Chipolopolo Boys trainer Herve Renard is believed to be closer to becoming a new coach of Gabon national team.
According to reliable sources in France, the Gabon Football Federation President met Renard in Angola during the African Cup of Nations to try to lure him.
“He has received a lot of offers from Africa. He is studying them but at the moment it is like he is closer to accepting the Gabon offer,” the source revealed to the Zambianfootball.net in an interview.
Renard’s ‘dream of coaching a World Cup bound African country’ has dried up after Nigeria excluded him from their short list while Cameroon will continue with his compatriot Paul Le Guen. That only leaves Senegal and Gabon in the race to snap up the Frenchman whose contract as Chipolopolo trainer is set to expire in May 2010.
“Nigeria and Cameroon are out of the equation. So that leaves Gabon and Senegal. Yes, I have heard about Tanzania but no chance,” the source stressed
At a media press briefing after the African Cup of Nations, Renard revealed that he had met a ‘President of federation but not for a country going to the World Cup.’
Gabon is looking for a coach after Frenchman Alain Giresse left his post by mutual consent after six years of being at the helm of the Panthers.
Zambia beat Gabon 2-1 to advance to the quarter finals at the last African Cup of Nations.
FAZ President Kalusha Bwalya is back in the country from his Johannesburg base to map the way forward for Zambian football with the Frenchman’s future on top of the Agenda as well as the petition of his General Secretary George Kasengele which is gaining ground.

Tired of this, I have been the greatest supporter of him, but it seems he really loves attention. May be it`s high time we moved on. Football is about long term planning. We need someone who may only be willing to leave after 2014. Kabiye iwe!
why cant FAZ just let this quack go? it seems his mind is somewhere, he is not settled in Zambia in his thinking…lets not hold onto him as if we cant find a better one..only that we are stupid to have let him make a name and polish his CV on us…Kalu to blame…NALEKA
There is nothing wrong with such speculations. After all its the natural thing to do when your tour comes to an end….HAVE PLAN B. All we are waiting for is his official comment but he (Renard) cannot do so till the end of the contract. He cannot even use this to hold FAZ at ransom. Seondly football will not stop if Renard was to go. It is obviously an ADDED ADVANTAGE to extend continuity with the sole purpose of continuity as he has laid a solid foundation. At least he managed to come up with a fial team as he was accused of experimenting for a very long time by some school of thought. What he lacks in my very or needs to work on or both is the technical aspect of the game. Mentally we are there but we need to compliment sexy football with results. There are no goals awarded for good ball possesion. With a technically sound coach we could have beaten 9ja and went aal the wat to lift the AFCON trophy.
M. Hervé Renard nous vous souhaitons une bonne santé dans votre endevours et espérons que vous continuerez à l’entraîneur de l’équipe nationale de la Zambie. ‘Les yeux sur la balle »toujours aussi aller……
HRs mind is not with Zambia. I dont think we are third class such that he should be towing with us like this. Lets release the brother if he is not interested in staying with us.
Yaba! Am tired now. Can u pliz let dis guy go.
Kabiye fye, we will meet and teach u a lesson in 2012
yaba alemesa HR. Let him go mwe.. i loved him but its too much now
UUH,UUH; INGULULU BAASA. WHEN ARE LEAVING OUR TEAM ZAMBIA HR? TAULI COACH IWE, YOU AR JST LIKE KALUSHA. MAY YOU GO IN PEACE SOON PSE, YOU ARE EVEN WAISTING TYM
Ba hr kuti mwayafye mukende ulufyile ng”ombe twamipapata pafula.
The earlier we let this boy leave the better. Lets get a replacement now so that the new coach can have ample time to know the time. Let him go.
It pains me to note that some people think HR is a saint, come on guys, the guy is simply a physical trainer and you will need to talk to the players to know that he actually has alot to learn in terms of football intelligency and techniques. If the guy wants us to kneel down and plead for him to stay perhaps some of you can and definately count me out. I even think there nore local coaches who acn do far much better than HR.
I also want to tell you that because of over rating himself HR will one day crush badly. To me he is a colourless coah who needs alot more years to mature and develop his colour. He has only been head for Zambia for a short time and he thinks he can coach any time in africa.
I must also hasten to mention that i have totally nothing against the man but he has crossed the line on many issues, the spat against the media, he was ballistic against the Post sports report, he has depondent against the Zambian people insulting us at will.
If we look at his performance, i think it has been below average and Zambian football the watse statistics ever, the waste FIFA ranking of number 96 happened in HR’s time. The poorest scoring record in the qualifiers, Losing to Zanziba, and i personally think the qualification to AFCON was sheer luck.
Then the celebrated quaterfinal berth or rather the performance of the team at AFCON to me is not attributable to HR. In fact we should have won the AFCON if we had a better coach. All the players who performed well at the AFCON are proffessional who have been improved by their respective clubs. HR failed to gell the team together and the only thing he did was to create swing players in Thomas and Sunzu for what reason because they are paplying in oppisite role at their clubs.
I think we let him go, personally i think it will good for him and good for Zambia. Allain Giresse the former coach for Gabon is a for international for France, more trained, more experienced, more exposed and with massive aptitude than HR. What pedigree, what profile will HR take to Gabon, guys let us be fair with ourselves.
Kalu will always support HR because he hand picked him and we all dont on what basis and what they agreed.
This guy is realy toying with us, does FAZ have no b_____ls at all?
zamfoot i hop dis story is true. there is nthin wori 4renard 2coach gabon.we look 4another coach
Ka HR iwe just go. The little guy’s heart is not with ZAMBIA.He will remember Zambia one day. Now I know why the Ghana FA meanrt when he said, This HR needed us more at that time, than we needed him. Now that he’s made a little mark out of Zambia, he wants to shun us. Just let the quacked fox go.
mulekeni aleye,zambians ubututu.
I am surprised that FAZ has, hitherto, failed to read HR’s mind. After having stayed behind in Angola for ‘a television interview’ HR demanded that he should have a final say on the composition of the technical bench. To me this was strange because it was tantamount to saying shut your mouth to Emmanuel Munaile (Honourable) who is, FAZ constitutionally supposed to be the chairman of the technical committee notwithstanding the stand-off the two had prior to the commencement of Angola Afcon 2010. This also meant that HR had slammed doors for any addition and/or subtraction to the technical bench. That is, he was simply saying no to the budding coaching talents of likes of Honour Janza. He was simply telling FAZ and the Zambian soccer fraternity that, now that i have qualified Zambia to the quarter finals after 14 years of consistent failure, i am my own boss and if i am to stay here in Zambia, i won’t brooke any nonsense from any one, both in and outside FAZ. The guy clearly mentioned that coaches, world over aimed to coach and participate at the world cup and he said, if i am offered such an opportunity, you know my answer.
Surely the writing has always been there on the wall for all to see and i am personally perplexed that FAZ, in their typical lakadaiscal stance, have spectarcularly failed to read between the lines and hide under the fact that the contract is still running. I was shocked to read in the print media that Kalusha Bwalya’s plan A (I only hope it actually does exist) is HR, Plan B is HR and Plan C is HR. To me, this is yet another lamentable failure to read-between-the lines and think outside the box. Fine the President has passionately appealed to HR to remain as coach for our national team but the gentleman seems to be very determined to defy the presidential appeal and move on.
Just a kind advise to HR and i won’t even charge him for it, he should not feel bloated and think he is the best coach this part of Africa. Mother Zambia has about the best football skills and talents in the entire Africa but merely lacks proper harnessing and nurturing of such skill. HR did not come with these talents and skills but found them here suffice to mention that our naturally skilful players largely contributed to his ’success’ and he cannot be assured of the same skills where he is going and we shall not surrender but move forward in unison and stand behind our boys. Emmanuel and Kenny Mwape, Ghost Mulenga, Johnstone Katowando, Peter M’hango, Edwin Mbaso, Kaiser Kalambo, Dick Chama, Dickson Makwaza, Jani Simulambo, Obby Kapita, Benard ‘Bomber’ Chanda, goal King Godfrey ‘Ucar’ Chitalu, Jack Chanda, Willie Phiri, Pele Kaimana, Funny Hangunyu, Boniface Simutowe, Simon ‘Kaushi’ Kaodi (alias Kang’amba net’), Joseph Mapulanga, Emment Kapengwe, big John Zyambo, our heroes who perished in Gabon, etc were all bred locally and made every team on this continet dance to their tunes. (If these names don’t ring a bell in you, chances are that you were busy breastfeeding and missed the cream of Zambian football). With our abundance talent we will do much better even without HR. LET HIM GO much as we needed him and Ponga Liwewe put it, it will not be the end of the world.
Having expressed my personal opinion on this (i am upset and fed up with HR feeling like he is close to Paradise), FAZ should start planning ahead and this time around, the recruitment process should be transparent. We do not need to wait and be told by HR that he is not renewing the contract-his conduct and utterances speaks volumes.
Zamfoot any possibility of availing us lists of the provisional under 17 for both Cpperbelt and Midlands?
Bushe kanshi uyu vuvu HR why cant he just go and leave us in peace. Awe nanaka nankwe uyu malinso.
I think HR is trying to use these antics as a leverage for more money. Do I think he deserves more money? No. I think its time to call the curtain on this guy and move on. He has left a very bad taste in my mouth personally and I think he may just disturb that momentum that we have as a team
Nice one ROK and I think altimately the solution is for the FAZ Council to clean up the FAZ executive committee. The petition in my view should have been extended to Kalu because all ills at FAZ must start and finish with Kalu being the head of FAZ.
It is interesting to note that Kalu is now engineering a petition for HON Munaile and Pivot and i think it is true knowing Kalu and his tantrums. The reason FAZ is not performing is the fact that for the first time Kalu employed a coach and his GS without following procedure, no interviews, no nothing. I am liably informaed that Kaseglele and Kalu goes a long way back, there are Mafukeni boys and not surprising there many more Mafukeni boys at FAZ and the institutions they control, Lwandamina, Munaile and many more.
What is surprising is that despite all the hype about Mufulira, these guys have failed to help Mufulira Wonderers , the team that made them what they are today. Kalu choses to form and manage K-Stars as a way of having a go at donor funds and uses his position to lobby for the same. Shame!
Kalu is just a soccer player nothing more nothing less. Let us just look at the people that have held the position before him and their cridentials. Just to mention a few Teddy Mulonga worked for among other companies BOZ in a very senior position , highly qualified and experienced, Everisto Kasunga was MD for Zambia National Oil Company, highly qualified and experienced, Late Micheal Mwape BOZ GManager, Micheal Chiti well qualified. Simata Simata former Director at Finance Bank, David Phiri i cant even describe him.
Kalu is just a form 5 what does he know about managing an institution. It is not coincidental that he is failing he simply is not qualified for the position and to make matters worse even GS who is chief executive of FAZ is in the same shoes as Kalu.
Zoona kwati bufi(lol i cant believe this) am i the happiest that Evil Renard is going ah ah ah ah ah,go well.
Ladies and Gents the issue of HR is not up to him but FAZ. FAZ should have tabled a contract extension immediately after AFCON
The reason why FAZ are hesitating to extend HR’s contract is due to lack of funds, remember when KCM pulled out of paying HR’s wages, there were problems and HR went without pay until some firm offered to cover his wages for the reminder of contract. That is how things were settled
The big question now is that, do FAZ have money to pay HR if his contract was extended. The answer is a big NO. FAZ can only extend the contract of HR if;
1. A company offers to foot the wages
2. If the Govt thru. RB offer to foot the bill
I feel it is a bit unfair to blame HR. The man has a family and as such needs to secure his future long before his current contract ends. I would do the same if I were in his shoes. What have FAZ been waiting for. Let FAZ come out in the open and tell the truth, that they have no money to pay HR and would like to appeal to companies that would willing to foot the wages of the in return for advertising rights whenever chipolopolo are training and playing games
This I feel is the position as at now
Cheers
wages of HR
In addition even if HR leaves FAZ will still not have the capacity to employ a quality coach unless Govt or some company moves in to pay the wages. Should this not happen do not be surprised if Janza is appointed National coach cause he can coach for peanuts. Sorry but this is the way issues stand as at now
please let him go
Justice, maybe funding is an issue, but i’m sure it’s not the only one. It’s up to HR whether he wants to stay aswell as whether he is right man FAZ, because if his head and heart are not in the right place…
I think HR is hoping for a job with IC or Cam. I have a theory that is what he is thinking he can land. It’s funny how most African teams going to the WC are not entirely happy with their coaches. They are not sure and hoping something is going to convince them. There must be allot of jostling going on behind the scenes! If i were IC i wouldn’t go for Gus Hiddink, i would go for Bruno Metsu as his name was linked to the Nigeria job. I think HR is part of this game, he’s letting info slip about Gabon to force others to take action if they want him.
Just a theory.
let the porno star go. We have always beaten Gabon.
Maybe he just wants to get a raise from all this. And i doubt if there’s any extra money for him.
Let me stir a hornet’s nest here. Most bloggers here are either unenlightened or lack analyatic skills. Imagine if your contract is about to expire and you want a bigger paying job. You are frank and tell people that. You have received many offers from other companies but unfortunately, people that have access to your information start discussing your plans in public. Who’s at fault?? How can you all claim that you’re tired of hearing of Renard’s plans when the people making all the noise or discussing his future plans are not him but this very same blog, Zambiafootball.net?? Nowhere in this story is HR quoted. It’s always “this source said that,” “another source said that.” Can’t you read between the lines??? The guy is on vacation and sorting out his future but “sources” that claim to know what his plans are the only ones talking. How thick can you be? For those of you that are professionals here on this blog, how many would refuse a good job offer? How many have stopped looking for an even better paying job? So what crime has HR committed given that his contract expires in three months time? No wonder so many of our players lack ambition…the Mbesumas and Emmanuel Zulus and all those unmotivated characters although they have tremendous talent. That my friends is a classical losers mentality. It would be one thing if HR is being quoted every day saying “I’m interviewing with Gabon, with Tanzania, with Nigeria.” But when all these stories come from “sources,” why should you get annoyed? If I was a footballer, my dream would be to play for the best club in the world. If I was a lawyer, I would want to be the best lawyer in the world and if I was a coach, I would want to coach a top team or at least make money coaching a very good team. I’ve got thick skin, so bring it on!!!
Iwe ati porno star, wa nshekesha ala nafwa
I get your point but I feel in this particular case FAZ should make the first move and table a contract extension to HR and then it will be up to him to either accept or refuse and the earlier this is done this the better, as this will put the record straight
What worries me is that we may end up like in the past whereby we shall start searching for a new coach one month before the first game for AFCON2012 kicks off
I mean does anyone in FAZ have the guts to face HR and ask him this simple question. HR if we offered an extension to your contract would be willing to extend, Yes or No chapwa. The man has had time to think and I sure he has the read by now
doesn’t
@Kai Kai
Its been broughten!!!!
@Kai Kai
Okay mwandi I see your point. At the same time I hope FAZ can sort out HRs contract ASAP. We need to have a coach with a long term plan and vision, and the way things are going it has become almost comical. I’m a fan of HR aka PE teacher, aka porno star (why this I dunno) and I really think we can benefit from maintaining him for the next 4 yrs.
He is not the greatest coach in the world but he has ambition and I wish he would stay and get Zambia and himself to the next level. This is the biggest problem with foreign coaches…loyalty. Even though based on what you have said his loyalty is not in question since he hasn’t explicitly said he has applied for this or that job. We’ll find out the truth soon enough, either way I would prefer an average coach with Zambias long term plans in mind than a flash in the pan. I like HR and I have defended him on this blog, but some loyalty is in order… look at Paulsen he was criticized and dragged through the mud, but he always delivered results and stayed loyal (that dude would still be coaching zed today if he had his way) until FAZ figured that 3rd place was not good enough and we have been hurting ever since.
Brother Positive thinking, I think HR has been loyal. He’s seeing his contract through to May. What he has done is wise. Have FAZ offered him a new contract as of today? To the best of my knowledge no. All that has been said on their part and that of President Banda is that they want him to stay. Obviously we live in a competitive world so they have to sweeten the pot. All HR is doing is looking at options in case in doesn’t get that contract or if the conditions are not good. If I am a musician like JK or Danny and I have a contract for say, 10 million to produce a album for Chipololopolo Records and that album generates K100m, I would want my second contract to be much better. Whether HR haters like it or not, his stock went up while coaching Zambia, just like Porterfield’s or Metsu’s when they worked with Zambia and Senegal respectively. They have/had families to feed so they cashed in regardless of whether they were successful or not where they went. They got paid. So HR is doing what he has to do and he hasn’t said much apart from the fact that he wants to coach a big team. NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT because I’m sure all politicians from a lowly ward or district chairman want to be President of the country at some point. That’s the ultimate in politics. Meanwhile you have sources claiming to know all HR’s plans. Imagine at your jobs if some source was always saying about you, “Mulenga has applied for this job, or Mulenga has applied for that job.” It might be news the first time but not the second time. My friend, a top journalist friend of mine says that a real professional journalist or editor would not publish the second or third rumor or speculation until something concrete is confirmed. So don’t get angry with Renard. Question the medium that is producing all these unsourced stories. Why not call Renard himself and ask him?
Am afraid, football in Zambia is political. Most bloggers here are either mad or something not good to say. HR is human and has ambitions. Why shouldn’t he seek greener pasture.
Its up to FAZ to snatch this dude before others do. Why haven’t faz tabled his contract issue up to now? In this country, we are not just serious people.
Who can suggest two names of coaches who are good enough to drill the national team? Can FAZ employ any better foreign coach at $10pin? Or local and raw coaches at 10milion.
I believe after the dust settle, HR will be a Zambian coach again.
Comrade Lovely, you are spot on. I guess FAZ always wait until the last minute to get things done. In addition to sorting out the coaching issue, I personally would also want to see a stadium in Lusaka. Either a renovated, updated and expanded Independence Stadium, or a completely new structure with a massive capacity. Then it would be nice if FAZ and the govt. could push those companies that run those once glorious sports complexes by national assembly to renovate them, fix that road with pot holes and invite World Cup-bound teams to train in Zambia before preceding to South Africa. The latter should have been planned and done a long time ago.
HR feels comfortable in Franco speaking countries…he has rejected Tanzania, is toying with Zambia.. and wants Gabon..(maybe more money)…because Gabon is a non entity in African football, and he is gunning for Senegal which like gabon is French speaking.. its as simple as that…
LET HIM JUST GO!!!!! PERIOD
How many countries are HR going to be liked to?FAZ should sit down with him and find out what he wants,if he wants to stay then give him a new contract,if he wants to go then well and good.we move on,all these rumours are are not helping us,yesterday it was nigeria, cameroon, senegal etc, todays its tanzania and gabon, tomorrow it will be comoros islands..we really need to put a stop to all this

@Justice Kafusha
evil renard never cared about the finger that feed hm.He shud go and insult the Gabonese ifwe twakana
@Kai Kai
Well the man is on holiday, and like I said things will be cleared up soon. Ine I still feel that we need someone who is going to commit to building a serious national team. I strongly believe that if we want to be in Brazil in 2014 we should hire the man to take us there now, in fact yesterday. HR has been good as far as I’m concerned, but this talk of bigger teams and moving on is good for HR, but it is not good for Zambia.
I have no quarrels or issues with his ambitions, but FAZ and us Zed peeps are on a mission and unless our ambitions are mutually beneficial then what is the point. I would rather a person whose ambition it is to build a ’small’ team into a world beater take over, than a person who is using us as a stepping stone, because in the short term we do get a minor success here and there, but in the long term we are stuck with rebuidling as soon as the mentor leaves.
I think FAZ and HR may have already talked and FAZ already know what his intentions are because there is no way they can just sit back and watch all this..
by the way, felix katongo played his 2nd game consecutive game for sundowns though they lost 2-0 to jomo cosmos effectively handing the title to supersport who also lost but without nkausu in the side..felix was a 73 minute sub..mbesuma as usual was missing in action for swallows..clifford played the final 45min in aces 2-0 loss to kaizer chiefs..chintu kampamba again played 90min in amazulus win over santos,he has played in all the games since he returned from the afcon..muzo and mweene all played full games for their teams while chivuta was a 2nd half sub..
Yes guys, Kalu will have told HR what’s what in private already because they have a good relationship. RB announced what he thinks very early. HR made it clear his “ambitions” all along…
Wait and see who get’s the IC job, who get’s Nigeria and who get’s the Cam job, then we’ll hear if HR is staying or going.
Just to play devils advocate again, of all the coaches in the world why should we have a coach who doesn’t really want to coach us? However much money we pay HR, it might not be impressive to him when he thinks “big teams”, but for that money we still want to be paying a coach is going to work like HR does, but also put in extra blood and sweet.
HR deserves a good team to coach, but we also deserve a good coach to coach us.
This story is getting tiresome. The Republican President says he wants HR to stay. FAZ will do what the President says (or implies). Ambition has its place and HR is entitled to it. But you do not throw that in your employer’s face. He no doubt is aware of where FAZ (Kalu) stands in terms of retaining him. But it is obvious his heart is not with Zambia. FAZ would be wise to start shopping for a new coach.
If HR wants to go theres nothing we can do, but can we get a coach who has Zambia in his mind. Not someone who stays behind to show guys he is available for a job, but someone who after being eliminated comes home and tells his players its time to start over. Thats what I want!!! And I don’t blame HR, he is like any of us, but I want commitment..and that at this moment should be above all else, because we have Brazil to think about…I want a guy who says in 4 yrs I will be taking Zambia to the world cup and I don’t care if we are ranked 190 in the world… thats the guy I want. I respect HR and wish him all the luck in the world, but gentlemen… this is the time we start planning for London 2012, Brazil 2014, and AFCON 2012… lets do it.
Zamfoot I heard on ZNBC radio 2 ( 7 hrs) news that Mbola is in Zambia. Is it true? what has happened to the trials?
Guys its time for us to have plan B ….while renard is playing his cards and keeping us in a limbo…we should also show him that he is not the only fish in the sea!…….lets also start fishing for coaches around, this will make him make up his mind whether to stay or leave…or else we will have a coaching crisis like Nigeria…..Lets do this before the AFCON qualifiers begin ……please…..VIVA CHIPOLOPOLO…VIVA KALAMPA!
It is simple and plain-if HR has found a better job, let him state clearly that he is not going to renew his contract. By doing so he is not breaching any of his contractual obligation. That way both parties will be better prepared and we are not blaming him for wanting to coach a bigger team or get more money after all no one is allegic to money. We do not have a luxury of procastinating for long period we need to be very decisive.@Kai Kai
Yes, it was reported on ZNBC radio that Mbola is back in the country. This doesn’t sound too good. Kelvin Kasama reports that the boy only played trained one day with the reserve team and one day with main team.
Mbola didn’t seem to say anything about a contract.
Yaba ! Kalepuka ! This doesnt sound good indeed. Zamfoot, any concrete data on this report ? Meanwhile, are we playing any freindly on March 3, the FIFA day for such games. We cant even organise Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, or even Angola with each team meeting its costs ?
When HARVE WAS HIRED, THERE WAS SO MUCH TALK OF HIM BEING A PHYSICAL TRAINER. I WONDER WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THAT TALK NOW? AGAIN WHEN WE LOST TO ZAMZIBAR THE GUY WAS ALMOST FIRED AT THE INSTIGATION OF CARELESS TALK FROM PROFFESSED ‘COACHES’. NOW WE APPEAR TO BE PLEADING WITH HIM. THIS SHOULD SERVE AS A LESSON TO ZAMBIANS WHO JUST TALK WITHOUT FACTS AND AVOID CARE LESS TALK IN THE FUTURE. YES, CRITICISM IS GOOD BUT LET IT BE GENUINE. ZAMBIA IS AMONG VERY FEW COUNTRIES IN AFRICA WITH VERY POOR INFRASTRUCTURE, YET PEOPLE DREAM OF WINNNING THE AFCON TITTLE. THIS CAN ONLY HAPPEN IN YOUR DREAMS GENTLEMEN. …. TO BE CONTINUED, HAVE TO ATTEND TO OTHER ISSUES.
How come FAZ has not mentioned anything till now about the way forward, should Renard no t renew his contract, they are a bunch of incompetent people who only want to act when disaster strikes. Thats why we will never improve
Renard should go even though we played well at afcon the other games we have not played well. even cameroun out played us. who has a betea record between renard and patrick phiri. c’mon zambians lets be like the brazilians and eygptians, there coaches are brazilians and they understand the brazilian football culture , on top of that they are patriotic. and to FAZ support our local coaches. local is laka
yes, Emma is back in lusaka. no deal was done with spurs. Zamfoot wil exclusively give you the details of behind the scenes concerning mbola’s move to pyunik. How the vultures was a share from the deals.
and the reasons why spurs sent him back.yes, they stil want him but…
I fail to understand what your point is. When HR was hired by Zambia he was a physical trainer. The fact that he got Zambia to the quarters and is being looked at by other countries does not in any way change the fact that he was a physical trainer. It does not mean that because now his C.V has gone up a notch it changes the fact that he was a physical trainer, THAT IS WHAT HE WAS LIKE IT OR NOT!!!
Coach or not losing to Zanzibar was a load of crap. there is no justification for Zambia to lose to zanzibar whether you are using locals only or have no infrastructure. Zanzibar probably does not have better infrastructure than us thats why FIFA finds it fitting not to even register them.
Do you think it is only infrastructure that makes you win things??? what infrastructure did zambia have all the times it reached the final and semi-final of the Afcon???
Like I said I totally dont see your point. HR was a physical trainer when he came. Even if he becomes the next biggest coach in the world it does not take away from the fact that when he came to Zambia he was a physical trainer.
This is sooooo disheartening, another Mayuka situation. Hope you have names Zamfoot whe you do give us the exclusive we need to know whose ar_e to stick our boots up for bringing down our soccer youngsters.
Regarding Mbola
I have heard there is a case going at FIFA involving Mbola’s present club. It seems Mbola signed a professional contract with his club contrary to FIFA regulations that do not allow players under the age of 18 to sign a contract. This is the same thing that put Chelsea in trouble. There are details in the Times of Zambia about this issue and both his former club in Zambia and some FAZ official have confirmed this
Mbola’s Amernian club risk sanctions
By SHAMAOMA MUSONDA
DEFENDER Emmanuel Mbola’s team in Armenia, Yereven Pyunik, risks FIFA sanctions after it made the player sign a professional contract as a teenager.
Article 19 (1) of the FIFA constitution states that international transfers of players are only permitted if the player is over the age of 18.
FAZ has since reported Pyunik to FIFA over the move after Mbola’s local club, KCM-FAZ Division One North Mining Rangers, complained about the contract.
Under FIFA statutes underage players are not supposed to sign professional contracts, and Pyunik might completely lose the 16-year-old who has now been linked with a million-pound move to English Premiership side, Tottenham Hot Spurs.
Both FAZ general secretary George Kasengele and Mining Rangers director, Elijah Chileshe, confirmed the development in separate interviews yesterday.
Kasengele said the players’ statutes were clear on who can sign a professional contract and who cannot adding, Mbola’s case was contravening not just FIFA rules, but the International Labour Organisation.
FIFA has been acting tough on clubs making young players sign professional contracts likening it to slave and child labour.
He said it was an illegal move and that the world soccer-governing body had committees that deal with such issues.
“We received a complaint from Mining Rangers over the illegal contract and we wrote FIFA and all we can do now is wait on their ruling,” Kasengele said.
Mining Rangers director, Chileshe said his club recently noticed that Mbola had been lured into signing a professional contract despite being under 18 years, forcing the club to complain to FAZ.
“When Mbola returned, he showed us a contract he had been forced to sign and we discovered it was a professional contract. It is against the FIFA rules and it is something we talked about with them when we released him to them.
“So we complained to FAZ about the anomaly who have since taken the case up with FIFA,” said Chileshe.
Mbola is in newspaper headlines in England where it has been reported that Hot Spurs had signed the youngster after impressing at the Africa Cup of Nations for 1 million (about K7.4 billion), with Chileshe denying any knowledge about the North London club deal.
Chileshe said Pyunik breached the FIFA statutes by forcing a 16-year-old player to sign a professional contract and that he was frantically trying to have the issue resolved quickly enough.
Part of Article 19 states there are three exceptions where the rule applies; that (a) The player’s parents move to the country in which the new club is located for reasons not linked to football; (b) The transfer takes place within the territory of the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) and the player is aged between 16 and 18.
And (c) that the player lives no further than 50km from a national border and the club with which the player wishes to be registered in the neighbouring association is also within 50km of that border.
The maximum distance between the player’s domicile and the club’s headquarters shall be 100km. In such cases, the player must continue to live at home and the two associations concerned must give their explicit consent.
Recently FIFA banned English Premiership giant, Chelsea from buying any players for two years after an illegal move on teenage leftie, Gael Kakuta a ban, which was only lifted after an appeal to the World football arbitration body.
All having been said and done, my question is, what is in the best interest of the player??
Should Pyunik be banned for gromming one of our youngsters into a star honestly!! Obviously when international interest grew for the young man Pyunik just like all the maning Rangers people like Chileshe and also FAZ saw an opportunity to cash in but now Maning wanted to cash in without having to fork out anything to Pyunik eyt Pyunik are the ones that have exposed this kid. obody seems to care about what happens to the player, they are all concerned about the money behind the totenham move thats all. Zambia lets stop the nonsense politicks and think about the player for once.
Indeed sad news for Zambia and the young International anyway time will come. Never lose hope you are still a teen and have enough talent to claim for a top Team in Europe. All the best Mbola. Ba Zamfoot Ka update Ka Table Ya ba KCM Please we are about to resume the league few weeks from now. Sure Sure Ikalikuonesa Va last Year mu 2009.
@Bododo
Gig Steve from SA,
Before this Guy took over Chipolopolo, our game had actually died !. Our nation team players could not even trap a ball. My problem is seeing the same people who opposed the physical trainer saying the physical trainer is a coach and should stay. we did not want the physical trainer then, we dont need him now since he is, as you rightly put it, a physical trainer. In fact this should be an opptune time to let him go. Lets not speak from both sides of our mouth. Lets stick to our principles and values whether rain or sun shine.
If this is then true, surely the FAZ’s Players’ Status Committee should have advised the young man and whoever was/is the agent for Mbola should be held culpable. We cannot afford to be making a blunder each time a Zambian player moves for a professional career. In any case, contracts involving minors (under 18) are void.@Justice Kafusha
Age cheatin is just catchin up wt mbola.how cn he sign whn he knows he is 16.dis may cost him a plac @ spurs
hahahahh so if he just said the truth about his age he would have no problem. now age cheating has cheated him. if you are 24 just say the truth . if you are good you are good. if you are bad even if you say you are 15 you are still bad
Why didnt mining rangers protest wen da boy was at da club? nw dat spurs ve issued money rangers want to complain, i c da issue of chinkeleko here, sad for the boy, nt al hope is lost
People please stop debating on Renard as far as am concerned he is not the best coach for us & we hold the money + position so let play our own tune. Come on jst because 1 shop is closed then you sleep hungry! no! go to another 1. Lets end this HR talk and look for options. Sad for mbola these huligans are confusing the young man further.
I hear you, but change is constant and its not the strongest that survive its the ones that move with change. I for one dont think HR has achieved a whole lot. I dont agree with most of what his supporters say. I think he is a very average coach getting to much attention. For me infrastructure or not, we are a side worth mentioning in every semi final of every Afcon. At the time HR was getting employed the issue was not really the fact that he was a physical trainer, it was really his lack of experience. Now for the period he has been with Zambia he has gained some experience as such obviously how people will see him now and how they saw him then will be different. So its not that people are not sticking to their principles, its just things have changed and people are now looking at things from this changed situation perspective.
I wonder on the guys who insist on bringing out this age cheating thing. It benefits no one to keep preaching about it. Lets focus on the issue at hand, who is trying to cash in on Mbola at the expense of him taking his career forward, thats the issue!! If age cheatng was such a detrimental part of our soccer, how come countries like Nigeria which have even been banned by FIFA for age cheating have achieved sooooo much. If age cheating was so bad then West African teams should be doing very poorly but no, they win the olympics, the win the afcon, they shine at all but the main world cup. so whats the point on insisting about age cheating when it helps nothing!!
Seriously, I hav been following zambian football for some time and I must say that we have always qualified to the afcon. I know we have’nt been to the quaters in many years but I believe we would have done it without this guy. If u look at how we did at the qualifiers, the story tells it all. We were even lucky to qualify in the first place coz I thought we were out. I gave up for the fact that we had to travel to rwanda. just imagine if rwanda was not a bad team and won some matches, we would b talking about 2012. zambia has always played attractive football with or without renard. IF HE WANTS TO GO, LET HIM GO.
Its sad we have to go back on our progress.Coaches come and go.Who is coming to coach zed?we all know zed has never attracted a reputable coach.we pay peanuts and talk too much.who will coach zed and how much will we give him?let the HR haters respond.
Au serious our game had died and players cudnt trap the ball,am surprised by yo coment,if i may ask u,in whch error did we win cosafa and cecafa, was it with Renard or who,whn zambia hammered south africa 3goals in 19min who was trapping the balls,Ghana 2008 Egypt had an unbeaten run up2 the final, dou remember only zambia managed to draw with Egypt, the same team ua saying had died it lost to cameroon and finished the log with 4points 5goals didnt the same team of Renard lose to cameroon and finish with 4 points lol u missed a point brother u wud av said the team has changed nt tht it was dead, hope u understand that in death u cnt kick a ball.Sympathy is gud bt lets nt 4get history.Evil Renard shud go.
Here we go again. According the 13hrs news. Totenham have insisted that Mining Rangers and Pyunik sort out Mbola’s contractual differences before going ahead. Is this another Pandora’s Box ?
Age cheating is a thing of the past in football as can be evidenced from Nigeria mysteriously dropping its under-17 players after some bone marrow scans. I don’t know why people have a hard time accepting this boy’s age. Technology exists to prove his real age and I think claiming this boy is older that he is just borders on being haters so to speak. On the matter at hand, provisions exist where a club can sign an underage player but he has to be tied to an academy and have a provision for his education tied in. Freddy Adu of the US signed a contract at the age of 14 and was able to take advantage of that provision. It just seems to me like a case of the usual suspects in FAZ not getting a cut hence this outcry. I think the Armenians and Spurs especially know what the laws are and i do not think a team like Spurs would take a huge risk like this in light of what happened to Chelsea recently
The only smart Zambian player is Jacob. But when Mbola went to Armenia it was reported that his father went to live with him because “he was a teenage.”
Its strange how we can pass all sorts of judgements on this Mbola issue when we only have very little knowledge. Even in a small claims court, you are still expected to present your facts as the accuser. The accused is also given an opportunity to be heard. Have we got all the facts on this case? I doubt. All this speculation and judgment is retrogressive to Zambian Football and a few people that work hard to raise the standard of the game. Zamfoot, can we have real infor on this matter so that we know what is going on before we crucify somebody here.
the boy is almost making it big and then you start all the claiming and all that he is your player. Com’on let the boy live his dream. I think that this is a serious rpoblem in Zambia where you would not try and commit to see you friend develop or reach their best because of selfish reasons. Lets be like Nigerians who stand for their own
Justice, the timing of the motions in that article are spectacular!!! We wait an entire year to pull them up? Just when we feel like we want a piece of the pie? FAZ honestly! When a European club gives one of our players a proffesional contract, we through it back in their face? When they don’t we complain?
FAZ should think about what this says about the way we want to conduct buisness… Think twice FAZ and Mining Rangers!!!
Either sell players early and let them go or keep them and try and make them great to then sell them for a better price! You can’t have both!
Bob i’m with you. Minning Rangers have smelled the money mudala 1milliom Pounds nipakulu! It looks like they want to make a killing also. What contract did Ranngers sign with the guys from Armenia from the begining?
Because of big money involved then this confusion starts.
Look at Mayuka all that confusion was all because of the “Benjamins”.
You have hit the nail on the head.
Guys, i just fear for the knock on effect this going to have as nobody will want to sign players from Zambia when they see all the strings that come attached with it.
The truth of the matter is that in Zambia, we can’t keep players with pay and we can’t keep them challenged through competition as only two teams play continental football. At the moment we don’t win the Champions League and the conditions are such that we don’t have leg to stand on, it’s best we let the best players go completely. Let them go abroad to be successful and hopefully one day that will result in Zambian players being better valued and recognised from the star. It’s either that or we loan out players which then becomes harder because i think clubs want to be able to sell players on… Until we were in a stronger standing on the continent we can’t dictate as we wish.
Mbola is 16, he has the ability to play with the pros, we are happy for him to do so and as such sign professional contracts. He did so and we should not have any complaints. Don’t protest, just tell us what can be improved for the next Mbola that comes along.
I think you are missing the point. I dont think mbola at his age and his level of exposure in football can fully understand the FIFA statutes. Niether could his father, if at all he has any role in all this. The player’s agent wants to benefit at each level. This goes for Rangers aswel. So mbola needs support and sympathy before valtures tire him apart. The lad has masive potential for once a Zambian is being courted for the right reasons.
This has to be a success story in my view. If Tottenham want to sign Mbola, the rewards go to Yereven Pyunik!
It should be a good example what can happen when a European club signs a Zambian, Yereven Pyunik took a chance on a Zambian and took care of him, let them reap the rewards as they deserve it for doing so!!! Don’t show that when this happens all you get is trouble… Mining Rangers agreed the terms at the time, they can’t protest a year on?
Mining rangers are just causing uneccesary confusion, what other teams do is when they sell a young player, they include a clause in his contract that entitles them to a percentage of the transfer fee if the player is signed on by a big club,if they did not do it then thats there own problem..mbola belongs to pyunik, all this talk of him being below 18yrs is irrelevant..gael kakuka the chelsea player signed a pre-contract agreement with lens when he was 16yrs old, thats the reason why chelsea ended up paying
1 million quid for him, kakuta himself was fined over £600,000 by FIFA for breach of contract by joining chelsea ..mining rangers should be careful because its mbola who might suffer from all this….
@Sibs
I agree, so all this time mining rangers didn’t know this guy they sent to armenia was on a contract??? If they didn’t then that is just very dumb on their part and yet now that Mbola could be moving, they all of a sudden pull out paperwork saying such. They shouldn’t get any money neither since technically he can’t be their player because they don’t have a contract with him either.
Which ever way this cookie crumbles, pyunik can’t sell the player. The only ones who can get compensation are Mining Rangers because Mbola is their youth player. Ba Mining Rangers should have sorted this with the club instead of running directly to FIFA “do not pass GO”
Any news on a friendly on 3 March. Mwamona, the coach is not around…this is the sort of thing I was talking about. I am supporter of HR, but my dear friends FAZ should sit him down, table an offer and if the answer is no lets move on. We’ve missed the 3rd March window to get in a friendly because of this.
Usually, people are willing to cognise the keys of productive definition essay creating. Your superb note just about this good post would become a good base for such people. I guess that even custom essay writing service takes such releases as a source for the research paper literature review. Thence, your performing technique is very useful for people.
This is mind boggling! A whole year goes by before anyone raises the issues. As mentioned above, this does not speak well of FAZ and the way they conduct business. Secondly, what I do not understand is, if Mbola was too young to sign for the Armenian team, what claim does Rangers have on him. He should have been too young to sign for them as well. Money surely brings out the wolves out of sheep’s clothing!
actually mbola is in the country to iron out a few logistics with mining rangers and then fly bak to England.

This is ridiculous, another Mayuka saga?! Firstly, as mentioned how has it taken Mining Rangers one year to notice that they were paid a TRANSFER fee for the boy? Secondly, FAZ issued an ITC for the player. Again what did they think they were signing? Thirdly, Emme played in the Champions League qualifiers with Pyunik. If he wasn’t resistered properly then wouldn’t UEFA have picked it up?
Guys, Elijah Chileshe of Mining Rangers is being manipulatOed by someone at FAZ who wants money from Spurs. Even if this course of action has the potential to ruin the young man’s career. This is the worst case of selfishness that I have seen.
VIVA petition. Abash FAZ!!

FACT! PA ZEDI NI ZEEE…….
Gabon have already appointed Gernot Rohr as their coach. Renard should be patient and just continue to work with the Zambian national team for now and his time will come. He is a good coach but you can’t just shot to the top in one day, he must continue to build his way up in Zambia were he is wanted at the moment.
Kalampa wa bola! Nizee! Guys is it true that totenum coach said he doesnt even knw Mbola and that maybe the boy only trained wit the academy? Sad news if true, ninga info ya signing fumile kwe?
From the post
ARMEMIA-based national team defender Emmanuel Mbola has said that he is not going back to his club as he is not happy with his contract with the club.
In an interview after a brief trial spell at English club Tottenham Hotspurs, Mbola said that he will stick around until his contract problems were resolved.
“I am not going back there (Pyunik Yerevan) because I have issues with my contract. I could not sign for Totenham because I have to finalise things with my club,” he said.
Mbola said he had left his issue in the hands of his manager and the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ).” The former Mining Rangers player, said that the Tottenham trip was a great experience.
“It was fantastic because I trained with the first and second team. They were happy with me and I should be going back maybe next week depending on how fast the issues are sorted out here,” Mbola said.
And his local manager Elijah Chileshe said that he had written to FAZ over the contract Mbola signed as a 15 year old with Pyunik Yerevan.
“I have written to FAZ to deal with the matter because they made him sign a contract as 15 year old which is against the rules; he was a minor,” Chileshe said.
He said that the player would be around until FAZ dealt with the matter.
Mbola signed a contract which binds him to the Armenian club until 2011.
The 16-year-old player is currently training with the under 17 national team.

Any update on Zanaco game? Chelsea 2 Man City 4 this is good now Manu can take advantage
ZANACO have won 4-0.
if 4-0 is true then big ups to ZANACO….maybe you will net disappoint afterall. You can emulate Zesco and go a step further!!!!
I want to express my disgust to the Post cuting by Gametime 12 and NOT Gametime 12. Mbola is SAID (Reported) that he is not going back to his club as he is not happy with his contract with the club, but is QUOTED saying ”I am not going there because I have issues with my contract….I have to finalise things with my club.” Such reporting is subjective and speculative. Having issues doesnt necessarily mean you are unhappy you moron of a reporta
May be Arsenal Ze bigeh!
If this is true Congrats Zanaco. Keep it up. Tough opponents waiting.
Breaking News:
ZANACO has beaten Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) 4-0 to qualify to the second round of the CAF Champions League.
ZANACO lost the opening preliminary match 1-0 in Kampala on February 12, but still qualify with an overwhelming goal aggregate of 4-1.
Postzambia.com
zanaco and ura are playing tomorrow so i dont know why everybody is posting false score lines
Nice! Be careful you don’t score to many goals early on Zanaco, save some for later.
It seems Zanaco are not good travelers. Zesco did well last year each time they played away.
Good luck to Zanaco but am still not convinced about the performance in at this level of the competition. They need to prove to us that are in this competition not juts mare participants.
Whn most pipo thot zanaco wl nt do us gud.bt they ve proven most of us wori, wel done guys

what a nice goal by mbesuma mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
oh did collins play 4swallows? zanaco cn go far as long as they work hard.
This story unfolding about is deeply sad. This is selfishness at its best, i suspect the people involved don’t want to come clear or tell the truth. The young man is a very bright prospect, there is no doubt about that . However, there is no way he is 16 years. Even if he only reached grade 9 ku sukulu, surely, can he be the age he is reported to be?? Why didn’t FAZ alert the nation that the player was not eligible to play at that level due to his age?? We are left to suspect some administrators in FAZ are just there to get cuts from players transfer deals. Chisamba Lungu ended up playing for Georgia under 20, not long ago, why is FAZ quite on this as well??. I will not be surprised if we end up with a case of player trafficking
@Man ceasor
Moroka Swallows are in the CAF competition and they wired a team of the islands of Comoros 5-1 with Mbesuma coming on as a sub to put the icing on the scoreline in injury time.
@nsomba

Franco-German Gernot Rohr has signed a contract with the Gabonese Football Association that will see him manage the team till 2012. Rohr who succeeds former Bordeaux team mate Alain Giresse, will have as assistants José Cobos, and former Gabonese international Pierre Aubame Eyang, father of Pierre Eymerik and Willy.
The new Gabon coach started his career in the 1970s at legendary side Bayern Munich alongside the likes of Franz Beckenbauer, Sepp Maier, Gerd Muller, Uli Hoeness and Paul Breitner. He later moved to Mannheim, then Kickers Offenbach before signing for Bordeaux in 1977.He stayed with the French club till 1989.
During his time at Bordeaux Gernot Rohr played alongside his predecessor Alain Giresse, Marius Trésor, Jean Tigana and Bernard Lacombe, all former French Internationals. It was at Bordeaux that he began his caoching career first being appointed sporting director, then in charge of the training academy and then assistant coach where he trained stars like Zinedine Zidane, Christophe Dugarry and Bixente Lizarazu.
Between 2002 and 2005, he was in charge of OGC Nice. He also had Etoile Sahel of Sousse and FC Nantes where he quit in December 2009.
Gernot Rohr will be coaching a national team for the first time. The former defender told journalists in Libreville that he had the intentions of staying in Gabon.
The objectives which have been assigned to me are clear : make the Panthers one of the top teams on the continent capable of winning a title. ” The task will not be easy “. He said. He promised to do his best to make the team more offensive but added that it will also depend on the quality of the players at his disposal.
Thanks for the info winza i guess there is bit misinformation on the websites that I use as a source for football results i.e .goalzz.com and soccerway.com the had the game as being played today @ abena mazi lets maintain respect for each other .If I got something you simply correct me not just coming out and disrespecting me this the same reason why some of us have stopped commenting on this blog as much before it has lost that sense of respect we had for each other some people feel the come and insult whom ever they feel like insulting at anytime .Zamfoot I strongly urge you to bring back the code conduct we had before because I can see some new bloggers dont have the same love we have for the Zambian game

HR will end up without a team at the rate things are moving.FAZ should have a chat with him so that we know if he still wants to stay. Am not a fan of this hero worshiping type of behavior FAZ is exhibiting.
Zamfoot are not misleading us. The topic itself ends with question marks. Furthermore, part of the first sentence says, ‘Renard is believed to be closer to becoming’.
aleya fye mwe. twanaka
If this story is true, then FAZ should not hide in RB having said he would ensure everything is done to keep this now big headed BOY HR. Why should we always be taken for a ride as a Nation. I am sick and tired of mediocrity in management in Zambia at all levels. Besides why should FAZ only cry about the so called misused FIFA law on interference when it is in the negative. If RB’s offer is taken as law then it amounts to interference as I know it is only the prerogative of the FAZ Executive to decide who becomes coach and besides it appears some FAZ members are not happy with HR as far back as PRE-AFCON 2010 when HR was almost sent on leave. Great Kalu please show leadership by engaging this SMALL BOY HR in conversation (forgetting about him wrongly attributing the rise of soccer only to you and RB which was myopic) so that we know whether he has a heart for Zambia or not-ME THINKS NOT. Twanaka nomba and this is the progress people were saying we had achieved by qualifying to the quarter finals. When will we ever learn to be STRATEGIC in our dealings? Also if affiliates are against your GS (his submission that just because FIFA rate FAZ Secretariat highly is reason for him to stay doesn’t hold water, but what is more important in my opinion is the service given to your affiliates that put your SUPERIORS the FAZ Executive in power get that I am not sure was one of the benchmarks for their rating your Secretariat highly). GOD HELP US!
Meant to say “If your affiliates are unhappy with your GS, saving him is recipe for disaster as how do we progress the game with an unwanted GS”.
A typical example is this Pakistani Deputy Managing Director at some Bank that always thought he was bigger than Zambians who he ensured were exploited simply because his vanquished top fish who chaired the bank protected him. When Zambians resigned he would say, let them go as they will come back (myopic). As we speak, the chap was unceremoniously kicked out last Friday and the rest is history. Sorry to disgress, but i thought i could give an example from a LEADERSHIP perspective. “A good leader should see the ship in the eyes of his passengers (AFFILIATES) and not his superiors (FIFA)”!
Zamfoot, where do you get these informstion from becuase we have heard that Gabon has signed an experienced 56 year old frenchman as their new coach. Where is all this Herve Renard talk coming from.
@Uncle Bobs
Clearly, whatever is presented to FIFA is very different from what see on the ground.
It’s indeed a month before and as most of us here said was “Progress” made towards 2012 and 2014, what’s on the ground shows a lack of strategy as all we are seeing are people trying to save their skins. What we expect to top the Agenda at the next AGM is a Strategic Inflection Point wherein a sustainable plan of moving the game forward is charted. What is interesting to see that the same campaign agents that were in the forefront at the last elections at the ones petitioning the Executive. There is simply chaos in the FAZ Executive as the VeePee thinks he’s sidelined something i feel Kalu should have avoided having cried same murder under Mulonga. Pivoty Simawanza was threatened to be thrown out of the meeting by Kalu after being accused of campaigning by donating kit (campaign strategy used by the Executive last time around that seems to be haunting them) to clubs. Unlike most Zambians that want to see who’s wrong or right, for me my cry to have people respecting the constitution by sitting down and have regular workshops with all stakeholder and not to base operations on past glory that has no place in contemporary leadership/management. People should swaloow their pride and engage people like Miyanda Kahari, David phiri, Chibamba Kanyama,Yusuf Dodia etc as soccer is beyond being a former player. Ba Kalu rise up to the occasion and have your allegiance to the institution (FAZ and its constitution) and not people (friends that follow you blindly and hero worship you that you seem to encourage). When we look at the people that you have surrounded yourself with, they simply do not inspire confidence. Your only advisors should have been people like Andrew Kamanga, Boniface Mwamelo, Reuben Kamanga etc that possess knowledge (guides people) and not wealth (people guide it). Kindly take this as objective advice as you were my hero on the field and i wouldn’t want you to delete the rich history you have built for yourself.
Well i still maintain that Herve Renard is a brilliant coach and FAZ should ensure that he is retained as Head Coach for Chipolopolo so that we start working on a long term plan for the 2014 World Cup. If it were not for HR little known players like Emmanuel Mbola would have never been given a chance to prove themselves in the national team. Thank God for HR our players can now be invited for trials at top English Premiership Sides. If we bring in a local coach, he will continue to play the same names that HR has since discovered and will not tap any local talent.

The debate is not about HR being brilliant or not, but his conduct that shows no commitment to Zambia. Having discovered Mbola or not cannot be used to hold us at ransom. Players have been discovered before just like some may claim that Patrick Phiri (i suppose he falls in Suzyo Banda’s lexicon of local coaches) discovered Sinkala and Makufi that were also spotted by big teams. I just hope at the rate things (Greediness of CORRUPT SOCCER HAWKERS-now ZANACO are questioning how an ITC was issued for Sunzu to go to TP) are going, we never get to see the Spurs chance bypassing Mbola.
