In this column the Zamfoot Crew brings you the latest transfer & Gossip news. It’s simply Kachepa!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lusaka Celtic moves to Kafue
KCM/FAZ Division one south outfit Lusaka Celtic has been moved to Kafue and will be now called Kafue Celtic.
According to sources the move is aimed at creating a big fan base as it will be the only team in town playing in the second tier.
“The owners want Celtic to be one of the biggest clubs in Zambia in the next five years. They are looking at the model Afrisport fc used when they scouted for players like Lwipa, Kalaba, Jacob Mulenga, Stopilla Sunzu and Mbola,” the source said.
“They want the days of Kelvin ‘Malaza’ Mutale to be back at Kosa Stadium. Imagine in two years time clubs like Nkana, Zesco United, Zanaco coming to Kafue and play Celtic at Kosa?
Some of the big names to have emerged from Kafue are late Kelvin Mutale, Jonas Sakuwaha, Chisamba Lungu, Jackson Mwanza and Kondwani Mtonga (both Zesco United players).
Chansa set to sign for one of SA’s ‘Big four.’
International midfielder Isaac ‘Gattuso’ Chansa is set to sign for either the Soweto giants or the Pretoria based sides; Supersport United or Mamelodi Sundowns.
The 25 year old who starred at Orlando Pirates during his initial spell in PSL has also hinted that he could be his way to arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs. Chansa did not renew his contract at Swedish side Helsingborg after it expired on December 31st 2009.
He played as a second half substitute against Cameroon in Angola.
Mazembe want a Zambian central defence partnership to continental title
Orange/CAF Champions League holders T.P Mazembe are rumoured to have entered the race to sign emerging Chipolopolo Boys centre-back Stopilla Sunzu who is being tracked by Germany and Austrian sides.
Sunzu’s defensive partner in the quarter final clash against Nigeria, Hichani Himonde has already agreed terms with the Lubumbashi. Himonde is also wanted by Emmanuel Mbola’s Pyunik Yeravan.
And in another related news, Sunzu’s elder brother Felix Sunzu Jr was spotted in Lubumbashi a fortnight ago were he is believed to have held talks with both T.P Mazembe and Lupompo.
Given Singuluma is set to travel to DR Congo to discuss his future with Mazembe missing the World Club Championship in Dubai.
Dutch giants tracking Jacob Mulenga
Chipolopolo Boys talisman Jacob Mulenga is on the wish list of Dutch giants, Ajax and PSV according to reports from Holland.
Mulenga’s exploits in Angola were he scored two goals and assist has alerted after initially just monitoring his progress at FC Utrecht. Mulenga scored in the 2-0 win over Ajax in league in November 2009.
Chamanga could be on the move
Jacob Mulenga’s twin-tower strike force partner James Chamanga is also on the verge of leaving China based side Dalian Shide were his contract is believed to have expired.
Dalian Shide have offered the 30 year old a contract extension but his agent is still studying it.
Lusaka Dynamos set to sign Cameroonian goalkeeper
Premier League outfit Lusaka Dynamos is set to sign two Cameroonians players; a goalkeeper and a defender. Both players have had stints in South Africa.
Zanaco refuse to release Lwipa to sign
Champions Zanaco refused to grant striker Ignitius Lwipa permission to conclude a deal with an Israeli second tier side despite Wedson Nyirenda giving the player blessings to go and try his luck abroad.
“Zanaco cited the Champions League as the reason not to allow him but one could think that they could have emulated Zesco United who allowed Jonas Sakuwaha to sign in France. This is what is killing our game in Zambia, “a highly placed source.
“The coach who wanted Figo (as Lwipa is called) is the one who signed Moses Sichone when he was in Cyprus. Lwipa was just required to pass medicals and no trials.
Buffaloes appoint Chiyangi as head coach
Former Power Dynamos and Zambia left back Aggrey Chiyangi is now in-charge of Green Buffaloes. Chiyangi has been head coach of Chambishi which was demoted last season.
Buffaloes were scouting for a coach after they parted company with Alfred Lupiya who took over from George Lwandamina in the middle of the last season. Lwandamina has since moved to Kabwe Warriors

Big Steve from SA on Fri, 29th Jan 2010 12:46 PM
Eish I cant believe Gatusso, and from the tone of the article it sounds as though the player himself is even exited about moving backwards. Lets hope Sunzu is also not lured to Lubumbashi but does go overseas. As for Felix Sunzu I hope its not the club looking at replacing Given with him.
DaMwiinger on Fri, 29th Jan 2010 12:53 PM
I am beggining to fear for Given-things are sounding rather omnious. let’s hope it won’t be another case of just ending at potential talent and nothing further.

Interesting colours for Kafue Celtics
ROK on Fri, 29th Jan 2010 12:57 PM
Zamfoot, it is not correct to say Kafue Celtic Formerly Lusaka Celtic FC will be the only team playing second tier football in Kafue. There is currently Young Green Eagle under Zambia National Service who got one of my players from my Division II team based in Kafue. I thought i should clarify this. Otherwise i want to salute Lee the propriator of Kafue Celtic FC for managing to sponsor two football clubs (he is already sponsoring Search FC which was in Division III last season) under today’s harsh economic conditions.

Your given instead of going for the big stage of world club championship went AWOL, what did you expect the Mazambe muzungu coach to do?
Boyfriend on Fri, 29th Jan 2010 1:15 PM
I Salute bwezi H.E for recieving the lads its encouraging for the boys to keep it up. for sure tsunami is right the coach should maintain the team except the likes of himself should slowly see themselves out say in one years time.
DaMwiinger on Fri, 29th Jan 2010 1:25 PM
I know. I wonder what his story is
Jojo on Fri, 29th Jan 2010 1:33 PM
He should,nt have gone to TP mazembe in the first place,it would have been even better for him to join a lower division club in europe after his exploits at the chan,if am not mistaken given and william njobvu were together at the chan, while william decided to go to a lower league team in israel, given went to DRC,now today if you compared the progress made by these 2,you will realise that william is far ahead of given,it’s for this reason that the likes of HH and the sunzu brother’s will be making huge mistakes if they move that side…

Pliz do start watching local matches. You mite realise that you are missing out on somefing. I can assure you our league is not bad afterall.
Alexander Liwana on Fri, 29th Jan 2010 2:09 PM
It is indeed backward for Chansa to come in South Africa again.I know that he misses Khilimanjaro pub in Berea very much where he used to drink liquor like no man’s business and that is why he wants to come back to South Africa.Coming back to South Africa will mark his demise in his soccer career.I like Chansa very much and I think he has great potential.

jojo, our players are not ready for the big stage footy in Euro, I for GIven coming from a lower league tier in RSA straight to euro would have seen the chap failing miserably. Let im get expoure in the African continental, where if he shines then he can move on to bigger clubs in europe.
Very few players can succeed in europe.

What about Nyirenda bane, any kachepa.
Sunzu should not venture to DRC.
Chansa those are signs of “fading ” no wonder HR has not really been keen on this player. With the likes of Kalaba, William and Nyirenda putting convincing dispalys, Chansa may well be out of chipolopolo if he does not raise his game.

I hope renard has truly resignd, . the arogant punk cost us the cup. with a better coach we could have gone furthur. it was only the boys personal efforts that took us far. he had no technical aproach, always fielding the same 11, and then giving up wen the team made the last 8 because the aspirations for his credentials were complete.

Good for Celtics moving to Kafue, its a small community but has always produced some good players like late Malaza Kelvin Mutale, Moses Masuwa coming fro Young Buffaloes then moved on Warriors, late Peter Chilanda of sensational ZANACO, goalie Martin Mwamba before moving on Power Dynamos etc etc…infact Chipolopolo anthem was common there before KK11 became Chipolopolo
Muta on Sat, 30th Jan 2010 2:30 AM
Please let that be true, I hate this self hyped coach. 1 win, 1 draw and looses @ AFCON and he still thinks he is better than slice bread.
Jimmy on Sat, 30th Jan 2010 7:31 AM
When Jacob Mulenga said he would love to play for a big team like Liverpool, we all sang praise. Renard says the same thing that he aspires to coach a big team one day and we cry foul. The reason why we reached the 1/4s, I feel, is beacause HR managed to put all Zambians soccer players included in the right position. Until he came we were playing current football based on the past. Untill we start to accept the truth as a people we will never grow.
Same principle applied in the Chelsea and England teams were they used to think they were big until an HR like manager came in. Success followed.
So, if HR has resigned as rumoured. I stand tall and say it`s a sorry thing for mother Zambia and like many other times, it`s back to chapter one as the finish line eludes us.
Anonymous on Sat, 30th Jan 2010 1:00 PM
HR hasnt resigned. He will be in Zambia on monday. It always beats me that some people flourish on rumour and make comments that a man with substance will later regret and apologize for. Credible people like BBC, Soccernet, Skysports, Supersport etc dont have the story and am personally never going to believe this attention seeker called Rumour Mill

HR is gone????
MTNFootball.com can again exclusively report that top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have met with Zambia coach, Herve Renard, with a view to the Frenchman leading the Super Eagles to the World Cup in June. A top source informed MTNFootball.com Saturday afternoon: “NFF officials led by president Sani Lulu and Taiwo Ogunjobi met with Renard in Luanda to discuss the possibility of his joining Nigeria for the World Cup. “Also at this meeting was FIFA top official, Walter Gagg. It was a fruitful meeting. Hopefully something should come out of this. “Renard is excited to work with Nigeria, but asked the NFF officials to speed up their interest as he has also been courted by several other African teams.”
The young French coach became a darling of several Nigeria officials here in Angola after his youthful and inexperienced Chipolopolo outclassed the Super Eagles in a Nations Cup quarterfinal even though they would go on to lose 5-4 on penalties to Nigeria after scores were tied at 0-0 after extra-time. “He has really won the approval of top officials here in Angola,” another source disclosed.
Last week, Renard had told MTNFootball.com in an exclusive interview he would “trek from Angola to Nigeria” if that would get him the top Nigeria coaching job. Renard, was assistant to compatriot Claude Le Roy with Ghana two years ago. He moved to Zambia in May, 2008, on a two-year contract, which pays him a monthly salary of between $15,000 and $18,000. An impressed Zambia President, Rupiah Banda, promised at a reception for the country’s team on arrival from Angola that he will do everything to keep Renard.

i read the article on mtn and if hr wants to go,let him go,,not so long ago many Zambians on this blog were not interested in this coach and i wonder were the interest is coming from, even me as an individual,if offered a better deal why should i stay with the same company. the relationship between hr,supporters and some faz officials are not at its best and even if he stayed he wont enjoy his stay here in Zambia.
but what makes good team.the players themselves.we have a team right now and all we need a parent, now who will be the next parent for Zambia if hr leaves.

It seems he is on his out,i would have loved him to stay but when a team like nigeria comes at your doorstep, there’s nothing you can do but let the man go,HR is a very interesting character and he gave us a lot of things to debate about..
On the issue of his successor, kalu and his team went out and got a nobody who turned out to be ‘ok’,so if HR does leave i think we should trust kalu and his team with their next choice of coach..

Nigeria should not make the mistake of taking Renard. This guy is still in experienced and tactically is still deficient. If tactically he was sound, i tell you Zambia would have beaten Cameroun and Nigeria clean. Now what about the big stage. Let Renard continue to grow with Zambia till 2012/13. If Nigeria are really sure that they dont need Shaidou Amadou, they surely should be wise on the choice of the replacement. Please not Renard, World Cup is too big a competition and we need africa to do well.

Zambia: Renard Will Stay
Zambia coach Herve RenardFebruary 1, 2010
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) have said they are confident Chipolopolo coach Herve Renard will see out his contract with Zambia, which runs out in May, while also saying that the Frenchman has a right to aspire to coach a high profile team.
FAZ spokesman Erick Mwanza said the association are confident Renard, who guided the team to reach the last eight at Angola 2010, will stay on as coach despite interest from several other African teams.
“There is every indication that he will stay as his commitment is to Zambia,” Mwanza said.
The FAZ spokesman also said they were not disturbed that Renard has ambition to work with a top African team.
“Let me clarify, there is no person without ambition it is only the dead. There is nothing wrong with Renard saying one day he has ambitions of taking a job for a big team,” he said.
Mwanza said that Renard had not hidden his inclinations towards French-speaking countries citing Cameroon and Morocco as possible destinatio
