Chamanga will be flying with the team.

Zambia coach Herve Renard has had a change of heart over leaving China based James Chamanga out of the Chipolopolo squad that is due to fly out to Kenya tomorrow for the CECAFA tournament that opens this Saturday.

Earlier, Renard had told reporters that he was leaving the player who hit a stunning hat trick against North Korea on Saturday because his club Dalian Haichang needed  him back for training on December 2.

The Frenchman had said it would have been pointless to carry Chamanga would have only played the opening game on Saturday and that his place needed to have been taken by someone who would be there for the entire duration of the tournament.

But Zambianfootball.net now understands Renard will name Chamanga in his CECAFA squad and will only release him from Kenya  if his club asks for his services.

And Renard will leave the decision to rule Hichani Himoonde out of the trip late.

The Lusaka Dynamos defender who has been on loan at champions Zesco United is with T.P Mazembe who have set up camp in Zimbabwe preparing for the FIFA World Club Championship in Zimbabwe.

Himoonde is negotiating a deal with the Club African Champions.

Zamfoot, reports indicate that Chamanga’s team does not start pre-season training untill late December hence his availability for the Tournament. So headlining this story as a U-turn by Renard is a tad unfair for the coach and will encourage the Renard bashers to unload n tha man for the upteenth time. This should really be a non story…….

I concur with that statement. I don’t think it was Renards choice to not call Chamanga, but it was question really of availability. Atti shani ku Jersey mudala? Hit me up on my email Stillchile(at)hotmail.com next time I’m up there… I’m buying

It’s good to hear HH will broaden his horizons at TP Mazembe. Hopefully he can still make Cecefa. I hope we will be stronger than Cosafa as i think the quality fielded up north will be higher. Even without the pair, it looks promising if we work hard.

Good thing this coach realises that winning is what we want. If we went and played Kenya with no notable goal scorer of note we would have had a mountain to climb to beat them. Good thing he is including one or two pro’s in these smaller tournaments now he will build good coersion and not just see the pro’s four or five days before crucial matches.

Going back to the issue of consistency, Mbesuma scored a brace a couple of days ago and the then very next match doesn’t even make the starting 11. This is why I was not holding my breath when he scored the brace but I stil feel he is worth a call up to the final 23 that will represent in Angola.

As long as we use amapulanga Enock Sakala and Sunzu Jr (a bit better than Enock) we should forget about winning. Use agile, flexible, multi-dimensional Chamanga and those one dimensional planks for heavens especially that Mashikwe from Zim will be in town. HR shouldn’t have yielded to fans’ plank mentality to call Enock. Next season he wont even be making the bench at ZEGA. Ba Spaks even Rodgers Kola was better than Enock.
