Feli-Goal to shake off injury

January 10, 2010

Feli-Goal will be looking at replicating his 2008 AFCON in Angola

Midfielder Felix Katongo will shake off an injury he suffered in the Saturday’s 4-2 win over South Korea and be in contention to face Tunisia in the Chipolopolo’s opening fixture at the African Cup of Nations in Angola.

“He got a slight knock but he is ok,” said one of the players in an interview with the Zambianfootball.net at Johannesburg’s Oliver Tambo international before the team left for Angola this morning.

Katongo was replaced by Noah Chivuta minutes before halftime, in a precautionary move.

The nimble footed midfielder scored Zambia’s first goal in the demolition of the Koreans. Another Midfield maestro Rainford Kalaba was also on target before man of moment James Chamanga grabbed Zambia’s third goal in the 58th minute. Chivuta rounded up the scoreline with a well taken spot kick after substitute Emmanuel Mayuka was brought down in the box.

Meanwhile Zambia left South Africa this morning for Angola. The Chipolopolo Boys play Tunisia on Wednesday night.

Am glad am not Angolan pantu i dont know what i would have done and been if Zambia pull the kind of stint that the angolans have pulled.I never thought i would see big men behaving like stupid little boys by thinking the day was over, angola is an embarassment of the highest degree and i would like to salute Mali for a good and spirited come back.I think the hosts will not go beyond the group stages-they are zombies

Angola madalas football defending. How do you give away a four goal lead in te last 11 minutes of a game??

But ba Angola bali pena. How do you concede 4 goals in 11 minutes right in front of their back yard. This is one of greatest comebacks in African football. If this was a final it would have been the greatest comeback in world football. Well done Mali but you shouldn’t have conceded those 4 goals in the first place.

Good job ba ZAMFOOT for taking the spyware off the most popular Zambian online sports and soccer web portal. I have been making less comments in the last few months due to the computer viral that had infested this site.

On Zambia: We wish them well. People who are nt showing confidence in the team are the ones who will be swallowing their words each time they see Zambia grabs a win in Lubanga and beyond. Let be confidence and hope that the preparatins in Jo’berg has given HR and his henchymen the best mondus operanda to dislodge Tunisia , Cameroon and Gabon. Then we will take them punch for punch. We good incentives and good game plan at hand I see light at the end of the tunnel in Angola!!Go Zambia and Get well soon Feli-Goal!!

The Angola Vs Mali reminds of the game between Burkina Faso and DR Congo ( Semi final) in 1998. DR Congo was equally 4- 0 down with 15 mins to go and by the end of the game Congo was 5 – 4 up. But what a shame to Angola to give away that game.
