Premier League side City of Lusaka officials are believed to be unhappy with the way the club was excluded from featuring in this season’s Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity shield which will see league Champions Zanaco take on Zesco United in Lusaka while title holders Power Dynamos will host Green Buffaloes on the Copperbelt with the venues yet to be announced.
The Woodlands Stadium outfit’s argument is that usually the top four teams from the previous season automatically qualify for the seasonal opener.
“We can’t understand why FAZ keep on changing the rules. It has been tradition that the top four teams play in the Charity Shield but to our surprise FAZ has decided to put Green Buffaloes because they played in the Barclays Cup final,” a disappointed official said Zambianfootball.net
“It’s unacceptable for FAZ to handle things like that. If they wanted to make changes they should have informed their affiliates (clubs) at the start of the season not like this were rules just pop up at the mid-night.

When other people are talking because they see alot of wrong in the mgt of our soccer, you play “good boy” and keep quiet. You only complain now because you are affected. Perhaps you should be left to benefit from your silence. Good lucky.

In europe the charity shield is played between the league champions and the winners of the cup,in our case it would have been zanaco and power only, what FAZ simply did is pick the winners and runners up from the kcm league and the barclays cup and made a draw, simple,i do not see anything contraversial about that, power are in the draw not because they finished 3rd in the league but because they won the barclays cup,the problem FAZ made is that they did not explain the criteria they used to select the teams…

Chansa on Bucs` performance
Despite facing another unsuccessful season, Orlando Pirates’ prodigal son Isaac Chansa assures the Bucs faithful that there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
The Buccaneers last won major silverware back in the 2002/03 season, when they won the League, but the Zambian international, who was man of the match in last night’s 2-0 win over Amazulu at the Orlando Stadium, is confident that success can’t elude Bucs indefinitely.
“The one thing I noticed when I arrived back at the club was that the team has a lot of quality players, so I don’t see why this team can’t be successful,”
“I know the League is gone, but we are definitely going to do better next season,” says Chansa, who rejoined the team from Swedish side, Helsingborgs.
“We are definitely going to do better in the League, because like I said this team has quality. I can promise the Bucs fans that from now on they are going to see good things from us,” he says.
Chansa, who is on a three-year contract in his second spell, further says that he is happy with his first two games since returning to Bucs.
“Against Wits it wasn’t so good, but against Amazulu it was better, so I’m happy. I’m also happy that the management has also managed to register me in time for the (CAF) Champions League, so I’m on my way to Botswana with the team and I look forward to helping the team win the match,” he says.
Bucs take on Gaborone United on Saturday in the first round of the Champions League.

Good for chansa, at his ‘age’…. Dont crucify me am thinkn aloud.
The FAZ issue well I believe its yet another ignominy. I dont see the logic on how Barclays Cup was chosen as a contributing part of the Charity Shield. They are lots of grey areas in this issue. I dont even want to think of the English Charity Shield yet. Let me analyse and question ours. Leting GBFC take part because they played in the finals of the Barclays Cup is absurd. What if they were the team that also won the KCM league? It means the rules would have taken yet another turn.?! If FAZ dint want the top 4 of the league to feature they would have gone for devision 1 or 2 winners. I dont see why rules should be changed any how. Every game has its traditional rules. I hope FAZ is not just pulling a ka muzungu anikonde move towards GBFC because its not sustainable and seriously pulls down the morale of other teams. FAZ come on get real your not dealing with children. Your making our game look bad. Imwe dont we have enough problems kansi..?! FAZ has failed to run the game let it be decentralised so that the league can be managed by another entity which wont have any aligences being owed to some people or groups.

FAZ at it again, muzugu ani konde for sure. Like I said before FAZ have no clear drafted documents with all these things. Munaile & Kalu just wake up in the morning and what ever they come up with in his dreams flys. Sorry for lack of a better word but the criteria used is utter nonsense. And by the way does FAZ feel so mighty and powerful that it feels it does not have to explain itself to the clubs in the ZPL?? I a also for the idea that the ZPL and FAZ should be run seperately, maybe then we wil see some sanity.

Simataa doesn’t talk from without. He researches and reads widely, not only soccer (Leadership, constitutions, banking etc). I have found it strange meeting some of the people that talk about him otherwise consulting both at his place of work and at home. Get to his home and see what i mean. To be in Simataa’s good books likeb the Post, you just have to be UPRIGHT,HONEST and of HIGH INTEGRITY. Some players have even been to him complaining of how they,ve been enslaved moving from one club to another. For me, someone who once forged his boss’s signature at a place of work and was subsequently fired can’t be in the forefront of our soccer and we expect to progress-this is not hearsay but a FACT that even the culprit if he’s reading knows too well about. but again in the Zambia we live in when people point out facts, CADRES/MINIONS and BOOTLICKERS will still support THIEVES and FRAUDSTERS. Cry my beloved country. It’s just like PACRO expecting companies to comply with annual returns when their own books are not in order. We are just a rotten nation. These are things we need to copy from leaders like Kagame that just decided to do away with primitivity. We need to take a developmental stance in all spheres of our lives (Politics, Sports, Business etc) if we want to change. Tuchinje bane and stop supporting THIEVES.

Did FAZ explain the change of rules?.I dont understand either.I think, its better to make alot of noise over such matters so that rules are followed.
