Swallows Coach: I really don’t care where Mbesuma is
Striker Collins Mbesuma’s future at South Africa ABSA Premiership side Moroka Swallows is under scrutiny after the 25 year old failed to report back on time from International where he was part of the Chipolopolo Boys that reached the quarter finals at the African Cup of Nations in Angola.
Mbesuma missed the Chipolopolo’s flight back from Angola with the rest of the team last Thursday and has now emerged that he was last seen at the national team’s hotel in the company of former Chipolopolo striker, Harry Milanzi.
“Milanzi came to see him and that’s he how remained behind in Angola,” the Zamfoot Crew source said.
While it was hoped that Mbesuma was going to fly directly to South Africa from Angola, his club coach and former Bayern Munich star Zobel revealed after Swallows’ goalless stalemate with Kaizer Chiefs on Tuesday that he is still AWOL.
“Who knows where Mbesuma got to, maybe Egypt. I really don’t care. I do not run after players. I have three other strikers,” Zobel said
As for disciplinary action, the former Bayern Munich star said: “That is up to the club and has nothing to do with me.”
But during a weekly FAZ media briefing yesterday, FAZ Communications Officer Erick Mwanza revealed that the striker was now back at his South African club though he said the association will issue an official statement after getting a report from national team manager Solly Pandor.
Meanwhile Isaac Chansa is likely to make his second debut for Orlando Pirates this weekend against BidVest Wits after missing out Wednesday’s 0-0 draw with log leaders Supersport United.
“I have been impressed by Chansa at training. He featured in the recent Africa Cup of Nations for Zambia and unlike my Bafana players, he looks sharp,” Bucs coach Rudi Krol said.
Davies Nkausu didn’t play for United this is despite impressing coach Gavin Hunt in the recent pre-season games.
Clifford Mulenga came off the bench and played the whole second half for Mpumalanga Black Aces.

there he goes again…mbesuma does it again
I won’t be surprised if this chap ends up like Emmanuel Zulu. He might have been bitter after finding himself as the 5th choice striker after Jacob, Chamanga, Mayuka, Singuluma in that order. From number 1 to number 5, he should just accept that is how things are at the moment, and work hard instead of doing the opposite
Mbesuma you should really do some serious thinking, because this is not only about football but the whole of your future. If you mess up do not expect as fans to be feeding you or buying sheki sheki, maybe you think your new friend Milanzi will help you. If you think GOD will help you then you are mistaken, because GOD helps those who help themselves
Mwaiche it is now or never for it is not too late
That is why we need a foreign coach, if it was a Zambian, Mbesuma would be playing despite his ill displine, I hope Mbesuma has stashed enough money for his future.
Zambia this time qualified to the quarte finals only because of other permutations, not because Zambia was exeptional
which permutations? iyo ni PHD.IN 2006 ZAMBIA LOST 2 GAMES (AGAINST GUINEA C 2-1 AND TUNISIA 4-1).WE ONLY BEAT S.A 1.
IS THAT WAT U SAY GUD?BE REALISTIC.
WHICH ZED COACH DO YOU THINK WILL TAKE ZED SOCCER HIGHER?
99% OF OUR COACHES DONT HAVE EDUCATION.THEY ARE JUST USING THE KNOWLEDGE THEY VE BCOZTHEY PLAYED FUTBO AT TIME.BUT MODERN FUTBO HAS CHANGED BEYOND RECOGNITION.U NEED A COACH WITH THEORY AND PRACTICAL.NO ZED COACH VE BEEN IN CLASSTO STUDY FUTBO, THEY JUST ATTEND MA SEMINARIES WHICH DO MORE HARM TO THEM THAN GOOD.
STOP DREAMING COME TO REALITIES.
ZAMBIA HAS GOT NO LONG PLANS FOR EVERYTHING.EVEN IF YOU GIVE ZED COACHES SCHOLARSHIPS (WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE), AS SOON AS THEY GET QUALIFICATIONS, THEY LL NOT STAY IN ZED BCOZ 1.THEY LL RECIEVE GOOD OFFERS FRO OTHER COUNTRIES 2.THEY LL B QUALIFIED 3.WE DONT APPRICIATE OURSELVES 4. THEY UNDERSTAND OUR LANGUAGES, THEREFORE LL UNDERSTAND WEN U TUKANA THEM MU STADIUM.
HW MANY DOCTORS DO ZED TRAIN AND LEAVE THE COUNTRY?WE DONT HAV PLANS FULL STOP.
Acccording to the Sowetan Newspaper he only reported back on Monday. Though for me i don’t know what to say to Collins. This Coach looked like he liked him but he’s had enough.
MBESUMA WHAT A USELESS PLAYER.
Is Collins Mbesuma normal?
HE SNEAKED OUT TO TRY HIS LUCK SOMEWHERE. WATCH THIS SPACE. FELIGOAL STILL IN ZED. ALSO NOT GOING TO SUNDOWNS.
I ask myself that question everytime he is called to the national team, there is no way that he is always the one who does such, awe mwe, its true God doesnt give everyone everything in his case forsight
He should have informed his club about trying his luck somewhere. It is as simple as that
im sorry to say with such attitude, no matter where he goes he is bound to fail nagu pa Kambuku warriors he will never be the same, such a shame
THERE IS NO MONEY. THE BOYS BUY POSH CARS. HAVE YOU SEEN FELI-GOAL’S PLUSH CHRYSLER? YOU CAN’T BELIEVE IT. THE BOY HAS NICE WHEELS. HE ALREADY HAS A HOUSE. THE RICHEST LANDLORD WILL BE GIVEN SINGULUMA WHOM KATUMBI ADDED FOUR HOUSES TO 1 WHICH HE DEMANDED. HE LATER SIGNED A CONTRACT WITH CLAUSES IN FRENCH. HE WON’T LEAVE TP MAZEMBE!
I said once before that FAZ really needs to take a hard look at how they control these players. Yes, I said CONTROL. If we are going to rise and be a power, we have to realize that some of our guys are not mature enough to handle success. FAZ needs to really step in and help these guys until they can be left alone. I know some will say that they are all adults, but if you have never had anything growing up, the little success you achieve can really mess you up. A more disciplined program has to be set up to avoid these stories.
I agree FAZ should step in but at the same time these players must as well learn to cooperate. These players should not behave like babies aba shi la sumuka. At 25 Mbesuma tala sumuka iyo awe mwe.
Mbesuma is finished and he has only himself to blame. Maybe he must try rugby because he is fat and big, he is in wrong sport.
@patty kasonde
No he is not. if he was in formal employment he would have been fired two years or so ago.
i think we have had too many De-javu’s with Mbesuma’s situation and its getting a bit old now…!!
can we please take the spotlight of him and discuss what is happening to one of our future prospects KALABA..!!
@Justice Kafusha
Ba Justice we are on the same page. These guys are not babies, but when I hear stories like Mbesuma’s and then on the other hand to hear the the Kenyan Mariga has just signed with Inter Milan, it makes me upset. Players like Felix should be playing in Europe, at serious clubs. We need to nurture these guys until they become world class or else tu ka shalila.
Why the hell are you stupid admins moderating my comments? Why the hell cant i post like other memebs?
the thing is mbesuma likes to eat kapenta and drink chibuku sheki sheki. i think he should think abt the future. forget about playing for zambia or doing anythting for our country. he shud think what we will he do in the future if not footbaall???/
Is it not mwana?
“Everyone has talent,what is rare is the courage to follow the talent to the dark place where it leads”
Whats mbesuma’s level of education? it is very important to have some education under your belt,just because you have talent does not mean you are supposed to stay out of class,it’s for this reason that at football academies around the world,they make sure the youngsters are educated,it also used to happen at AFRISPORTS a few years back,i dont know about now,they used to send their players to school,if they get a player who stopped school in grade 9,the’ll make sure that player goes back to school and starts from grade 9, the reason they do this is to help their player be “intelligent enough” to be able to make informed descisions in future,if somebody stopped school because of financial reasons,what not continue afterwards after you’ve made some money for yourself,Esther phiri is doing it!
Mbesuma is a perfect example,a lot of money and fame came his way because of his talent,but was he “mentally ready”to handle it?what kind of people did he have around him?today jacob mulenga is a far better player than mbesuma,the difference between the two is that where as mbesuma has the talent and the skill,but unlike jacob,he has no vision,mbesuma lives for the moment,during the afcon jacob mulenga said he wants to play for liverpool,am sure if you asked him what he wants to do after football he would come up with a very good answer,now what would mbesuma say if asked about his future??why cant some of these players take inspiration from their peers,great kalu is FAZ president and sits on CAF and FIFA commitees,emmanuel munaile is a member of parliament,danny kabwe is a manager at zanaco’s kitwe branch etc..its not everyone who will turn into good coaches..
Football is a very short career,i just hope somebody pumps some sense in mbesuma’s head before its too late..
I perfectly admit that Mbesuma was somehow wrong to report late but tournament of AFCON nature must stipulates the grace period of reporting! You can imagine after grilling time with compressed games honestly you expect the muscles to tire up!
Again somehow the report above seem misleading “Zobel revealed after Swallows’ goalless stalemate with Kaizer Chiefs on Tuesday that he is still AWOL”. NO Its not true statement because if you read from Kickoff it clearly says Mbesuma report to camp on monday! Let us be factual in our reporting and mind you the key thing is to build players not usual Zambian way of PHD! Somehow the coach was derogatory to indicate that maybe Mbesuma was celebrating Egyptian win! When did he ever become an Egyptian. You see coaches must be administrators who resolve inadequacies of each player in the boardroom than utter rambling that shows lack of respect for people who ease his job! I find it rubbish!!!
ZAMBIANFOOTBALL.NET
kabwe you are waiting your breath…collins will never change, hes a bred of footballers who fall off the cracks…mbesuma is finished, i can tell mbesuma struggles to even play for 90mins…can you see how Robinho almost kill his game?
But this not the first time,collins is behaving like this,he did it in uk,portugal,south africa,what support does collins needs…i think the boy is finished,hw old is he by the way
Luck of respect. The president and the entire country was waiting upon the team`s arrival and he opted to remain behind. Appaling considering how many second chances he has been given.
@Steven
Mudala, again dealing with our players was one of the things in my paper with suggestions on progressing the game
Ba Zamfoot,what’s the word on this article DaMwiinger is referring to? I am more than curious to take a peak at it? Any reason why it has not been published?
Zamfoot , why are you net publishing Damwingers’ article? We want to read it beacuse am very sure there are progressive ideas.
I think that Mbesuma is a great player and that things have not gone well for him. He is the only export we have ever had in the English Leauge and the first Zambian to score as many goals as he did in South Africa. He may have not had the right manager, right partner on the pitch and most certainly the right club for him……
Mr Mbesuma needs serious help other wise he will not be playing football in by end of 2010.
Are you serious, you have found room to support this behaviour!!!! you are the reasons that these chaps are doing this nonsense. No matter what rubbish these players do they find support in people like you so they end up thinking it is okay. Please call a spade a spade and get it to these bys straight. We cant be finding fault with the coach, how do you even start to think that!!
Age cheating is the major setback we have in Africa and Zambia included.
I personally know Mbesuma’s father Mr. Francis Kajiya, who has categorically hinted to me that the player is in his early thirties but to my bewilderment i read that he is 25. What a shame.
Take or leave Mbesuma is past the age of playing active football and can no longer tick. The burly striker should attempt others sports such as Rugby. He failed us in the English premiership and set a bad precedent for Zambian football.
I support Herve Renard’s stance of fielding young players whom you can even adjudge by their physical appearance.
yes mbesuma may wrong but i dont like the statement from the coach because he reported on monday ,and the coach stil is AWOL.mbesuma you change or else change will change you.may GOD help our brother colins
mbesuma was a bench keeper/warmer. he was told to keep the bench, but when zambia scored against Gabon he celebrated so much that wen he came back the bench was stolen, then he had to report the case to the nearest police station.milanzi came to support him in the hearing. thank God the bench was found which means mbesuma ll keep on warming the bench for the national team.he is a good keeper
am joking,guys enjoy the day.
@patty kasonde
I doubt if Mbesuma is normal,otherwise that England exit could have changed him,this boy needs to grow.
This boy should be very grateful to Harve Renah for giving more and more chances even when he proving to b useless.
Ba Zamfoot, can we put Mbesuma to our recycle bin as he’s not worth the news anymore! If people have followed my tread since my Tanzania days, no player is indispensable and the earlier we make players know this the better. HR has been vindicated as it is on this same blog that people cried murder when he put that boy in the straight and narrow though HR mistakenly succumbed to pressure to recall this spent force. Time to move forward bane If Mbesuma is ready to change, i offer free advice but for the SQUAD as we said those days, chapwa nomba!
