brace in his side’s 5-1 defeat of FC Zwolle on Saturday afternoon at the Zeudonbalch Sports Complex and Rainford Kalaba is back at SP Braga from his season long loan deal at second division Gil Vicente where he impressed. The Zambia International a summer signing from French Ligue two strugglers FC Chatteroux was in a class of his own when he played as a twin striker with Ricky pierce van Wolfswinkel in his side’s first victory in pre-season friendlies. RB gives Chicken a Toyota Hilux

Zambian-born and National team assistant coach George ‘Chiken’ Lwandamina has finally been given an incentive-a Toyota Hilux double cab (not in the picture) by the Republican President H.E Rupiah Banda, it has been reported in the local media.

This was after a public out cry after the Green Buffaloes mentor was omitted by the First Minerals Quantum ‘donation’ which only saw the two French expatriates; Herve Renard and Patrice Beamulle handed similar cars last week.
