Chansa to make his second debut for Pirates

February 3rd, 2010

Isaac Chansa being unveiled as a buccaneer

Chipolopolo Boys midfielder Isaac Chansa is set to make his second debut for Orlando Pirates in a mouth watering clash with leaders Supersport United tonight.

The 25 year old who joined the buccaneers on Friday after a three year spell in Sweden with Helsingborg is likely to start on the bench and depending on things move on the pitch, coach RudI Krol might summon the ‘Zambian Gattuso’ to add steel to the Teko Modese led engine room.

Pirates will be looking to reduce United’s 10 points lead at the summit at league. In today’s other fixtures, Kennedy Mweene’s Free State Stars takes on Santos at 15:30 while Clifford Mulenga’s Mpumalanga Black Aces play Platinum Stars and with Felix Katongo likely to be on the bench for Mamelodi Sundowns clash against Bloem Celtic.

Elsewhere in South Africa, Joseph Musonda returned to club duty as he captained Golden Arrows but unfortunately Arrows lost 2-1 to Amazulu. Chipolopolo duo Kalililo Kakonje and Kampamba Chintu did not feature.

Striker Collins Mbesuma who has been rumoured to be on his way out of Moroka Swallows was not part of the team’s goalless stalemate with his former club Kaizer Chiefs.

Still in Africa, CAF/Orange Champions League holders T.P Mazembe will have four Zambian players on their books. Green Buffaloes’ controlling midfielder Sebastian Mwansa has joined his Chipolopolo teammates Stopilla Sunzu and Hichani Himonde at the Lubumbashi based outfit. Given Singuluma is the other Zambian on the cards of the ‘black and whites’ club.

Stopilla’s elder brother Felix Jr has signed for another Lubumbashi side FC Lumpopo.

I just get worried with our players moving from high tier leagues to lower ones. I don’t know whther we should cry for players ku National Team (in the name of experience) that depreciate by their own standards (From Europe to SA) just like someone who was the darling of this blog who moved from the Premier level of some European League to the 2nd tier. Even Kalaba’s move by all intents and purposes i don’t know whether it is good as i would expect some ascendency after his brilliant performance in Angola. This is one area i praise HR as he goes by the future and not past glory.

But again, maybe age is catchin up with Isaac and it may be a wise move after all. I wish Isaac good luck.

Zambian professional players lack good managers who can advise them adequately thats why they end up making from” riches to rags” decisions which is not good for our National team.

Isaac chansa cant be 25…thats whats killing our soccer..and chris katongo cant be less than 30. I disagree, these guys are old thats y they cant perform at their clubs. FAZ shud do sumthing about age cheating, its killing our soccer. Just an observation!

Is the football at TP Mazembe really that much better than whats at zESCO and Zanaco ? I dont think so. Its sad that one of our best performers at the recent AFCON has to end up in Congo. Stophira Sunzu should have been a bit more patient and waited for the summer transfer window. In the meantime, he would have been guaranteed game time at ZANACO. That boy is uefa material but it looks like he has chosen a lateral move

MODIBO IS THE NICKNAME FOR CHINTU. YES HE PALYED WELL. KALILILO DID NOT FEATURE. FRANCIES KOMBE CAME IN AS A SUB BUT DID NOT ADD ANY FIREPOWER THE COACH WANTED. MUZO PLAYED AS NUMBER 4 IN CONTRAST TO HIS USUAL POSITION ON THE BACK FLANKS. HE IS AN ALL ROUNDER PLAYER AT THE BACK. HE PUT UP AN ABOVE AVERAGE PLAY. TONITE WE WILL SEE GATUSSO IN ACTION. HE APPEARS TO BE THE CENTRE OF ATTRACTION AS HE LOOKED SAHRP IN TRAINING AND WAS EVEN INTERVIEWED IN SS CHANNEL.

Aparently other PSL teams were busy vying for his signature as soon as he anoumced he was thinking of returning to the PSL. Super sport were also considering him but could not afford his salary demands and as such he ended up at Pirates again. The coach has already praisd him sayig he looked sharp in training so lets see if he can light up the PSL stage as he did a couple of seasons ago.

I should also mention that Chintu had a very good game yesterday and so did Muso. Only kombe came short of the Zambian contingent. i was hoping to read about Cliffrd moving to a decent club by now but i guess maybe I was a bit too hopeful.

I tend do disagree that Chintu Kampamba didnt feature last night during game between Golden Arrows and Amazulu. Actually Chintu played 90 minutes, kindly check your facts before misleading the nation..Francis Kombe(jersey 30) played 45minutes

Hehe, funny enough I was telling my friend the same thing just before I saw you comment. There is no ways he is 25. Anyways, he is a good player and I hope there are a few more years left in him. 25, haha.

there are a lot of people like you who make out as though age cheating somehow affects the quality of play or something. Fine it might affect a players predicted longetivity but a question I always ask. the West Africans are the biggest culprits when it comes to age cheating to an extent that they have been banned from tournaments before but guess what, even after all the age cheating it is the west africans that have the biggest african players in Europe, they have won it all except for the world cup but then again have advanced the furthest in the world for african teams. If age cheating was such a terrible impact on our players why is it not such a terrible impact on them. Even with age cheating they are super stars. So is age cheating really an issue bane!! I dont think so.

It could be age catching up as he could be in his early thirties in terms of correct age.

The formula for calculating a Zambia footballer’s age is as follows:

    True age=Football age+Q

Where Q is any number ranging from 5 to 13

    Example:

If Isaac Chansa football age is 25, what could be his correct age?

    ANSWER

    Least possibele correct age
    True age =25+5
    = 30

    Maximium possible correct age
    True age=25+13
    =38

Therefore Isaac Chansa’s correct age is likely to be between 30 and 38.

Im sad to hear that Kalaba and Isaac have come back to Africa. As for kalaba,he should have thought about the way Junior Agogo was frustrated, even at the way Fred Jr got finnished and died in the hands of those idiots.I dont trust Arabs,I’ll never trust them, they still posses the same mentallity of looking at black Africans as Slaves. We should forget that Sudan is at war because Arabs are very greedy and want to dominate. They will finnish our Kalaba just like they have done to Fwayo,Felix Nsunzu Jr and many others.

  23. February 3rd, 2010 at 15:50 | #23

i don’t really like the idea of kalaba back in africa.I mean he played good football @ ACN.Better terms in europe would be running for his signture.I’m very disapointed with our players, others are running to congo whats happening to zambian players.Zamfoot ka update on our zanaco, who is in and out.Who are they planning to sign.I think Fwayo can raise again if zanaco get him from the beer his drinking now.As for Kalaba again work hard and go back to where you belong not zamlak

Assuming Mbola mantains his form & is not injured, God forbid, being a massively talented player that he is, at 16 we can say he will play for Zambia for not less than 15 years from now…surely age cheating is not a problem, is it??

Mbola’s true age could be between 21 and 29 years old.Despite that I agree with you that he still can play for the next 15 years as long as he is disciplined like Elija tana, Joseph Musonda, Chris Katongo and Chintu Kampamba. These guys have a secret on how a footballer can prolong his career.

Bra G :Chris Katongo cannot cheat his age. He grew up in my neighbourbood in Mufulira and i played with his two elder brothers in early to mid 1980’s (one of them is late) who were much better footballers than himself and Felix. It’s just unfortunate that those elder brothers of Chris and Felix could not break in top flight Zambian football due to competition at the time but at school level and on the streets they were unstoppable. @Mphatso

How old are chris’ elder brother(s)?
