Renard in dark over Tana’s absence

CHIPOLOPLO coach Herve Renard has said the absence of veteran defender Elijah Tana was due to lack of information about the player.

Renard said this yesterday when asked about the continued omission of the Angola-based defender from recent call ups.

“I have no news from him. I don’t know where he is,” he said.

Meanwhile, Chipolopolo yesterday lost 2-1 to Red Arrows in a training game.However, after the match Renard did not give any interviews.

If today’s article is something to go by, Jonas and his agent are reported to have rejected the offer of between $2000 – $3000. According to his agent that amount is worth nothing in Europe. I understand where he’s coming from, especially from a professional footballers perspective. Nowadays, footballers are used to there telephone number style wages.

However, it’s important to point out Average Joe on the streets manages on such a salary. Furthermore, you have to be a proven player in Europe to command that top dollar salary. E.g. Drogba, Essien, Eto’o etc. Remember what reputation Mbesuma came with from the PSL and how miserably he failed in England, slightly better in Portugal and then capitulated in Turkey?

That’s one of the reasons Zambian players only manage to go as far as the PSL. PRIDE. Pride comes before fall. Has anyone any idea how much Kolo Toure was earning when he just signed for Arsenal from ASEC? It is very sad that people think it is the Zesco united who do not want Jonas to go. The two club have already agreed and Zesco paid for his visa and insurance for the trip.Zesco could not have done this if they did not want him to go. Jonas could not agree with his agent and the France club. The France club has not sent any new offer. The agent has sent an email that saying that the club has agreed to pay the Jonas 7,000usd pay month and 10,000usd as signing fee. The Club says the can only give jonas the new offer in December.Jonas has asked his agent to send the contract from the club with the new offer. Up to now that contract has not been sent. Zesco and Jonas are still waiting for the new offer from the France Club. We are hope the new contract will come soon so that Jonas can be on his way to France.Those are the facts at hand.I will up date you when we get the new contract.
