Jacob Banda (Zesco United)- – Nicknamed Spider boy, the Zesco United shot stopper is back as the local first choice goalkeeper after being Davy Kaumbwa’s understudy at the Chan tournament in Ivory Coast earlier in the year. He wasn’ttested in the match except when he had to come fast to cover for Dennis Banda’s ‘teasing’ back pass.

Zambia national soccer team beat Mozambique by two goals to nil to reach the Cosafa Senior Challenge finals for a record fifth time. Herve Renard’s coached side will now meet Zimbabwe on Sunday in a dream final at Harare’s Rufaro Stadium.

With the prize money staked at ZAR300, 000, the local guns started the match on a high note and got a deservedly goal in the sixth minute after Enoch Sakala’s shot was diverted by Hichani Himonde’s minimal touch in a goal mouth scramble as the Chipolopolo Boys took the lead. Read more…
