Thanks Ba Zamfoot for this update on our players. 2 things really strike me. First and foremost, out of all the Zambian players reported on, only 1 player managed to score. That really summarises our scoring prowess and why we even face the possibilty of not going to the Afcon.
2. What are those Zambians at RoPS in Finland doing to the Zambian name?? They are tarnishing our image as a footballing nation. And to think that the level of football in Finland is quite low,….no enough is enough! I have never read about them ever winning! And the team has got 5 Zambians in the starting line up and a Zambian coach?? Please come back home and embarrass no more. Eish!!
Spaks on Wed, 30th Sep 2009 2:34 PM
Shi Chamar ala this season has been bad for ROPS, they have hardly won any games, im worried about ba Zeddy he may just lose his job, the fact that they have 6 Zambians in the team also says something about the team
Porterfield on Wed, 30th Sep 2009 4:21 PM
Good work ba Zamfoot, but just like Shi Chamar am also very worried about our scoring capabilities. Lets Improve or we keep on losing. It’s so pathetic that out of all the players who played over the weekend, only one scored and the one who scored is not even in the National Team. How for goodness sake do we expect to win matches with this crop of Strikers. To say the least, Zambian Strikers have failed me (banikanga)
yaku on Wed, 30th Sep 2009 4:59 PM
Zeddy Saileti is the assistant coach and player of RoPS. He is not going to lose his job.
I have heard that some of the Zambians in RoPS have a lack of attitude.

Butti ku RoPs naine kuti na teya kanshi. Just glad to see Nkausu finally getting some game time. The strikers definately have some work to do. Also looks like Sinkala is back from his injury which is also good news. Wish I could watch some of these games so I could have a little more than just stat sheets. Mayuka had 2 shots on goal so there is another positive. Lets just hope some good things happen throughout this season. Is Given back in Zambia since the DRC season is over? He should be training with the COSAFA squad then. Why hasn’t a full team list been released for the WC qualifier?

How could it be ku Rops? May be Ukuseka seka. Ba Zamfoot do those players have a any reputation at U17, U20, U23 of the national team?

80 minutes for Felix is mo than welcome.
I hope he impressed enough to earn him a start in the next match,

Our strikers are simply pathetic, I don’t blame HR for recalling Mbesuma. Just watch the last game that we played against Algeria, our strikers were passing the ball in the 18 area. I’m talking about not trying anything at all, but simply passing the ball to another player who was heavily marked. Such strikers should not even make the bench, We need players that are sharp. Speaking of players that use their heads did any one watch the U-20 game between Ghana and England? The second goal was spectacular, the young man did not waste any time to release a thunderbolt in the top corner. The level of maturity in those young players is unbelievable, its say safe to say that Ghana has a bright future.

Last evening, the Joseph Musonda captained Golden Arrows beat Amazulu 1-0. Kalilio Kakonje and Chintu Kampamba did not feature for Amazulu and still no place in the first eleven or the bench for Francis Kombe in the Arrows team.
Vincent Numbwa on Thu, 1st Oct 2009 8:21 AM
ROPS AWE mwandi! Im worried too that our strikers are not scoring, the frontline has been disapointing and cost us a place at the world Cup.
Amuna Onzuna on Thu, 1st Oct 2009 9:15 AM
ROPs is a Disgrace. Are our Zambian Players on Holiday or they dont just have the capability to deliever?.Zamfoot,we want to ask Zedi Sailet some questions, can you arrange a Question & Answer Session so that we can interact?.
Shi Chamar on Thu, 1st Oct 2009 10:02 AM
Cha chine ba Spaks na ba Potterfield. Its wild at ROPs, thats why I agree with Amuna, please arrange for a qn and answer with Zedi Saileti if possible. Speaking on Qn and Answer ba Zamfoot, we are still waiting for the answers to the questions we posed to Emma Mbola.
Copper Bullet(Chipolopolo) on Thu, 1st Oct 2009 2:30 PM
Ba Rops should improve.Whenever I read here,I find losses. Its not encouraging for the Zambian born players. It weakens them & thus weakens our National team in the long run.Nway, hard luck 2 the players, hop the coach does something to improve their performance. Good start for Njovu in Israel, hope Kola also starts to score now,his performance has been dry of goals for long now-at the moment he is ranking worse than Jacob Mulenga who always plays 90minutes but at least scores a goal after playing 8games or so….but we call them Zambia’s best Strikers….Take note HR.

Rops hard lucky-those zambian players are letting down Zeddy Saileti
Awe on Thu, 1st Oct 2009 3:43 PM
I was just thinking. Good strikers are not made, they are just inherently all about goals. Its hard for a coach to teach a player to score goals. Pantu the most you can do is work on technique, speed, and ball control, even utilization of space and so forth. At the end of he day when the player is on the field there are so many possibilities and quick decisions that they have to make. It becomes about instincts, determination, confidence, and all those other technical tools simply help you do the job. We have strikers lacking in the mental aspect of things, and maybe a little in the technique. With that said I think Mayuka is one to look at, because of all the strikers he is one who has not been afraid to put shots on goal. Even in the first Algeria game, when he came off the bench, one of the first things he did was try to put a shot on goal. We were busy being upset about Henry Banda shooting against Algeria in Bilda, now thats definately a technique issue, but the instincts and determination are there.
That is a part of Zambian coaching that seemed to not be worked on enough, the psychology of footballers. Coaches give discipline we pat on the back and we congratulate good play, but they need to get in these guys heads and make them think they can do anything they want. Confidence in players can make such a huge difference, look at Thierry Henry, after he whent to Arsenal the boy was bubbling with confidence and goals just kept coming. Look at Shevchenko nobody believes in him, an now he doesn’t even believe in himself. I’m just venting I guess. We have strikers that can do the job, Renard can’t teach them to score goals but he needs to instill a fearlessness in their approach to games. BUT I think HRs defensive tactics that we have been employing against Egypt and Algeria are because he does not have confidence in our abilities, and its a shame because even with a 4-4-2 I think we can play Egypt or Algeria. Also you can’t play a lone striker like Jacob and expect him to score goals …. unless we start playing more on the wings. Bola naishupa fye mwe.
chiti chitundu on Fri, 2nd Oct 2009 12:51 PM
great update , im just worried about jacob mulenga , its like he has been given chances but he is not on the scoring chart yet. hope he picks up. nice to have sinkala ,kampamba back. ba justice, gamtime, chamz, or spax which league do you think the cyprus league can match?? i really dont know! israel,PSL,Tunisian?????? fill me in. Otherwise i think that our players need to be more ambitious in their approach , we dont want to see a situ where katongo goes down to third tier, jacob back to chatroux, etc. we need them to have more bite. european soccer is tough but others have made. and somtimes tell these agents off sometimes if they want to take you to singapore or haiti just because of a few dollars. i remember phillmon chipeta was once getting less than his agent!!!!!how sad. the guy who does all the job gets less wages . a little eduication will help these players also.
