Helsingborg send Kola to Israel on loan

September 29, 2009

kolaq
International striker Rodgers Kola has completed his eight months loan move to Israeli second division side Bnei Lod from Helsingborg IF of Sweden.

The 20 year old striker passed a medical last week and will join another former Zambia youth star Justine Zulu who is on also on a seasonal loan from newly promoted side Hapoel Be’er Sheva.

Both players played in Bnei Lod’s 1-1 draw on Saturday with Zulu’s goal earning the team the valuable point. Kola played for 70 minutes.

Kola spent the second half of last season on loan in South Africa at the Joseph Musonda captained Golden Arrows and now this season Helsingborg has decided to send him to Israel so that he can gain the necessary European exposure in the country which groomed the likes of Nigeria’s Yakubu and Paintsil of Ghana before their big moves to England.

Helsingborg signed Kola in January from Edusport United and tied him to a 3 year deal.

In addition to Zulu and Kola, two other graduates from the famous ‘class of 07’ also ply their trade in Israel. Emmanuel Mayuka is on the books of Maccabi Tev Aviv while William Njobvu is campaigning for another second tier side Hapoel Kryat Shmonne.

Elsewhere in the transfer news, International defender Francis Kasonde has also clinched an 8 month deal with Al Suwaiq of Oman.

“Yes I have signed an 8 month contract with Al Suwaiq and I have agreed personal terms with the club,” the Chipolopolo Boys’ Mr Reliable told the Zamfoot Crew in an interview from his base last week.

And finally Chipolopolo Boys trainer Herve Renard will have to draft new strikers after Felix Sunzu Jr returned to his base in Tunisia. Sunzu and Kola were being earmarked to lead the attack in the Cosafa Senior

Challenge next month in Zimbabwe.

Sunzu again stayed AWOL from his club duties after he refused to return. Last year prior to Zambia’s Chan 2009 qualifier against Angola the highly talented striker withdrew from camp and flew back to Tunisia.

Sunzu has a year left on his contract with AS Mara. His situation is similar with Fwayo Tembo who is yet to return to Etoile du Sahel. Fwayo’s contract with Etoile will end in 2011.

Fwayo has missed the club’s Orange/CAF Champions League games as well as the start to the new season.

Below is what the Zamfoot Crew source at Etoile du Sahel told us a few weeks ago.

“Personally I believe in his talent and I’m sad to see him doing that.

My opinion is that our president is a person who holds grudges. He refused more than 1 million Euros offer for one player who did the same thing than Tembo.

The message is clear : if you threaten not to play or to go training, you will have peanuts and stay till the end of your contract!

Other player who agreed to wait the « right » timing were rewarded by getting all the transfer amount for themselves (the club got nothing).

I think the president may do the same thing with Tembo to discourage other players to do the same thing.

Zamfoot Verdict: Let Fwayo follow suit what Felix Sunzu has done to go and iron his issues with the club. He should also get his agent unlikegoing AWOL.

    Well,well kola is still young and needs to learn alot in terms of his confidence in front of Goal.Am not really a fan of the league in Isreal and i strongly doubt if at how a zambian player under there books can turn into a star,there development and progress as players is a thing am keenly monitoring.
    Back to the clifford Mulenga issue,i think if we the fans are not serious he will never play for zambia under HR,look at the many times we have called for Sinkala its only now that we are in woes that your coach as called hom upon,lets wait to lose to egpyt for the coach to call him.

    Sinkala to play an holding role while kalaba operates as a ball distributor and play maker,on the other hand tsunami uses is pace and power to be a second striker and with no doubt Mbesuma can provide clinical finishing thunderbolts

    4-4-2 B,overlapîng full backs

    to instruct mbola and muzo to join in the attack while our to defensive midfielders should be zonal and concious when defending.

    The Doctor ua absolutely right the boy cliff mulenga is likely to change citizenship.

    Any country wil receive hm,as long as Faz has a vision to lose ,cliff mulenga wil neva b called.

    HR shud tel us y he hate us zambians.

    4rogers i wish hm the best n he shud listn to justine zulu as he has stayed longer in israel n at same club.

    I c zambia do miracles with a local trainer than a foreign coach.

    By the way y do we hate continuity,i feel luandamina shud av continued as unda 20 coach and P Phiri shud av continued as chipolopolo coach then this guy called kaluushya shudnt av bn president bt a soccer fan like me.

    @The Doctor

    I like your formations, especially the one with the two wingers. Only a couple of comments. Muzo and Mbola need to switch sides (I think this was merely a typying mistake).

    As we don’t have Clifford in camp I would go with Fwayo on the left and Jonas on the right. I watched Henry in CHAN and he didn’t really impress me. He started brightly against Cote D’Ivoire, but the flame went out as the tournament progressed.

    I don’t think Chris will be benched so it will be interestig who HR thinks should partner with him upfront. Jacob plays for a big club and gets rave reviews in Holland, but has found it difficult with Chipolopolo. Mbesuma was a hell of a player, but his form has dipped badly. The reports from SA are that he has regained fitness and is looking sharp in training.

    The other possible change might be Gattuso for Noah in the mid.

    It is a nice problem for HR to have.

    @Ngulube
    Jacob his relatively a good player,making him a super sub can be great,i believe is not yet a 90 minute player.we should understand that sum players are nt supposed to play all the minutes in the game with is hight and strength he would make serious runs for 20 minutes that would cause the opponets avoke to mark him

    @Whisper
    Great i like the inclusion of Gattusso he is a great midfielder on is day.As for fwayo is good but there is just too much of dribbling and looks like he runs out of ideas,sakuahwa is energetic ang a powerfull winger but cuts inside alot ,i just hope is role will change now that his playing in france,he can make a very good holding player in likes of essien and mikel

    Zulu & Kola are Tall-Good Players,they represent the future for Zambia.In Two years time,we shall be singing a song of praise.Atleast,the Class of 07 is still alive unlike the class of 99.Zulu reminds me of Patrick Viera.

    thats good news for kola. i hope that fwayo and stophilla follow suit. its better to keep yourself charged and playing than to be moving about in town aimlessly. good move i hope it becomes permanent in my view israel its better than PSL. We would have expected mr reliable to get a deal in europe his experience is not bad. maybe in french ligue 2 or norway first tier. i hope thats not the end of him. well we hope that we can do somthing for the players and market them to better leagues in readiniess for 2014 in brazil. thats the only way to go.
