The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has abruptly cancelled the Under-20 national teams’ training camp in Lusaka due to administrative lapses and are expected to regroup next week.Football House has cancelled Young Chipolopolo’s training camp just two days after going into camp at the FAZ Technical Centre in Lusaka on Sunday to prepare for their CAF Africa Youth Championship first-leg, qualifier at home against Mauritius on July 24.
FAZ spokesperson Emmanuel Munaile disclosed in an interview yesterday that the coaching bench had not yet also even received appointment letters and therefore could not drill the team.
“The camp has been cancelled because there are administrative issues that were overlooked. Look the coaches have not yet received their appointment letters so that needs to be addressed,” Munaile said.
He said that the clubs where the players in camp came from had not also been officially informed of the national assignment.
“We have some players with the national team but their teams have not been informed. We need to write to the clubs and inform them that their players have been earmarked for national duty,” Munaile said.
Munaile also said there was no need to conduct trails where there were already players available in the age group.
He added: “We can also look at some at Under-17 that can go in Under-20.”
The Under-20 team under Keegan Mumba went into residential camp on Sunday and trained on Monday morning before abruptly breaking camp yesterday.
Meanwhile, Mumba said that the team was expected to regroup on Sunday, June 20 with a 30-member team after all administrative issues are resolved.
Recently FAZ announced changes to various national teams with Lucky Msiska and Wedson Nyirenda named as Under-23 coaches with Mumba elevated from assistant to Under-20 trainer.

These people are very surprising. How can such a thing happen when we have full time people in office? What are they paid for? This is just nosense and should not be accepted.

You recruit someone and he starts work and then on his second day you say we have not issued letters of appointment. Surely people at FAZ has attained a modicum level of education to enable them do things right. We ushered into a critical office people with no iota of administration because hardly a month passes without some form of drama coming from Football House.

If Munaile thinks Zambian soccer FANS are fools then he must be an idiot. How can he come up such a crap. Munaile let me tell you one thing ” YOU ARE NOT FIT TO BE VICE PRESIDENT OF FAZ, PLEASE RESIGN AND LET SOMEONE WITH TOMPWE TAKE UP THAT POSITION”. Oh my GOD

What is going on Ba Faz, this is supposed to be the future of Zambian football and there you are proudly telling Zambians how incompetant you are. Are you for real? Surely you the administrative lapse could have been dealt with retrospectively without derailing the training camp? Is there more to this than meets the eye?
