Russian giants CSKA Moscow has expressed interest in international left back Emmanuel Mbola and the 2005 UEFA Cup winners were eager to have a look at the highly rated teenager this week but unfortunately Chipolopolo Boys coach Herve Renard had ‘refused permission to release’ the player. Mbola who plies his trade in Armenia where he helped his club FC Pyunik Yerevan to a league title early this month has been in the country since Zambia’s goalless draw with Rwanda. According to sources close to Zambianfootball.net, Mbola’s pending trials were agreed in October between Pyunik and CSKA. Full story

2008 Zambia player of the year Kennedy Mudenda has been dropped  from the Chipolopolo squad departing for the CECAFA tournament in Kenya today. This marks the second time in less than two months that Herve Renard has left out the dribbling Power Dynamos ace after leaving him out of the COSAFA squad last month at the last minute. And defender Hichani Himoonde who captained the Chipolopolo to COSAFA silver after losing 3-1 in the final to Zimbabwe has also been left out. He has not retrurned from Zimbabwe where he is negotiating a deal with T.P Mazembe. Full story

Zambia coach Herve Renard has had a change of heart over leaving China based James Chamanga out of the Chipolopolo squad that is due to fly out to Kenya tomorrow for the CECAFA tournament that opens this Saturday. Earlier, Renard had told reporters that he was leaving the player who hit a stunning hat trick against North Korea on Saturday because his club Dalian Haichang needed  him back for training on December 2. The Frenchman had said it would have been pointless to carry Chamanga would have only played the opening game on Saturday and that his place needed to have been taken by someone who would be there for the entire duration of the tournament. But Zambianfootball.net now understands Renard will name Chamanga in his CECAFA squad and will only release him from Kenya  if his club asks for his services. Full story
