South Korean coach believes the Zambia team now in Angola have capacity to go all the way.

South Korea Coach Hujunj-Moo has charged that Zambia has the capacity to reach the final of Africa Cup of Nations underway in Angola.

In spite of Zambia setting a target of reaching the last eight in the competition, the South Korea mentor was positive for Zambia’s chances after seeing his charges who have qualified for the World Cup finals trumpled upon 4-2 on Saturday.

”Zambia has the capacity of reaching the finals. It is a good team with strong and skilfull players.”

Football Association of Zambia president Kalusha Bwalya was widely reported that he had named 8 out of the 16 teams at this AFCON who he believed could lift the trophy but Zambia was not among those eight.

The Zambia squad arrived safely in Angola with coach Herve Renard declaring his charges ready for the AFCON skirmishes after a good showing in the preparatory matches in South Africa.

Zambia beat Mozambique 1-0 courtesy of a Collins Mbesuma strike, drew 0-0 with Nigeria before hammering South Korea 4-2 on Saturday with goals from Felix Katongo, Rainford Kalaba, James Chamanga and a Noah Chivuta spot kick.

Renard draws confidence in the victory over the Koreans and believes the Chipolopolo boys have the capacity to mix it up with the so called big gus of African football.

”The four goals are a sign that we are ready for the Africa Cup. Our team should not be written off and other teams should underrate us at their own peril.”

The Frenchman is quoted in the local media as saying.

Elsewhere in Angola, Barcelona Star Seydou Keita came off the bench to inspire Mali to one of the biggest comebacks in African football history by coming back from four goals down to draw 4-4 with hosts Angola in the Orange Africa Cup of Nations opener on Sunday.

The hosts were four goals up thanks to a first half brace from Saudi Arabia-based striker Flavio Amado and second half efforts from Gilberto and Manucho, before the Maliansa produced some great piece of football artistry in the last 12 minutes to draw equal.

Today Malawi takes on Algeria at 15:45 hours while favourites Ivory Coast face Burkina Faso in Cabinga. Ghana’s scheduled clash with Togo has been cancelled as the latter flew out of Cabinga yesterday.
