Winger Fwayo Tembo scored a brace on Saturday for Etoile du Sahel in the 3-2 win over ES Haman Souse in the Tunisian league match.
Fwayo got his brace in the first half. The Etoile du Sahel coach kept faith in the Zambian winger after he did well in the previous league match after he was thrown into the starting line up thanks to the indiscipline of his rival for the wing berth, Ghanian youngster Eric Asamoah, who has been relagated to the reserve side.

Etoile is now second on the log from 17 games.
In Georgia, Chisamba Lungu helped Baia to a 2-0 win over Gagra. Chisamba picked up a knock and was replaced in the 80th minute.
Collins Mbesuma scored a thunderbolt to remind people about his goal scoring prowess as Swallows won 2-1.

with the south african league coming to an end next weekend and reopening in august, psl based players should atleast remain active by playing in the kcm league which is about to start, they will be home for about 5 months without playing and we know how they behave when they are back here, imagine mbesuma staying in luanshya in for 3 months without playing football,he will go back and then spend 2 months in the gym trying to reduce his weight,

Well, for a guy who was supposedly just drinking in Zambia, Fwayo seems to have very sharp instincts in front of goal. And that fact that he both started and probably finished both games at such a furious pass proves that he’s still in shape.

rumour has it that cardiff city are intrested in both kalaba and chintu..i hope it is true
Kai Kai on Tue, 2nd Mar 2010 8:36 PM
Chintu is a very good defender. It amazes me that Patrick Phiri had him on the bench for all but some 20 minutes of the ’08 Nations Cup. And when he came on against Egypt, he was easily the best defender on the field. He can play in the Championship. Kalaba, too.
kazz on Tue, 2nd Mar 2010 8:43 PM
yep jsy heard that rumour as well…hope it they make it……mayuka is definetly goin to porto according to rumours here in portugal
Gametime12 on Tue, 2nd Mar 2010 9:17 PM
Thats the only problem I have with local coaches. Did you know that Eljah Tana was also dropped from the squad before the Afcon, and Patric Phiri failed to explain why he was dropped? Tana was in form then there’s no way on earth Nketani and Billy Mwansa deserved to be in the starting lineup in 2008. We were masacred because of these two guys, and yet we wonder why we havent been able to make it to the quarter finals in 14 years. HR did not even do much to take us there
Justice Kafusha on Tue, 2nd Mar 2010 10:18 PM
Ala bwafya, it beats me too that Chintu who was PP’s first choice in central defence for the under20 world cup in Nigeria suddenly became nothing. Was just wondering cause Chintu is big and a very good defender.
And this boy Tembo is a good player but uku shumfwa too much.

Big Steve from SA on Wed, 3rd Mar 2010 11:05 AM
Everything at FAZ is secretive, if they had it there way they would play every game behind closed doors and keep all scores secret. I think this whole secretive style of doing things makes them feel macho or something. Open dor policy does not exist in their vocabulory.
Looks like maybe the young man Fwayo was training on the side whilst we all thought he was drowning himself in mosi. If you have ever played soccer then you would know that it is almost impossible to come back from wallowing around to play full 90 minute games and have the coaches confidence to play you. Just two days in training would expose your unfittness. This kid just needs to keep a straight head.
By the way Zamfoot what was the real story behind his AWOL move.

Big Steve,
Leadership and Management do not come by accident. Ka Strategy does away with subjectivity and broods objectivety where one individual even threatens to throw people out of an Executive meeting.
Gesh,
Tall order to expect a friendly when preoccupation now is to shield themselves from petitions flying from all angles by their former CAMPAIGN AGENTS. Even within the Executive they are splits and only a FOOL would deny this. Our soccer is in turmoil to say the least. That is why we have heard no response to Simataa’s assertion that there is corruption in our game. GOD HELP US.

Braga want Kalaba back 03.03.10
By VICTOR KUMWENDA and HONE LIWANGA
SPORTING Braga want midfielder Rainford Kalaba to return to Portugal, hoping to convince him to join Egyptian giants Zamalek.
Kalaba signed a six-month contract with Egyptian giants Zamalek just after the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola but the player has not joined the club.
Afrisport chief executive officer Gabriel Kaunda said in an interview yesterday that Kalaba’s agent Graham Heydon has asked him to find the player, who is wanted in Portugal.
Kaunda said Braga want to meet the player so that they could advise him to honour the contract he has signed with Zamalek before returning to Portugal.
He said according to Heydon, Braga are worried about the whereabouts of Kalaba as he has not been in touch with the Portuguese club since he came back from Egypt.
Kaunda said Kalaba has vehemently refused to join Zamalek and that he did not even know where the player is at the moment.
He said the last time he spoke to Kalaba was last Wednesday.
“Kalaba has told me that he will not join Zamalek and I am worried right now about his whereabouts, so is Braga and his agent Graham. I don’t know where he is and there is no communication. The last time I spoke to him was on Wednesday last week.
“People in Portugal have been asking me about his whereabouts but it is difficult to give them any information, considering that I am not in touch with Kalaba,” said Kaunda.
Kaunda said he is in constant touch with Graham and hopes that Kalaba’s issue will be resolved soon so that the player can settle down.
Kalaba had a good outing at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola where the Chipolopolo were eliminated in the quarter-finals by Nigeria.
Meanwhile, Zamalek said they are no longer interested in Kalaba after he failed to join them and are demanding US$25,000 refund which they paid as part payment to Braga for Kalaba to shift.
According to Filgoal.com, Zamalek spokesman Sabri Serag said they have decided not to wait for Kalaba’s return.
“We will not wait for Kalaba’s return and now we have to get our refund from Braga,” Sabri said.
“He has not trained with Zamalek or with his team in Portugal, he needs to return to match fitness and time is not enough for that since we have already played three games,” Sabri said.
Kalaba’s refusal to join Zamalek stems from a dispute over his monthly salary.
Zamalek are believed to have promised Kalaba US$25,000 per month but later offered him US$20,000.
But Kalaba is also said to have personal problems that are affecting his professional career.

What happened to the Mbola
Story Zamfoot asked us to look out for? It was to be put up on tuesday and today is Wednesday. The least you could have done is to say you cant put it up now. Others would have been called liers. Pardon me if you have said already that the story will be put up later coz thats a responsible response. Just imagine the disrespect of being stood up without hearing from one who stood you up.

Something needs to be done about this Kalaba issue before we lose another great talent. There is no way he will remain on top of his game if he is not playing.

Yaah i agree with you gentlemen about the mayhem at Football House. This is the first time we are seeing someone being threatened to be thrown out of a meeting for donating footballs and jerseys to mostly lower division teams by someone who claims to have a passion for football and some international connections. People who have spoken against maladministration at Football House, like me, are now fearing to go to register our players there because we are now not sure whether one is going to receive a punch or or simply turned away. The Football House colleagues are now turning physical though the problems they face there require more brains than blows.
The analysis and thinking of some of them is really shallow as they think that, provided there is a budget in place, then tender procedures are not applicable and hence the procurement of vehicles without following FAZ Tender procedures by the FAZ Secretariat. The danger i see here is that the biggest weaknesses the current FAZ Executive committe has got is that they have not have had any successfull real executive meeting since October 2009. Almost all their meetings have been characterised by threats, counter threats, rolling of shirt sleeves, failure to reach any meaningful consensus and near punch-ups are now not uncommon. Their meetings have been short as the FAZ president has been in a hurry to attend CAF or FIFA meetings without any regard whatsoever with local meetings. He has been too busy to hold any FAZ meetings and one is left wondering whether he has time to discuss local football. This is yet the first executive to have received really massive state Presidential support in the history of Zambian football and unlike their predecessors, they cannot cry that they have been under-funded and, in fact, they still have money in their coffers from the K10 billion plus raised for them. Even at the time the President was busy fund raising for them, the FAZ executive displayed its uncouth behaviour by snubbing ZAIN Zambia’s donation to the team.
In conclusion, the current FAZ executive cannot progress our football in this country as they cannot see eye to eye with each other and almost always, the President is the one at the helm of all problems. Surely how do you expect the whole FAZ president to almost man handle Pivotty Simwanza for having contributed to lower division teams? How men lower division teams has he, himself donated to yet he carries a diplomatic passport that, inter-alia, exempts him from paying duty on the football equipment? This executive has received an overdose of petitions which are unprecedented in this country and it (executive) is now totally divided and come this Friday, we will witness the resignation of one member of this executive (watch this space) and big cracks are rapidly developing on the Kalusha Bwalya-lex executive. Perhaps it is high time we raised the minimum qualifications of the people to be entrusted with the responsibility of running football in this counrty.

We have limitless potential, we just always manage to screw it up. Infact we have become good at screwing things up, right now we seem to be squandering the progress we have made with Renard, Our resurgence on the continent. Ba Zamfooty we are waiting to know the “big fish” behind Mbola’s story as promised. You can not just alarm us and keep quiet without informing us on what is happening. It seems you were just speculating without any facts which can be interpreted as “malicious allegetions aimed at dainting the image of Football House.” As proffessionals, please don’t allow emotions or hatred for some people to guide your work. Lets rise above pettiness and be objective. If by any chance you bring out facts on this issue, which I strongly dought, I am going to apologise unresevedly for rebuking you.

But these guys seem to forget that you have the Africans in Diaspora who have very strong links with Football Clubs globally so I rest my case.

You are doing the same thing that you are accusing ba Zamfoot of doing. Ask a direct question and/or give ba Zamfoot time to follow through on what they promised. Remember, as has been stated a number of times already, they are doing this on meager resources.
We can only wonder about that.
Paulsn on Wed, 3rd Mar 2010 11:02 PM
Saying Zamfoot dont have to apologise for lying to us is a load of bull. Why do you have to hide behind the excuse of operating under meager resources? Are the resources any lower than they were when we were told 2 look out for the Mbola story? Someone shud hav known u need resources to run this thing then plan ahead. No wonder pipo do the turf first then want 2 do the stands of Independence later. Poor planning.

Chali Cool on Thu, 4th Mar 2010 8:25 AM
My friend your thinking boggles my mind. whats the connection between asking Zamfooty to be objective and operating on meager resources? Does it cost millions for them to post an apology or explanation the same way we are doing? Think before you post.
Zamfoot on Thu, 4th Mar 2010 11:13 AM
Gents, the story will be published. I had to go to Kitwe over the weekend to try and sort out the mess and hopefully see Emma on the next plane to England.
Returned to Lusaka on Monday night but unfortunately I had a bit of flu. I spent the whole day on Tuesday in bed and just felt a bit better on yesterday. I have typed half of the story and I promise it will be publish.
Matafwali on Thu, 4th Mar 2010 8:22 PM
You are right, ba Zamfoot should have given us an explanation of some sort (which they have done by now) and that does not cost much, but I still think your accusatory rebuke was unnecessary as you did not know the facts behind the non-published story. I should have been clearer, so I apologize to you.
