And according to the Zamfoot Crew sources in Tev Aviv, Maccabi is also believed to have put a price tag of about 1.5m Euros for the 18 year old to thwart the interest of Portuguese side Belensenses who are believed to have tabled an offer.
“Maccabi has refused to sell Mayuka to the Portuguese club now. Even though they agree in the January transfer window I don’t the other club will meet Maccabi’s valuation of around 1.5m Euroes,” an Israeli based journalist revealed to the Zamfoot Crew in an interview.
While Maccabi is not ready to sanction a deal for the youngster they signed 13 months, a new twist has developed with news that the Israeli glamour side has not paid the $50, 000 transfer fee to Warriors for the Chipolopolo striker.
According to another reliable source in Kabwe, Warriors have tried to contact Maccabi in the last few months but to no avail and the Zambian Premier League side is believed to have written to Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) to assist them get the transfer fee.
“We are a bit disappointed with the way things have turned out. To date the Israeli club hasn’t paid us the transfer fee. When the boy was joining them, all thoughts of things were promised like taking him to school but unfortunately nothing has been fulfilled by Maccabi,” the source said.
“We have sent a letter to FAZ seeking their intervention. (Nir) Karin (the FIFA agent who brokered the controversial deal) has been telling us that the delay is as result of the new president at the club but we think its just games,” the source added.
“In fact we would rather have the boy back to Zambia. There’s a good offer from France for him.
When contacted from his base Karin said he is not ready to discuss the terms and conditions of the deal of respect of all the parties involved.
“Maccabi Tel Aviv is a great club and they did all their commitments by contracts, including transfer fee and player.
“I will not get into Mayuka’s contract since that’s not the business of Kabwe. All I can say is that he is very happy here,” Karin said.
Last year Maccabi Warriors signed Mayuka from Kabwe Warriors under the noses of FC Porto despite the Portuguese side offering a 150m Euros compared to $50, 000 the former promised to pay.
On the pitch, Mayuka has been used sparingly as an impact player during this season. Last season he won his first title after helping to the Toto Cup triumph

Karin nayena….. Why should the Israeliz leave poor Kabwe Warriors in the dust over the transfer fee? They are even pegging a much higher price on Mayuka yet they are not closing their end of the deal.
If its in the interest of the player to go to Portugal, they should allow him to go and develop there.

I thought the Mayuka issue was closed by FIFA ,so why are warriors making noise over the transfer fee when mayuka was sold as a minor.

Lets sort out this Mayuka case once and for all. I hope his team doesnt stand in his way, this boy must be allowed to go to Portugal. With the dry spell of goals we having, any news of our strikers going to play in more competitive leagues is welcome. These Israelis know the value of Mayuka. Maybe this should be our lesson. 18 Months ago, these same fellows offered a song of $50,000 for the boy and now they put a price tag of $1.5m.
