by Ba Zambia
Well yet again the gallant sons of Mother Zambia go to do battle for our lovely country. Others are saying coach Herve Renard and the National Team plus FAZ are going to try and prove their abilities that I must say have been below par.
Well for me I want to say the boys have a little to prove, so does Renard or FAZ, We the supporters have a lot to prove in this game. We have failed the nation more than the players have. In fact our attitudes when we are at the stadia is not inspiring whatsoever. Every time we are down we go quiet when a player holds the ball we insult (unfortunately most of us are culprits). I wonder what have become of us fans.
Soccer Associations
We have unfortunately three (3) Soccer fans Mother bodies which are rather useless, irritating and good for nothing. Ideally I would have thought that these Mother bodies would have signed a memorandum of understanding with FAZ to allow them get into the Stadia for a relatively low price to boost the support or better still hire the likes of Chiko Chali and Mozegator (Musicians) to do live performances in the terraces.
ANTS, CSFA and ZAVOSOFA are weak organizations am afraid. I wonder why we should be having so many soccer fans associations when we can have one better performing body which will be held accountable to the members. In fact, if we had a proper and organized fan mother body, it can raise money .
I am calling for the leaders of these 3 soccer fans association to step down and pave way for a new harmonized body NOT these good for nothing opportunists who are acting like politicians.
Football Association of Zambia, FAZ
Like I said before, FAZ could have actually taken an initiative under Eric Mwanza’s office or George Kasengele’s office to make an office of supporter interest and mobilization which can help to organize the support at the stadia. But alas FAZ seems to be interested in just selling tickets and forgetting the twelfth player- the people who cheer the team.
Ba Zambia thinks if only we had fans like the Wusakile faithful…fans could have been the twelfth player like the viva 1, 2 , 3 Algerie fans
CLUBS
I think apart from the hooliganisms of the Nkana FC suppoters, I rate them to be the best in Zambian Football.
I do not know what type of people we have in these clubs as executive members. Because as far as I am concerned these guys have failed their clubs. Executives who can not use their initiative to raise funds for the club but always depending on the grants from their sponsors. (Anyway if the Head of State depends on the Donors, what about us). This thing of having a person to be an Executive member just because he played for the club is killing us big time. The Sponsors should make sure that before the election of these club officials they should present not only plans but a feasible idea of how they will raise their own funds. It’s too much. There are a lot to desired from these Jokers of administrators.
We as fans can force a change in the way things are done in the world of soccer, we just need to have a united voice and then that will be all.
Irritated BA ZAMBIA

True story ba Zambia. Most fans are too drunk with the sachets by the time the game starts it is dificulty to even have one codinated song to support our lads. The team needs our support most when they are down, let give them all the support.

We have all seen the way organised supporters for Nigeria are,can we realy compre them to the Pastor Makembo supporters.These guys are a joke.

i agree with you ba zambia. if we are able to organise supporters for clubs in europe why not for mother zambia? i would suggest that three be disbanded today and lets all form one group which should be under faz. this is very disappointing to say the least. we do not need a pastor, he is just there to make noise on tv. lets try other means of support or lets use the police or army bands. mr RB help us as the commander in chief by ordering the police and army bands to support our team.

Thats true, Pastor Makembo is just good at threatening to have the coach sacked when Zambia loses but doesnt mobilise his supporters to go and cheer the team, especially outside the country. I miss the days of the late Willie Malasha and Elijah Chisanga

I went to Canada with a couple of friends to watch the Zambia Under 20 Team during the Youth World Cup. We found a sizeable crowd of Zambians that were basically being drowned out by the screaming of the Uruguayan fans when they played Zambia. We simply borrowed a drum from one of our Nigerian brothers and started siging “Pali ba Zambia, nshi lala utulo”. Needless to say by the time the game ended, the Zambian chorus drowned out the whole Stadium and the players actually walked over to thank us for the support. Long story short…real fans need to stand up and be counted, the phony associations you mentioned should not even be allowed into the Stadium cause they have no concept of what it means to be team supporters.

@Be Real
I cannot agree more!!! A fan association that does nothing, but complain and ask for lower ticket prices. Whats the point? These associations are part of the problem. Maybe its time a younger more mature group took over, yes mature in actions not in age. These fans who are after nothing more than preferential treatment are a sham. They have to earn their kudos, they can start by losing their voices during the zambia egypt game

Ok kanshi ine I stand mistaken. Watching these games from afar i.e. tv you sometimes wonder if the fans are there, pantu it gets silent, especially when we are down. If what most of you guys are saying about the fans keeping up the tempo is true, then saturday should not be a problem. Also kanshi if these guys are doing their part then we need to thank them.
Imwe ba Zamfoot, how come there is no feedback from the get together? I hope kwali wama.

In my opinion, the grandstand and VIP usually hav a crowd. Then a handfull in other stands. I feel it is so becoz of the economic differences.You hav a gud number of those who can afford and want to be in the grandstand. Then the majority of those who want to watch do not have the money to go in. Coz even saturday game aint it 200 VIP, 150 GS, 50 OW. I think its better you have a crowd at a lower amount than return a bunch of tickets with a 50 value.

i agree with ba zambia,we have a habbit of going quite and demoralising players once they make a mistake.it happened to harry milanzi at indi podo,the entire stadium was against him and it really brot his morale down.support shud start before the team enters the pitch till the last minute.am leaving for copperbelt mailo to support my boys.go zambia go zambia

It is high time FAZ made a formal arrangement with clubs to have a permanent supporters club,they will not necessarily need to travel wherever their team goes but at least their presence be felt at home games. Then from there a combined supporters club for the national team can be established.The nigerians have done it to the extent that they managed to secure some serious sponsoship.They do not need to move around with a begging bowl.We can also do it provided we are united and proactive as soccer fans together with FAZ.

@N’gwa N’gwazi
i think you are missing the point. anyway they say aim at nothing and you will surely hit it. your argument is a bit far fetched. we indeed made noise at INdependence Stadium before. please go further than 1997 in history and you will see that the desgn of the Stadia does not matter.
