Players Abroad: Tembo man of the match, Njobvu sets up winner

March 29, 2010

motm tembo

Tunisia

Fwayo Tembo’s performance for Etoile du Sahel earned him the Player of the Game, as voted on by the clubs supporters for the match against JS Kairouan. Tembo scored in the 38th minute, in the 2-0 victory.

Sweden

In the Svenska Cup, Ljungskile SK were victorious 2-1 on the road at 4th tier club Gunnilse IS. Edwin Phiri played the entire 90 minutes at left-back. He also received a yellow card in the 87th minute.

****

Boyd Mwila, has been loaned out to Superettan (2nd tier) side FC Trollhattan, from Orgryte IS (who are in the same division), for the entire season. They play a cup match mid-week against 5th tier side Holmalunds IF.

Germany

Arminia Bielefeld were dominated 4-1 by Energie Cottbus, who climbed out of the relegation zone. Chris Katongo played 90 minutes at forward, his best chance came in the 24th minute as he headed a ball in the centre of the box, but it went just left of the post.

He drew two fouls, but was caught offside twice, and committed five fouls of his own, eventually leading to a yellow card in the 62nd minute.

****

It wasn’t pretty for FC Augsburg either, losing 4-0 to Alemania Aachen, despite having the majority of possesion (57%) and more then twice as many attempts on target (17-7).  Andrew Sinkala was in the midfield for Augsburg, committing two fouls, and receiving a yellow card in the 76th minute.

Augsburg drop from second to third, by a 2-point deficit, leaving them in a promotion playoff place with 6 matches to go.

—–

Netherlands

Jacob Mulenga played the entire match at his usual forward position for FC Utrecht as they defeated last-place RKC Waalwijk, 2-0.

—–

Israel

William Njobvu set-up the only goal of the match for Hapoel Kiryat Shmona in the 56th minute, sending them to a 1-0 victory, and widening the gap atop the second division standings.

*****

Justine Zulu played 90 minutes for Hapoel Bnei Lod in the central midfield, they drew 0-0.

****

In the top division, Emmanuel Mayuka was at striker for Maccabi Tel Aviv, and played an intregal part in their only goal of the match. Unfortunately the opponents, Ashdod, scored 3. The Tel Aviv side remain in 3rd place, by 4 points, which would give them a Europa League spot for next season.

—–

France

Jonas Sakuwaha has recovered from injury, and played 90 minutes for Lorient’s reserve side as they won 2-1 against Monduville.

Its encouraging to hear that a legion of Zambian players playing well, hard working, though the yellow cards despite being a sign of hard working shows they have no fair play mentality.
There is another Zambian in Bristol by the name of Mulenga mutemwakwenda who is doing very well with his club but their is no one to bring him in spot light. Can the crew do something about this young lad?

Am glad Fwayo is doing wel on the pitch once again and i can only wish him the very best for now and better days to come.
Its equally gratifying to learn that Saku has recovered and played for 90 minutes, all the best to him as wel as he fights for a first team place.
The guys in Israel are doing fine as wel for zamfoot and they are destined for greater things if they continue working hard because there is no substitute for hardwork.
Things seem not to be favouring C.K and my wish is that he doesnt do a ka S.A return next season.

    @nsomba

This boy needs to be monitored but I just wonder who is going to do that. We have Charles Musonda’s kids at Anderlect who have been ignored by FAZ, so even this boy will be ignored like others

lelo12 :@Justice Kafusha Do you honestly think Kalu can allow the kids to charles musonda to be a part to the National Team.

I can’t imagine that, but I feel it is a pity that Musondas boys have to suffer just because of the misunderstanding between Kalu and Chali. Anyway I know how this all started and who is at faulty but it is better to be silent otherwise we are going to have supporters of some selv proclaimed big fish on our necks

It is just a pity for Zambian football that one individual has to decide everything

You are very right, but how will we keep quite for the things that we know very to be correct, lets avoid making certain pipo big headed for nothing

Man ceasor :Players shouldnt b called 2da national team coz of their dad or mum bt prove dat they cn deliver.

Some players are called to the under17/20/23 because they know some FAZ officials. A good example is the under17 that went into camp recently with a view of playing South Africa. Coach Chiyangi called in 36 players but on the first camp day 45 players reported, thus 9 more than the intial number. Some FAZ officials had sent these players. This speaks volumes

Charles Musonda’s boys are doing very fine and are better than most of those players who earn call ups, and this is the truth

  17. Justice Kafusha on Mon, 29th Mar 2010 5:55 PM

    Charles Musondas sons at Anderlect

Tyka Musonda (plays for the under16)
Lamisha Musonda (plays for the under 19)

Why not monitor them and give them a chance. Apart from the 2 we have many young Zambian players around Europe who need to be monitored and given a chance to prove themselves. We should not wait until they break in the first teams in the countries they are playing as that will be too late. Lamisha’s teammate Lukaku has just broken into the Anderlect first team at 18 years. I watched lhim play last weekend and he even scored a goal. He is Zairean but has never been approached by DRC hence his choice to play for Belgium if called up on

Am sure one was eating the other’s chick or reporting lies about the other or simply jealousy of the other, like Abedi Pele and Anthony Yeboa
