FAZ general secretary George Kasengele on Tuesday afternoon allegedly manhandled Faagros Lockers football club secretary Patrick Kasoka at Football House in Lusaka wrote The Post Newspapers.
According to Kasoka, Kasengele allegedly roughed him up in the presence of secretariat staff and asked him to leave Football House.
Kasoka said Kasengele accused him of issuing insulting statements in the media.
“I came to Football House to deliver some application to the technical director for training of coaches’ instructors for our region. In the process, I went to see Mr Kasengele to clarify something on the registrar Joel Kabika,” he narrated.
Kasoka said immediately Kasengele saw him approach his office, he asked him to leave.
“He Kasengele actually manhandled me. He said if I was not going to leave, he will beat me up but as he started approaching me, he was only stopped by the workers at the secretariat,” the Livingstone-based FAZ official said.
“This is very unfortunate. I have not insulted him in anyway apart from supporting the petition.
“Football House does not belong to Kasengele. I’m here on official business, if he can’t attend to me, he has no right to chase me,” he said.
Kasoka has been a fervent supporter of Medical Stars chairman Alex Mambwe’s petition that seeks to remove Kasengele, his deputy Julio Chiluba and treasurer Boniface Mwamelo.
Kasoka said he also wanted to bring the improper registration of the Livingstone Pirates interim committee with documented proof of their terms of reference.
“I was told that Joe is in trouble for telling me the truth that he registered the Pirates interim committee under strict instructions from GS,” he said.
Kasoka said it was unfortunate that it took a FAZ member of staff Lorraine Mweemba and another official named Secant to stop Kasengele from inflicting physical harm.
“I wanted to show him the letters over Pirates but his behaviour is disappointing. He has become a boxer now, instead of a football administrator,” he said.
When Kasoka informed journalists about the incident at Football House, Kasengele issued instructions to lock the main entrance to the premises.
Around 15:10 hours, Post Newspapers journalists that went to meet Kasoka were barred from entering the Football House premises.
The guards at the gate said they were instructed not to admit any journalists, a similar situation that applied to the Muvi TV crew.
“We are not allowing any journalists inside. That is the instruction we have been given. If you want to go in, we have to get clearance from inside,” a guard on duty said.
A few minutes later, a fuming Kasoka emerged from Football House offices complaining about the treatment but vowed not to be intimidated.
When contacted for a comment on the matter, Kasengele abruptly cut the line after the reporter introduced himself, saying: “I am not commenting on anything.”
Kasengele has recently come under scrutiny for his performance at Football House.
When other countries are so busy playing friendlies our colleagues at Football House pre-occupied with trivial personal issues. All this is at the expense of the Zambian game which seems to be slowly finding its feet.
Even our lowly rated neighbors all played friendlies yesterday.
Kasengele must resign coz he has utterly failed and he is disturbing our minds instead of talking football we are now talking boxing, wrestling and manhandling at Football House, Shame on you Kasengele. it really shows that football admin has gone to the Dogs… anyway enough on that, ba Zamfoot u promised to update us on Mbola by Tuesday, 2nd March but up to nomba u’ve kept quiet wat,s happening?
Not that am questioning whether the incident happened, thing is, I find an inconsistence in this Post article. How on earth is one personally manhandled by a person who is restrained before reaching you? This report is tainted with malice. There is some exegeration to the story. Which college or varsity did these reporters go to? Their lecturers are either disappointed or a disappointment. Shame also on Kasengele 4 behaving like a kid.
its sad to see boys fighting, boyhandling and stuff when other countries are busy building on there football, what a shame!jesus, mary and joseph!please faz fire somebody for love of football.
bunch of crap from our FAZ,Kasengele nimbwa yamuntu,if malawi can organise a friendly game what about Zambia. what a shame, eyo kwena ninama yabaiche…………kulakasabafye ififine ngabakolwe nefipato..webulandawe
If this really happened then its a shame.. but i do not think this man was ‘manhandled’ as he claims,he was just told to leave the office and he went to the post,it would have helped to have heard kasengeles side of the story…
Mabbwana you are absolutely rite. Most of the countries in the SADC region were engaged in friendlies yesterday. South Africa, Botswana, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Mozambique, DRC…….. What about Chipolopolo? What’s difficult about organising friendlies? I wonder whether there is a program in place.
I don’t blame FAZ, a game for what at this stage? We just came out of Afcon and we are not going to the World Cup. Common guys don’t just be critics. FAZ prepared the team well for Afcon with a number of games. The coach, players also need a break.
@shadbeat
the Mbola update and full story will be posted by the end of the day. Cheers
what are the basis of these same petitions, are they being done out of hatrage because someone is not performing in faz…can someone help me understand
It started with Kalusha amnhandling the reporter now its kasengele, it appear we have runpens at FAZ
We have thugs in suits at FAZ. Resorting to physicallity shows how we have such small minds sitting at football house.
This whole manhandling story is total crap and can only be bought by a person without a spine. There is a difference between manhandling and fuming. The Post sports journalists like to dramatize and their hate for FAZ is well documented. They will not stop and anything to portray a picture of confusion in FAZ and this can be seen in the way they report about the petitions. Where as Times of Zambia and Zambia Daily Mail include views of those for and against the petition, the post guys only include those of the team pushing for the petition. Those who want to remin objective can rea between the lines…
We have thugs in suits at FAZ. Resorting to physicallity shows how we have such small minds sitting at football house.
Yes, You are very right, we have thugs with small minds, they no shame, their concious is dead remember how Mash Chilemena confronted that Gentle from Zambia national sports coucil in the bank.
Judging from the article, there was no physical confrontation. Thats why I wouldnt agree with some here saying Football house is occupied by ”boxers”. Lets comment based on the article and not on past reputations and perceptions.
Lets focus on Kasengele and not other people or issues so that he feels the heat.
I think this guy is causing an unnecessary distraction to our football. Why don’t people in our country have the decency to resign once too many issues regarding them start getting in the way of getting the job done. There’s been many underhand things mentioned with Kasengele’s name attached and the honorable thing for him is to step aside so that our focus can get back on football and not FAZ. If he has done nothing wrong, let the petition go forward and he will accorded chance to defend himself at the AGM
The post has not been truthful in past, no balanced reporting. This story could be untrue.
We want to hear about players abroad, how are they performing? If its true “the paper that dig deeper”. Can they dig deeper about unknown Zambian players out there?
Awe ba Chamz. These dates are known well in advance and therefore plans must be in place to continously develop our game . We are paying Renad a lot of money and he should be earning it. He would have timed his leave in such a way that he could have met this task. Our soccer doesnt start and end at AFCON – its a continous process and we shouldnt slacken just because there is no world cup, COSAFA etc in sight. Lets just face it, Malawi, Zim and all these others that had freindlies are doing better than us in terms of organization ! Should we be surprised that they beat Algeria convincingly at AFCON ? its because of being organized and our arrangement is not up to standard. Maybe thats why we hear all these calls about getting Kasengele out of office. We should never accept incompetence and this situation of failing to organise even a game against the likes of kenya when we know very well that March 3 is a FIFA day is just unnacceptable !
Why is there always confusion at FAZ? Just why all this? No further comments
Well said Winza, even the more reason we should have the friendly games cause our national team wont be active when other guns will be battling it out at the WC. We need to continue monitoring our team and building cohesion not waiting for the tournament.
Which team is that that was clobbered by the Soth Korea which we beat before the AFCON. Things look good. Lets just have the stadia coming through and there will be more success to handle. Hey Mr Kasengele take it easy, everyone take it easy lets not let go of the good things we have started reaping. The friendlies take money, for the meantime, lets consolidate the league. All clubs must tel us a story about their vision, websites, programs for the disabled fans, old people, children, linkages with academies in the townships or with teams in lower leagues etc. I heard from someone that ZESCO has embarked on building a modern soccer academy from the money they won in the champions league. Is it true Zamfoot confirm or MR Mumba, yes.
Where is Herve Renard? He should get started very quickly.
Good day everyone on the site.
And why is it reported by one particular tabloid. It must be noted that not all news is true from tabloid newspapers. I feel the petitions are now being used as a weapon of mass destruction. On what basis do you petition someone. we cannot surely judge one person by looking a ONE weakness. We need to weigh the negatives against positives. if they outweigh negatives then better stregthen how the person can be bettered. Otherwise should they go through we will see FAZ bening changed every AGM. Lets give positive criticisim. Surely one need a thcik skin to be at Football house. Julio Chiluba is a veteran just like Solly Pandor who have worked under diddferent regimes. Why have they all of a sudden gone sour today?

I’m not holding my breathe on that one. Do promises of posting pictures of the NDOLA Stadium last year ring any bells? HEHE…..Anyway Zamfoot we no you try your best. But if there is a way we can make small contributions online to make this more effective let us know.
@Sceptic
Eeee kwena. Akasuba kawa ba zamfoot.
Teams that played are either going to the World Cup or missed Afcon. Common guys it would have been nice to have a game but I don’t think it is important unless it was an all expensives trip in a country where our players do not need visas.
You have my support on this one
I think we should have played even DR Congo, Kenys etc even with local palyers. Lwandamina should have taken charge, cause that is the reason why he is assistant
Good points Gents
you should not jump to conclusions that the post is always wrong. You are the same people who condemned the Post when Kalu slapped Augustine Mukoka but you have conveniently kept quiet after the same Kalu almost manhandled Pivotty Simwanza for donating football jerseys. Let us not blindly defend the indefensible. Because of some of the scandals unearthed at Football House such as violation of Tender procedures, one member is resigning tomorrow. Some of you guys you are belittling issues of good corporate governance. @Paulsn
You are right my man, but the issue is if we talk about Kalu certain sections on this blog think we hate him. This is the reason why I do not comment so much regarding FAZ cause Kalu and Kasengele it seems they know everything. At times it is just best to keep silent.
