Blog: Has the Zambian star footballers’ fashionable AWOL bug smitten Rainford Kalaba?

Kalaba

Kalaba: Feet off the ground as he refuses to honour Zamalek deal and stays in Ndola

These past few weeks I have been trying to come to terms with numerous events surrounding Zambian football.

Of course, there are issues of vultures surrounding Emmanuel Mbola’s curtailed transfer to England, Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) failing to organize a friendly on FIFA calendar days last week with unsettled Zambia coach Herve Renard still in the news with his open secret of wanting a better job elsewhere and the persistent petitions at the scandal prone Football House.

But on Monday, 8th March, 2010, a story in the Times of Zambia left my mouth agape. Kalaba u-turns was the title and I will pick a few quotes from that revelation in trying to come to terms with Rainford Kalaba’s cantankerous maneuvers.

The case of Rainford Kalaba makes a compelling read laced with enigma.

Many soccer fans still inebriated with the Chipolopolo boys with a sniff of success of a sort at the just ended Africa Cup of Nations were awoken from their stupor by revelations that one of their star performers had just signed for Egyptian giants Zamalek.

The hangover was over. Rainford Kalaba had stepped a stair down from Europe to North Africa. The Rainford who many people including myself rate highly and hope can walk the coveted corridors of international football.  Shocking as it was, for me this was a necessary evil. Kalaba had to bring his bench warming behavior to an end.

Portugal has proved not to be a bed roses for Zambian players in the past. The likes of Perry Mutapa and Collins Mbesuma can tell of their own odysseys in the land of a certain Cristiano Ronaldo.

Kalaba on the books of Portuguese top flight high fliers SP Braga, until 2013, has failed to hold down a regular place at the Lisbon based side since signing for them  and has had two loan spells; first at second tier side Gil Vincente, which was highly successful and secondly, this season at top division Uniao De Leiria.

kalaba-gil

Kalaba was an instant hit at Gil Vincente

Vincente wanted to hold on to him but Braga believing in his wonderful talent recalled him from the loan spell, only for them to surprisingly ship him out again to Uniao De Leiria.

At Uniao, the Afrisports groomed playmaker was restricted to only 3 cameo roles from the bench.

Something must be wrong with Kalaba in terms of his discipline. He is a fantastic talent without a doubt. His Angola AFCON performances suggest he can be anything he wants in the higher echelons of world football.

To achieve that, cavorting with skirts and brown bottles at the expense of his football must be dreaded with disdain like a deadly disease by the diminutive midfielder cum winger. Otherwise, soon he could be a song of the past.

Am astounded that after signing for Zamalek, which for me, if it is for reasons of getting regular game time, is not a very bad move at all, the player has decided to engage in revelry in Ndola whilst citing contractual disputes with Zamalek.

The Egyptian league is very respectable. No wonder even their national team is replete with players from there and it is the best on the continent. Amr Zaki and Ahmed  ‘Mido’Hassan both no strangers to Kalaba and Zambians made  moves back home after staling in their careers in England not too long ago.

The twosome is now back in England after a short sojourn at Egyptian clubs. So the 6 month loan deal signed by Kalaba is not necessarily a death sentence.

Kalaba’s indiscretions on the Copperbelt had forced Zamalek to issue him an ultimatum to report for duty or face heavy fines. He did not heed the call. The writing was clear on the war. Egyptians do not condone riotous behavior.

egypt

Shehata brooks no nonsense from his Egypt star players

Even in their national team, Coach Hassan Shehata has put issues of discipline in black and white (Egypt’s success is there to see even for a blind eye). You do not cross certain lines. Some scintillating stars like Mohammed Zidane and Mido have had to watch from the sidelines when their discipline has been called into question in the past as Egypt played.

Shehata, recently,  when asked how he would deal with the unsavory and salacious revelations of John Terry and Ashley Cole’s private lives as the African Champions prepared to face England in an international friendly at Wembley  was categorical in his answer: the duo would not make the Egyptian national side if they hailed from the Arabic country.

It is not surprising that Zamalek have closed the chapter on Kalaba. The North African giants will now demand a refund of their $100 000 or something like that paid for the services of the Zambia international from Braga it has been reported.

His agents have now been detailed to find Kalaba and take him to Portugal where Braga music awaits him am sure. And he says he cannot honour the contract since he did not get any penny from it.

What a disgrace the whole affair has turned out to be.

Braga want him back in PortugalFirst, it was reported Kalaba had delayed to join Zamalek because he was picking up his ‘stuff’ in Portugal. Then we heard reported assurances from Kalaba that he would join the Cairo side but to no avail. Now we are hearing that he has vehemently refused to honour his contract with Zamalek because he is not happy with certain terms in the contract he claims he signed under duress and in haste.

‘’I have decided to withdraw the contract (to Zamalek) because I was pressured to sign. I didn’t read through the contract. I discovered something I was not happy with.’’

What is that Mr Rainford Kalaba?

‘’I cannot state that right now’’ he is quoted in Ndola telling the Times crew this week who managed to catch up with him in Ndeke Township.

He has given very flimsy reasons before in relation to this matter and cannot even reveal his ‘macabre’ find in the contract to his handlers who he is reportedly dodging.

His local manager Gabriel Kaunda had earlier been reported to have failed to get in touch with Kalaba as the Braga star was constantly changing his mobile numbers.

We even heard from the grapevine that he was now angling for a loan move to Zesco United where he is training as he stated that he would not return to Braga until August to find out whether they still wanted him or not. Iyee!

I would be interested to find out what sort of duress Kalaba was put through when signing that now pitiful piece of paper he disdains. Was he blindfolded when signing it? Was it at gun point? Was it written in Arabic? Was he made to take a bucket full of  liquor and made to sign in haste?  The questions beg to be answered. Ahmed Soweilam the agent widely quoted handling the affairs of the 23 year old must be put in the box.

If Kalaba was duped into the White Knight deal while Al Ahly lurked, then his agents must be issued with an arrest warrant for trying to murder or sabotage a Zambian talent’s career. The agents and their accomplices in this deal must be brought to courts of justice as soon as they are sighted anywhere. I will gladly put a handsome ransom on their heads.

Otherwise, it is inconceivable that Kalaba is moaning about the Zamalek contract that he must have considered before putting pen to paper.

This can dent his image.  I cannot fathom in what light the Egyptians are now seeing Kalaba and Zambian footballers in general.  This uncalled for conduct will not amuse Braga in the least bit as well. It is indiscipline.  And Kalaba could be wallowing in troubled water with Braga. He could be in big, big trouble.

Ill-discipline and professionalism can never and will never be chamber mates. They will always be at daggers drawn and anybody who attempts to unify or marry them in himself can only come to ruin.

Whatever excuse there is on the part of Rainford, he better pack his bags and head to Cairo or Portugal or else he will regret big time one day.

kalababraga

Kalaba with Gabriel Kaunda signing for Braga in March 2008. Kaunda is reportedly failing to contact Kalaba

His dad, Rainford Senior, said as much in  the Times story, arguing that it was still better for Kalaba to go to Egypt than just training with Zesco United fearing that his son would lose form due to a prolonged absence from competitive football.

‘’Match fitness is different from just being fit and since he is a man now, we can only advise and hope his decision works out or he gets to learn something from this,’’

Kalaba senior. a seasoned football person himself, reasoned and his words sound like that of a man whose advice has fallen on deaf ears.

Mr Rainford Kalaba is absent from work without official leave (AWOL) and is seriously jeopardizing his career. This is a fact.

Examples abound for him here in Zambia of players who were on the verge of being stellar stars whose shine threatened to illuminate the soccer scene but was blown away before breaking out. Today those ‘could have beens’ and a handful ‘were beens’ are a sorry sight.

I repeat with discipline, Kalaba is a wonder who can walk into any team in the world! He has great technical ability and is supremely gifted.  But let him not dally with disaster.

I know he has some bit of cash but that money should not go to his head. Many people have said Kalaba is a regular at many a watering hole in Ndola and other pleasure spots in Zambia. It was reported last week that he was spotted in Chifubu Township in the company of his pals having some drinks (beer) and earlier at Baluba Motel on the Ndola-Kitwe dual carriageway having fun with friends and only left when some people expressed surprise at his presence in the country. People are genuinely concerned about his welfare.

Listen to Kalaba argument as he argued that he was aware of the ills of uncensored social life:

‘’Well, I’m still the same player. I have not changed. I can have fun when I want to, and no one can stop me from drinking beer because I also have a private life to lead.’’

It is not about people trying to poke their noses in his business, it is a loved public figure, a son of this same soil, disappointing their faith in him.

Kalaba has refused to go to Cairo and he is not in Portugal. He is on the Copperbelt.  And those trying to contact him including Braga reportedly are failing.

But he maintains that he has been in touch with the Portuguese top league second placed side:

‘’I cannot go back now because I will not be allowed to play. I can only be allowed to play next season which starts in August. I have been communicating with my manager as I have a contract until 2012.’’

There is no information Braga has given him leave to remain in Zambia no wonder they want him in Portugal pronto.

Has anybody ever heard of a player signing a contract with pubs, beers or women?

Zambian players, I will insist, are supremely gifted but it is their discipline that is a let down.

Should we be referring to them as Ufipuba fwesu? Anyway, like Rainford senior said, these are adults.

I hope Herve Renard, back from his unsuccessful job hunting with teams going to the World Cup and elsewhere whoever cares, if he stays as Zambia manager, will no longer pick players that do not feature for their clubs.

Mr. Collins Mbesuma has been pardoned by his club, Moroka Swallows after his own AWOL following the AFCON in Angola and scored a gem of a goal in the CAF club competition recently.

Zwane-Mbesuma_2387657

Mbesuma was reportedly told to be disciplined or lose his Moroka Swallows place

But his behaviour too seems to suggest discipline and some Zambian players do not see eye to eye.

Moroka Swallows boss Rainer Zobel, unsurprisingly, had handed the South African PSL record goal scorer an ultimatum to shape up or ship out. Mbesuma has been handed so many chances in his career. If he is thrown out at Swallows, that will be the beginning of an end to his football career.

Mr. Mbesuma like Mr. Kalaba, is a fantastic talent but he has a tendency to shoot himself in his magical left foot at times. He does not need Zobel telling him that the German does not play reputations for the Luanshya bred to keep his feet on the ground. He needs to mature.

Look at Wayne Rooney. The Manchester United goal machine, at one time was in the news for wrong reasons but now is a superstar after taming his wild ways.

Zambia national soccer team will continue to struggle if such are the players we will be relying upon.  It might be not easy to maintain the team that is a work in progress after the Angola 2010 if these players do not maintain themselves.

zambia

Can Zambia rise to higher heights with indisciplined stars?

It is no longer a wonder that Zambian players that start promisingly never hit the high heights that other African players reach.

fwayo ESS

Good boy Fwayo: back in business

It is refreshing to note that Fwayo Tembo another player who had been beleaguered with discipline issues has been given a new lease of life at Tunisian glamour side Etoile Du Sahel after a lengthy and ‘drinky’ AWOL in Zambia and is scoring goals.

For Tembo and Mbesuma surely there should be no going back. Forgiveness must not be stretched. Patience has a strong engine but is not immune to seizure when severely misused. These guys need to get their club careers on track and ‘get on with it’ to use a clichéd expression if Zambian football is to reach the levels it deserves given the terrific talent that is awash like pebbles at a beach in this former British colony.

I love these lads dearly but their discipline, truth be told, has been disappointing. Indiscipline can never be condoned.

Had suffered from the AWOL bug and missed T.P Mazembe's Club World Cup
singuluma

This is not just for Rainford, Collins and Fwayo but many others who instead of being at training are either parading their flashy cars, girls or bottles of beer!  Not too long ago one Mr. Given Singuluma missed the FIFA Club World Cup in December for ‘’personal reasons.’’ Stop the rot for your own sakes!

It looks like it is now fashionable for Zambian star footballers some still fledglings to be smitten by this AWOL bug once a pittance of pennies hit their pockets.

For the Upteenth time, mental fortitude and great character are what make a great player. Jacob Mulenga does not posess the natural skilss that Kalaba, Mbesuma or Fwayo have but his Character abd Mental strenght is what has taken him thus far. Look at his journey to Holland and ask urself which one of these primadona’s would ever sacrifice the way Jacob has done.

Good article ba Muzo. Unfortunately, the contents are disheartening, albeit truthful. I really do not understand what is going through Kalaba’s head to suggest and think that Braga will even entertain allowing him to continue beyond this season. I’m sure, once he’s blacklisted, talent or otherwise, his European journey will be over. Like you point out, I hope whoever will take over the reigns as the coach for Zambia will no longer consider clubless players. Obviously, this is unintentionally promoting indiscipline.

Thought provoking article. Players some times have no say in certain decisions. We are can pile the blame on the young man because we have no details of the facts. Main issues its is the media that speculate rumors and whispers. Kalaba has both local and international managers. Why not also blame them for not reading to the boy the implications of loan with ZAMALEK? Sit down and coucil the young man and so that he can be well informed. I do not think the level of education in Zambian players is high enough to read and understanding the terms of certain agreement the same with Mbola. No terms were taught to the young man until a million British Sterling Pounds bounced off his left footed leg.

i think kalabaa have some body spoilling his mind with bigger dreams,,, but my advice for kalaba,, take what you have infront of you ,, and if anything in the contract is (fishy) u can just inform zamalek managers offucrse you and them will arrive to a good deal,,

if the agents did anything not clear,, just talk to zamalek abt it,….

Just a word of caution to Kalaba, you may have the skill but if you don’t have discipline you are nothing.Great men have stood the taste of time -you got the great Kalu, Charles Musonda. This may not only apply to Kalaba but many other players like Collins Mbesuma etc. With discipline you will be able to embrace professionalism.

Its amazing what a few praises can do to the human head, its amaizing that the human head can get so bloated with just the words of another person. its funny how year after year so many fotbalers fall into the same trap. its funny how they can actually look at Wawa, Elijah Litana, Emma Zulu etc and still go and make the same mistake, kaya mwe!!!

Rumour has it Clifford has signed a pre contract with Bloem celtic though Aces seem to be prepared to maintain him on a PSL salary if he accepts to extend his contract. Its a wait and see situation.
By the way Clifford and Songwe Chalwe will face each other in the PSL qualification play-off’s

    Simataa still banned—Kasolo
    By Sports Reporter

FAZ disciplinary committee vice-chairperson Anthony Kasolo has differed with his boss, Sunday Nkonde over the suspension of Zambia Football Coaches Association (ZAFCA) general secretary and Amakumbi Stars proprietor, Simataa Simataa.

While Nkonde insists the FAZ executive acted unconstitutionally, Kasolo during a Press briefing at Football House In Lusaka yesterday said the Kalusha Bwalya-led executive committee acted within its powers to suspend Simataa.

Kasolo said Article 20 of the FAZ constitution gives powers to the executive committee to suspend a member until the next council meeting.

Both Kasolo and Nkonde, apart from being lawyers, serve on the executive committee of the KCM-FAZ Premier Division side, City of Lusaka.

Kasolo quoted Article 20 of the FAZ Constitution, which states “The council is responsible for suspending a member. The executive committee may, however, suspend a member that seriously and repeatedly violates its obligations as a member with immediate effect. The suspension shall last until the next council meeting, unless the executive committee has lifted it in the meantime.

“A suspension shall be confirmed at the next council meeting by a resolution of the council carried with a two-thirds majority of the members present and entitled to vote.

A suspended member shall lose its membership rights. Other members may not entertain sporting contact with a suspended member. The disciplinary committee may Impose further santions”.

Kasolo said Simataa, according to the constitution, would remain suspended and that the disciplinary committee had no powers to overrule the executive committee’s decision since it was superior.

He said Nkonde did not consult members of his committee before declaring the suspension null and void.

“The disciplinary committee is appointed by the executive committee and in that case, the executive is more superior. Nkonde did not consult members of the disciplinary committee and none of us has the letter,” he said.

And Opper Hamyanzi, a disciplinary committee member said Nkonde misled himself and appealed to the nation to dismiss the utterances the Lusaka lawyer made with the contempt it deserved.

On the petition, Hamyanzi said there was a named political party, which was trying to disturb the running of football.

“Personal vendettas should not be encouraged. As a country, we have embarrassed ourselves internationally with what is currently happening,” he said.

The FAZ executive committee on Monday slapped an indefinite ban on outspoken Simataa from all football activities.

FAZ communications manager Erick Mwanza maintained the suspension still stood despite Nkonde’s declaration of it being null and void.
Nkonde still insists that Simataa’s suspension is null and void.

He said Article 20 which Kasolo was quoting only allows the executive to suspend a member and not an official.

Nkonde said a member is a club or an association affiliated to FAZ and people running those clubs are officials, hence Simataa is an official and not a member.

    Nkonde erred over Simataa ban
    By ROBINSON KUNDA

FOOTBALL Association of Zambia (FAZ) disciplinary committee vice-chairman Anthony Kasolo says his committee has no powers to overrule the executive committee’s decision to suspend Amakumbi Stars proprietor Simataa Simataa from all football activities.

Kasolo has charged that disciplinary committee chairman Sunday Nkonde erred by stating that the executive committee has no powers to suspend a member.
Both Kasolo and Nkonde are lawyers.

Kasolo said at a press briefing in Lusaka yesterday that the executive committee is the supreme organ of FAZ and as such his committee (disciplinary) cannot overturn its decisions.

On Tuesday, Nkonde nullified the executive committee’s indefinite suspension of Simataa from all football-related activities.

But Kasolo said article 20 of the FAZ constitution empowers the executive committee to suspend any member who violates its obligation.

Article 20 (1) reads: “The council is responsible for suspending a member. The executive committee may, however, suspend a member who seriously and repeatedly violates its obligation with immediate effect.

“The suspension shall last until the next council meeting, unless the executive committee has lifted it in meantime.”

Kasolo, who is also former FAZ general-secretary, said article 4 (15) also gives powers to the executive committee to suspend a member.

He said although FAZ consisted of various organs, the executive committee acts on behalf of the association in times when there are no council meetings or annual general meetings.

“The disciplinary committee is subservient to the executive committee. Therefore, we don’t have powers to overrule its decisions. We were appointed by the executive committee, how can we overrule our authority?” Kasolo asked.

He said in fact, article 28: 1 (ii) also gives the FAZ president powers to suspend a member.

“In consultation with the executive committee he (president) has powers to suspend any member of the executive or standing if such a member has committed gross misconduct or has acted in contravention of the provisions of this constitution or any rules and regulations made hereunder,” part of article 28: 1 (i) reads.

Kasolo, however, said Simataa still has constitutional rights to appeal to the appeals committee or the council.

“When one is suspended by the executive committee he can only appeal to the appeals committee or the council and not to the disciplinary committee because it is lower than the executive committee.

“It’s like when one is convicted by the Supreme Court, can that person appeal to the subordinate court?” he asked.

He said as vice-chairman of the committee, he has not seen the letter of appeal Simataa wrote and was not informed about the decision by Nkonde.
Nkonde, however, insisted that Simataa’s suspension is not constitutional.

“I gave my opinion, the suspension was unconstitutional and even today I repeat.

“The provisions that have been evoked are wrong. I am a senior lawyer there and I have been in football for a long time, I need to guide,” said Nkonde, a State Counsel.

He said Kasolo should have gone to him to consult.
Nkonde said Kasolo misled the people because the members talked about in article 20 were not necessarily individuals.

“First, you have to ask yourself who is a member? Members are not officials. It’s the provincial associations and the clubs. These are the members of FAZ. It’s a different case with the life members,” he said.

He said the disciplinary committee has not sat to look at the case because the case has not yet been taken to it.

Another member of the disciplinary committee, Opper Hamiyanze, said Nkonde allegedly misled the nation and made the decision to nullify Simataa’s suspension without consulting other members of the committee.

Hamiyanze wondered why Nkonde did not take the case to Football House but instead decided to handle it alone and gave statements to the media.

“As members of the disciplinary committee we were not informed about anything and I want to state that we are appointees of the executive committee who have powers to overrule our authority,” he said.

Meanwhile,. Hamiyanze has urged those petitioning the removal of FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya to be guided by the constitution.

He said according to article 28 (2), the removal of the president cannot be discussed at the annual general meeting but at a special council meeting called specifically for that purpose.

Article 28: 2 (ii) reads: “The president may be removed if he fails to properly administer FAZ; provided that in both (i) and (ii) above, the decision to remove the president shall be made by a two-thirds majority of members of FAZ at a special council meeting called for the purpose of the same sub-section above.”

Simataa has petitioned the removal of Kalusha at the annual general meeting set for March 27.

You do realise that with the internet, nothing can be kept in-house these days. The player should not depend on us to boost his disciplinary record, thats something he should do on his own by simply behaving professionally.

Man we tired of our players behaving like this how come many of them suffer from the ‘personal problem’ ? Tthis is indiscipline.

I support, the writer but I also agree that we should be careful about the details we disclose on this site. For sure as much as they may be facts, we should avoid shooting ourselves on the foot by demarketing the player.

Remember that alot of people all over the world including agents/scouts are reading this blog and they would use the information to make decisions about the players.

Never :Thats way disciplined players like William Njovu should be given more playing time in the national team. Not these guys who easily get carried away with ‘little success’.The performance at AFCON, has really got to Kalaba’s head and he thinks he is already a star.He is not yet a true star.

Excellent article BaMuzo! Really disheartening that the guy is throwing his talent away.

On another note. Mr Nkole is really schooling these guys. They must have been very excited when they thought they could ban Simataa, but it now transpires that they jumped the gun.

Surely FAZ can ind a way of sorting their issues out in private. How come FAZ are so open about such matters, but are not open about talking about the way forward or how they will handle future engagements i.e. international calendar and such. The second it is about he said she said, they are quick to have a press conference or talk to the press…. what a load of garbage!!!! This is so sad because I started to think that these guys were finally getting their act together, now it all just seems so negative and petty.

Oh by the way nice article Muzo… and as sad as it is, it is even worse that there are people who have made comments supporting such behaviour. Guys like Emmanuel Zulu, Elijah Litana … these guys should serve as an example to all. And the guys supporting such, I wonder if they have anything good to say about how these stars of yesterday are doing now.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is trying to find a club in Belgium for Zambian left-back Emmanuel Mbola – after setting up a £1million move to White Hart Lane.

The teenage defender has been to Spurs for talks and will sign once the red-tape problems are sorted out, with Redknapp and the player’s agent looking to place him in Europe for next season.

Mbola is waiting for his chance to officially become a Tottenham player, in a move first revealed by MirrorFootball . He has told his Armenian club Yerevan that he wants to leave.

Spurs swoop to sign brilliant African left-back

Now Spurs are sorting out the fee and also looking for a club where Mbola can play first-team football, with Belgium the favourite destination.

Mbola said: “Tottenham were happy with me and I should be going back, depending on how fast the issues are sorted out. I could not sign because I have to finalise things with my club

“I am not going back to Yerevan because I have issues with my contract. Spurs liked me a lot but there is contract confusion with my Armenian club and my agent.”

    Mozambique only threat Renard
    By CECILIA NAYAME

NATIONAL team coach Herve Renard says Mozambique are the only threat to Zambia’s qualification to the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations finals.

Renard said in an interview in Lusaka on Wednesday night that Mozambique will be a hard nut to crack.

Comoros Island, Libya, Mozambique and Zambia have been placed in Group Three of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers for the finals to be co-hosted by Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.

“I am not saying these other teams can’t beat Zambia, they are capable of doing it but the main threat will be Mozambique. Zambia needs adequate preparations.

“We have very good players who are capable of delivering to the expectations of the nation,” Renard said.

Zambia have faced Mozambique in the Cosafa Senior Challenge Cup on many occasions and have won all the games, the most recent being a 2-0 win in the semi-finals of the 2009 edition in Harare.

Zambia beat Mozambique 1-0 in the build-up to the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.

Renard led Zambia to the 2010 Angola Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals while Mozambique were ejected in the preliminary round.

The 12 group winners will qualify automatically, along with three best second-place finishers.
The qualifying campaign starts in September.

And Renard said he will know his fate after meeting the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) executive committee this monthend.

Renard said the meeting with the FAZ executive will discuss his contract, which expires in May.

He said if FAZ decides to renew his contract, he is ready to continue drilling the Chipolopolo.

“I don’t know which team I will be coaching next. I’m yet to sit down with FAZ to talk about my contract. I will only be able to know my next step after the meeting with FAZ,” Renard said.

He refuted media allegations that he will be tutoring Angola.

The Frenchman said there were a lot of speculations in football.

He, however, said if any country offered him a contract, he will take it.

“I was interviewed by one newspaper in Angola and I was asked that given a chance to coach that team (Angola) would I take the job? I said yes, because Angola is a good team. I didn’t say I will leave Zambia to join Angola, no.

“I know that it’s a wish of every coach in the world to coach at the World Cup. If at all I want to make any movement from Zambia to join another team, I am definitely going to tell everyone, even give reasons as to why I have made a move,” Renard said.

The problem Ba Kabs is that genuine agents are bein chased away from Zambia. This is the best time for ADVISORY ROLES not only when the SLAVES (Players) are being sold. Strange that the VULTURES keep quiet at such times and it is at such times some well meaning ADMINSITRATORS that are called names come in and players flock to them in secerecy (you would be amazed how many). I also hear that some Soccer Officials borrow money from players (even at National level rumour has it-this is the truth and nothing but the truth and only an IDIOT can deny it as abaiche have confided in some club chairmen that told me so). Some soccer scoundrel was allegedly demanding bribes from some U20 players from Kitwe when receiving their passports. To you bootlickers and cadres, these are issues you need to be telling your heroes instead of licking their filth boots.

Ba Muzo, people like you and I should not give up on these spoilt kids but offer free of charge advice kubaiche before these billions of blue blistering bernacles (like Captain Haddock in the Tintin comic series) would say for those who are old enough, see it as another opportunity to make money.

Like for Mbola I am worried about our piece of gem. How come these things are only rife now and not before is what these cabal of hyenas that support blindly need question. For the very last time (sorry Ba Anonymous) people just need to learn a leaf from Mahtani!!!

    Ba Dinamo,
Yes i remember the boy and he was indeed a gem of a player ku wing. I saw him late last year na dreadlocks. We need pschologists for these boys. Lately i have been thinking of a product of managing the affairs of these boys in liaison with their appointed guardian back in Zambia. I will sell the concept to one of the local Banks so that some Investment Product of some sort can be formulated. The last i heard, Tijani Babangida that quick winger of Nigeria 1996 erected one of the biggest shopping malls in Nigeria, while that African Tiger of a boxer Nelson Azumah ran a fleet of trucks. For close to some of these professional players let’s assist them before it’s too late.
