The NCAA University season kicked off last weekend, and the Farleigh Dickinson Knights made their intentions known with a come-from-behind 3-1 victory over Manhattan.
Sammy Maljani, in his first competitive game since a knee injury forced him to miss all of last season, scored the equalizing goal in the 27th minute. Receiving the ball in the midfield, Malijani ran past the charging goalkeeper, and fired the ball into the net from 25 yards.

Big up to Francis Kasonde and i can only encourage him to keep on working hard, who knows?may be he can be recalled to the national team, there is still hope for “France”,if Billy can be recalled am sure the same can be the case for him.
And congrats to our forgotten sons in Finland,i always wonder how Nchimunya Mweetwa has managed to stay this long that side,i hope he is not the same “chingalika” type of player???

Kalaba threatens Braga officials that he will terminate the contract and sign for anotha club as he was nt recalled for preseason training,he further complains that the club didnt give him enough time to prove his worth.will the contract be terminated by mutual consent?will Braga compensate him 4 the remainder part of the contract or maybe it will be him 2 suffer the worst. . .Zamfoot shade more light

@ The Doctor. I talked to Kalu at length about this. The advise he had given Kalaba’s agent is to talk to FC Braga and negotiate from him to be released. This was because the club loaned him out for two consecutive seasons. The other worry was how the agent allowed him to be signed on a long contract. I don’t see Kalaba making such threats because he knows he is contracted to Braga. For now he is toothless. The rae two year remaining and imagine the standoff drags on. Very sad indeed and hope Bamupa willsee a way out but not threats definitely.

Something must be done for Kalaba, Guyz if there proper football managers lets help this lad. of course He is agood player if this season elapses without playing that will be disastras for him. Its better to play in south Africa or Zambia than not playing.
The other thing which I saw when Zambia played Comoros Felix.K,the lad trully plays for mother Zambia when it comes to playing to His club I do not see such skills but for mother Zambia He give in 95% to the game.

If its true that Kalaba thinks he has the capacity to throw threats at Braga then he is a bigger fool than I ever thought he was. Who is the bigger threat the guy with the twin barrel shotgun pointed at you or you with your little .22 pistol. Braga have bigger guns and just like they have already done becuase of his foolishness they can inflict further serious damage to his career. If this is true then this kid has a cement hard head on his shoulders, THREATEN BRAGA!!!!!!!! They can swing this story up and down for two years and the only soccer he will see is the national team seeing they insist on playing him. By the way the money at the national team is sorry to say peanuts. This must be a case of the party money running out now he has to make a move and he decides first and foremost to issue a threat. If its true Kalu is advising for a release we all know were the story will head if the release is granted. Mwaiche weigh your options and also weigh the advise even if its from people like Kalu before you make another stuoid move.
Congrats Francis, that what we want, players that put Zambia on the footbaling map. There is a new coach in the house so work hard and get back into the fold of things at the national team.

@ Bonaventure HE WAS ACTUALLY ON znbc NEWS LAST NIGHT CLAIMING HW WILL RESIGN FROM BRAGA
Jimmy Tembo on Tue, 7th Sep 2010 10:45 AM
@ Gerogia Russia, We do indeed need that. BUT, the moment such a facility happens, some people will, not even some people, Mukoka from the post will start to witch hunt and call people big fish. It is an all round problem that lives us questioning the role of agents with whom to some extent, it is felt that they are blood sucking ticks. So many players have signed lucrative deals before, played in big leagues and travelled the world only to still retire or die as destitutes. I think such initiatives must be above soccer alone, we need especially us as Zambians to come out of this stigma of living life on a survival mode. A lenghty discussion I had with my Zambian friends made us agree on the fact that we are easily satisfied with being avarage people (on the same breath I recomend a book called an AN ENEMY CALLED AVARAGE by John Mason). It scares me that despite a succesful career, Denis Lota was a few months ago running from the bank who were looking to reposess a Tata car. Many players have only soccer jeseys and Kick Off magazine pictures to show there past success. We need soccer academies that will also coach life skills, how many of our past players have come to join professional organisations after there playing days apart from being coaches. Yet there is so much that could be done, E.g sport presenting, sport journalist. We have got to find an element in us that will make us want more, West Africans have succeeded more when they migrate to Europe and America respectively, is it there past severe experiance with slavery that has made them more goal getting and past it from generations to generations. Those in marketing will agree that Soweto or South Africa is more salable to the west than Zambia and Malawi put together because of it`s history. If that applies to soccer I do not know. However, if there is a point of sale from any Zambian then it should be their sense of humour. Take that as a weapon, forget about just blending in and try to kick some ass every where you go, soccer or not, then we might be heading somewhere.

Big Steve Mudala spare us, yaba my ribs are in trouble, you have made my day, on a serious note though our players need to learn to be professionals and not spoilt little kids when they are fast reaching their best before dates. Its sad to note that the want to pretend that they know it all, thats why there are advisors to chaps like rooney and all those stars who know that they dont have the know how in managing their own affairs, unfortunately our player think every one advising them wants a cut shameful, Kasonde big up keep being focused

Big Steve from SA on Wed, 8th Sep 2010 8:41 AM
@ emmanuel imwe naimwe stop boring us with sorry to say nonsense speculation. Big Steve is Stephen living and working in Joburg for years and years, Mukoka is some journalist from the post in Lusaka, Zambia. You are the one that has lost the plot, you are the one the needs to open your eyes and watch the space.
