Emmanuel Mayuka’s rich vein of form has continued after he struck a winning goal in Maccabi Tev Aviv’s thrilling 4-3 win over Beiter Jerusalem in a league game played on Saturday night.
Described as the best Premier League game so far in the season by the Israel media, the match had everything; tempo, passion and the goals. With scores at 2-2, Maccabi increased their lead to 3-2 and the Zambian ace added the fourth goal to make it 4-2.
Mayuka picked up the ball from 30 meters and started charging towards the goal and beat one defender but got lucky when his pass rebounded off a defender to a hand him a one on one situation with the goalkeeper and the 19 year old put the ball into the back of the net to score his 9th of the campaign and fifth goal in the month of December.

Zambia’s proposed international friendly against Malawi hangs in doubt with reports from Blantyre indicating that ‘The Flames’ will host Emmanuel Adebayor’s Togo at Kamuzu Stadium on 2nd January, 2010, a day before the Chipolopolo was scheduled to play Malawi in South Africa as announced by the Football Association of Zambia a fortnight ago.
But According to Malawi’s online newspaper Nyasa Times, Football Association of Malawi (FAM) president Walter Nyamilandu broke this news when he announced the revised programm of African Cup of Nations preparations which include friendly games. Some of the teams that FAM has dated are Egypt (29th Decemeber, 2009 in Cairo) and Ghana (9th January, 2010).
It is reported that FAM and Togo FA have signed a contract of which one of the clauses is that Togo will bring full squad.
Nyamilandu said: “They will be here on December 31 and play us on January 2 before flying out to South Africa. This is a big moment for Malawian football as we bring to our fans another top player in Adebayor.”
“The Flames need home game before Afcon to wave goodbye to the fans. Doing it against a top team such as Togo is something beautiful,” he continued.

NATIONAL team players will each earn US$36,000 (about K160 million) if they win all the six games at next month’s Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.
An impeccable source at the Ministry of Sport, Youth and Child Development disclosed in Lusaka yesterday that FAZ has already submitted the budget, which shows that each player will be given a total of US$36,000 in bonuses if they win all the games at the Africa Cup in Angola.
He said players will each receive US$4,000 (about K20 million) for every win in the group stages while a win in the quarter-finals will attract US$6,000 per player.
The source said each player will be paid US$8,000 if they win their semi-final match while the bonus for winning the final match will be US$10,000 per play.
