Kalaba made the switch on Friday last week and Braga hope the Mufulira born midfielder will continue his progress at Uleiria after spending another seasonal loan at second tier side Gil Vicente last season were he scored 9 goals.
In Sunday’s goalless stalemate against Maritimo, Kalaba did not feature but will hoping to push his way into the Uleiria first team after the international break in which he is suspended after accumulating his second yellow against Algeria.
Uleiria has so far drawn all their games thus have 3 points. Kalaba signed a year deal with Sporting Braga last year after impressing the club’s scout early in 2008 when Zambia played against Tunisia in the Ghana 2008 Afcon warm up matches. He is yet to make a competitive debut for Braga though he featured during pre-season games.
Meanwhile Germany based midfielder Andrew Sinkala who has been struggling with a knock for a week played for 90 minutes for his club FC Augsburg on Sunday in the 1-1 draw against FC Union of Berlin. Sinkala played in front of the back four in a diamond midfield.
Chipolopolo Boys skipper Chris Katongo continued his fine form in the Germany second tier after scoring in Arminia Bielefeld’s 4-2 away win over SpVgg Greuther Futh on Saturday.
Katongo scored the third goal to make 3-2 for the visitors before Frederico made is 4-2. Tsunami started on the right flank of midfield and played the full game. This is his third goal in the four games played so far in Bundesliga 2. He was also on the scoresheet on the first match of the season in the German DFB Cup thus taken his tally to four for the season.

Aces sign Mulenga
Posted: 2009-08-31 14:53
Mpumalanga Black Aces have signed Zambian midfielder Clifford Mulenga from Bidvest Wits ahead of tonight’s transfer deadline.
Mulenga, who spent last season with Thanda Royal Zulu, has signed a one-year deal.
Amazayoni spokesperson Thabo Moroape also confirms to KickOff.com that his club has also signed Nigerian striker Chiabozor Noogbo on a two-year contract.
“Many people will remember Chiabozor from his good performance in the pre-season Manguang tournament that was held in Bloemfontein.
“The Nigerian striker has signed for two-years with us. We are also hoping to register Cameroonian midfielder Yabeur William before the end of the day,” Moroape adds.

It is important for chipolopolo to keep working hard even if the odds are against us.With good match focus and some slice of luck we can upset the highly rated algerians.

zamfoot allow me to make a point of correction, Kalaba has already made a competitive debut in the champions league against Elfsborg of Sweden. He came on as a second half sub if i remember correctly.

Does anyone know the programme for this training? Are there any friendlies organised and with whom? Where exactly in France is this camp? I emailed FAZ asking about this but got no response. There is nothing on their website either

Like Mr Johnie Walker “Keep Walking”. Wherever you go, just knuckle down and get on with it. Don’t despair about being on loan.

What is good about this move is that it is now in the top flight. What Braga want for Kalaba is game time and ability to show case his skill at the highest level of the Portugal game. If he can prove himself then they will get him back. But its good also because Unioa can purchase him alright if he impresses. He is now in the shop window. Braga had won all their opening two games and where on top of the league by the weekend and I had a chance to watch their recorded matches their side is brimming with talent Kalaba would have had to do with warming the bench.

kalaba is a very good player although he is lacking a bit in height and body size. But on the other hand, for what he lacks, he makes up in skill.
so go boy go we are behind you.
Mabbwana on Mon, 31st Aug 2009 5:48 PM
Good one this for Kalaba. What I like about Bragga, they seem to know what they want from the boy, when they cant use him, they find a place, unlike what we saw in the Feligo case in France.
I hop Clifford now settles and develops his game at his new home unlike what we saw last season, an exciting talent yet failing to hold down a position in a relagation team.
DaMwiinger on Mon, 31st Aug 2009 6:22 PM
<<Thanks. The national team might play montipellier (sp).
How come we have “might” play? I was hoping FAZ had a concrete plan.
josef,RSA on Mon, 31st Aug 2009 7:44 PM
Someone, FAZ or anyone please manage/mentor this talent( cliford mulenaga’s talent) carefully please, this talent may go down the drain if not well checked
Whisper on Mon, 31st Aug 2009 8:11 PM
Guys, like DaMwiinger has said, how come we don’t know what the Chipolopolo programme in France is? Have we not learnt anything from past endeavours? We will end up playing against a bunch of school kids if we aren’t careful. Govt are spending ZMK 1.3 bn on this trip and no one seems to know the programme?! Awe, we are going no where fast.
Matafwali on Mon, 31st Aug 2009 10:50 PM
This is truly frustrating. I don’t see how anyone can defend FAZ anymore.
Justice Kafusha on Mon, 31st Aug 2009 11:05 PM
Why should we play a friendly game this time around? Before we played Algeria in Chilies, Kenya had requested for a friendly game Vs Zambia just after the Rwanda game. We did not play and the excuse was the short time before we played Algeria. This time the time is even shorter, so why should we play this friendly game on Wednesday which is 4 days before clashing with Algeria when we refused to play Kenya 6/7 days before the clash with Algeria in Chilies? Sorry but I do not see any logic in this
Chamz on Tue, 1st Sep 2009 9:15 AM
Justice, if the coach is ok with it, who are we to disagree? The Kenya thing did not make sense because we were playing competitive games in a row. I think the biggest mistake were I blame FAZ was the Ghana game scandal!!
Amuna Onzuna on Tue, 1st Sep 2009 9:57 AM
I feel bad for Mweene,he might not concentrate fully,I hope he will be professional enough to play well for Zambia if he manages to go to France.Clifford need to change his attitude,he is growing and should know that his Football Career is getting shorter with each day that passes. This is the time he can concentrate, play professional soccer, become a star like Messi and enjoy the money afterwards.
As for Kalaba,I cant complain that he is being loaned somewhere coz,he really needs to get cooked for Top-fright soccer.
Justice Kafusha on Tue, 1st Sep 2009 10:20 AM
Yes but we had 14 days in between the 2 games
Chamz on Tue, 1st Sep 2009 11:47 AM
Justice give my your mobile with international codes, I only have internet at office and not home, so I won’t be able to watch the Zed/Algeria game because it will be late in the night here in Namibia, maybe you can update me on Sunday, mune-send it to [email protected].
Chamz on Tue, 1st Sep 2009 11:56 AM
Namibia is out of Africa Cup, World and all junior competitions but they now have a new coach and are making sure they are playing football on all FIFA days. They have played Lebanon, DRC and this weekend Swaziland. I am highlighting long term planning, which lacks in Zambia.
chiti chitundu on Tue, 1st Sep 2009 3:35 PM
True gentlemen its better than him coming back to start “keeping fit” or “guest player” with a zambian club. its better he is that side than him coming down here , he may just lose focus and the problem here is that too much free time then you start doing the bad habits and then thats it.
its all good and its shows that they beleive in him and want more game time for him. as for kola its bad if he is clubless looking to the fact that the tranfer deadline closes today. so what happens to the remaining contract with helisinborg? can he go there and train with the reserves please. here it wont do him good at all. he will be like fwayo who is just malingering about save for the trip to france.

Amen @Smm-soJ. Arabs used to get tired, what happened to their metabolism? We only had to contain them, then finish them off. I think there was also a lot tactical discipline with our players. ZAFCA what are we not teaching. ZAFCA must be seen in the academy system.
