Rookie defender Thomas Nyirenda has already won 8 caps.
Chipolopolo Boys coach Herve Renard has hailed the impact and progress made by the duo Thomas Nyirenda and Kennedy Chola of Zanaco and City of Lusaka respectively and the Cecafa Senior Challenge were Zambia was booted out of the competition by minnows Zanzibar.
Chola, a left footed who normally operates on the right flank caught the eye after impressing against Djibouti in a game in banged in a hat-trick and also in the loss to Zanzibar. Nyirenda showed versatility at the tournament when he was used as a makeshift defensive midfielder after regular Stoppilla Sunzu got injured.
Speaking on arrival at Lusaka International airport, the Frenchman singled the duo and that could just be hint into the inclusion of the main squad set to start preps for Angola 2010 African Cup of Nations on December 20th.
Renard is set to name his provision squad next week and Chola and Nyirenda who have 12 international caps are being tipped to be included in the final 23.
Meanwhile FAZ Communications Officer Erick Mwanza told a media briefing on Wednesday at Football House that Zambia might play an International friendly with European Champions Spain.
Mwanza said FAZ is also trying to secure friendlies with other high profile teams especially that who have qualified to World Cup in South Africa.
Zambia is set to camp in Spain ahead of the Angola finals

I also thought Chola seemed to be the heartbeat in that team which lost to Zanzibar, he seems to have a certain shade of confidence in his play was very comfortable doing his thing.
Am not too sure about Thomas Nyirenda, but he held his own in an unfamiliar role.
Am sure Spain wont be too interested after the London debacle.

Justice teams like Angola (hosts),Mozambique who i watched twice during the qualifiers can give us good training games. Mozambique probally together with Gabon for me are two of Africa’s best improved teams for 2008/2009. Spain can only play us on a Fifa calender date and i don’t see any date in December. We will just end playing some division 2 clubs chapwa.

I go for a friendly with an African team, not a tourism trip to any European nation. We are not playing Africa cup on European soil,we are playing it on African soil.Pliz FAZ hear us before we stage a ‘coup de tat’ overthrowing you.ABASH TOURISM IN EUROPE DURING THE FESTIVE SEASON,TAKE THE BOYS TO PROTEA HOTEL LUSAKA OR PAMODZI OR HOLIDAY INN (S/SUN NOW) & LET THEM TRAIN FROM OUR BARCLAYS SPORTS COMPLEX,NKOLOMA STADIUM OR INDEPENDENCE STADIUM. CLEAR? YES!!! No Spain,No Spain,No Spain,No Europe pliz.

The revealation of Mbola, Nyirenda and Chola just shows that more great talent can be discovered if the net is caste wide.
For those who do not watch the Zambian league, Chola has been th main man for City this just ended season. He is the man that scored the most goals for the team.

FAZ should just camp the Team in Namibia,it will be a waste of resources to go en Camp in Europe when the Tournament will be held in Africa. If its facilities FAZ wants then, there will be a bigger difference with what they will get acustomed to in Spain to what they will get in Lobango during the Tournament. There is absolutely no wisdom is sending the Team to Spain.

I think we have become so accustomed to average that we are now calling players slightly above average as being good. Sorry to say but we praise guys who would not make the grade even in just the PSL. i dont want to mmention names but gent really!!

@Daaram
Mwana you should be open to read views of different pipo its not being negative but realistic what good is the team going to gain in Spain? People are tired of being duped by this FAZ which has failed to deliver, last time the team camped in France or somewhere there, did it help in any way, no? Its not a matter of criticizing FAZ but looking at things with an open mind and trying to help, chapwa

Clever is right. when i saw Chola, i wondered why the boy has been missing in the national team. Chola is good at taking free kicks, why not develop him into another magic Kalu? he has the boby, why not develop him into another Babble malitoli?. Players are there all what is needed is cast the net wide.
by the why play Chola on the right when he is left footed? bring the boy on number 9 so that he can use both legs to the disadvantage of opponent deffenders.
we a player in Chola.
