According to highly placed sources in both Lusaka and Kitwe, the ‘Dinamo’ hiearrachy have hired former Zanaco coach Danny Kabwe as head coach.
Fathy who joined the Ndeke boys at the start of this season’s campaign has been under fire from the die hard fans after a string of poor results. In his 16 games in-charge of the 1991 CAF/Mandela Cup winners, Fathy only managed to steer the club to five victories, seven draws and 4 losses including a 3-0 bashing by Zanaco in what proved to be his last game at the helm.
Kabwe, Fathy’s replacement is known for bringing the league title to Sunset Stadium in 2004 and will looking to show his creditials starting with tomorrow’s game against bottom placed Nakambala Leopards.
Midweek games
Zamtel v Green Buffaloes
Konkola v Forest
Kabwe Warriors v Chambishi
Choma Eagles v Roan
Young v Zanaco
Lusaka Dyn. v Red Arrows
City v Zesco Utd (postponed)

I knew the guy was far from being a coach when he was at warriors. I hope it not too late for Power to finish tops we need a kitwe team in CAF championship next year.

I saw this coming. with all the resources at his dipsosal still could not steer PD to a better first half of the ZPL. 5 wins, 7 draws and 4 Losses. Now thats poor results for a club like PD.
Lets see what ba DK will do for the remainder of the season (and I have feeling he will turn the tables around)

Where’s Gift Kampamba? Have’nt heard about him lately. What a talent this boys was!!! Could someone update us please.
Uncle Bobs on Wed, 5th Aug 2009 6:51 AM
Gift played for my Nkana last season and wasn’t as swift as he was and seemingly ka age had caught up, but you could see that sense wise abaiche balechepa. The l;ast i heard, he went to try out with some team in Mvela League. I will find out Ba Chisha and revert.
My predictions about Power seem to be in line so far. Incedentally Fathy was recommended to both Warriors and Power by the FAZ hierarchy, not that i am speculating but it is the truth 110%!Like Ba Spaks has said the guy was selling in some eatery somewhere in Kamwala and did not come straight from Egypt. A friend of mine met Egyptians who had come to do a due diligence in readiness for the upcoming match with us whether they knew Fathy and they roundly said they had never heard of such a coach.
Last yearat the time Warriors players were on a near mutiny for unpaid salaries, i drove in my vehicle the Warriors strongman Mr CHIRWA to Railways ground only to find Fathy indirectly encouraging players to boycott. In my presence the ka guy, came to Mr Chirwa and said “At least there are a lot of businessman, find something for the coach since me i have to send money back home”. In as much as Fathy (and players) had the right to claim their dues, i found his conduct to be unprofessional.
If you remember at the start of the season i questioned how an experienced man like Ba Kabole could be replaced by a gonga Fathy and predicted that Power would pay, and yes they have. having watched Power against Zesco in Ndola and Arrows in Lusaka and compared with the impressive Power under Ba Kabole, i was just amazed why Power had gone backwards and at a higher price(both monetary and otherwise).

Big Steve from SA on Wed, 5th Aug 2009 9:03 AM
Correct me if my reasoning is wrong here but after 16 games, 11 of the teams on the logs have more loses than Power, only 6 teams have more wins than power meaning 9 other teams have less wins. Power and Forest rangers have the worst number of draws at 7 but all in all, after sixteen games I dont think fathys record deserves all the ridicule he is getting. He is sittin or was sitting mid table with less loses and more wins than a horde of other teams so am not sure about this calling him all sorts of names what about the coaches that are strugling underneath him in the league, should they all be fired as well??
Justice Kafusha on Wed, 5th Aug 2009 9:06 AM
What about ba division 1, Nchanga Eleven wise men, Rokana etc

@Big Steve from SA
Big Steve power is a big club pa Zedi, and this guy gets a lot dollars. He has tp perform. My impression about him is that ala yumfwa too much. He gets 15,000,000 kwacha, he has to do the job that will benefit us. Mudenda pa bench. There is something wrong

As for uncle dan i know you are well trained and that you will do well especially if the guys coarprate i would like to see laughter chilembe (bone breaker) as captain.

On a soccer note, are you bringing your team Rangers something like a kit,or even balls it would really motivate them.

ZESCO to protest
Zesco United Football Club plans to protest to the Confederation of African Football –CAF- over their one goal loss to Al hilal of Sudan.
Zesco lost 1-0 to the Sudanese in the CAF Orange Africa Champions League match played in Khartoum.
The team’s technical officials say the corner kick which resulted into the game’s lone goal was supposed to have been ruled as a goal kick.
Zesco senior manager for Industrial Relations, Salim Banda, says the television footage clearly shows that the referee wrongly awarded Al Hilal, a corner kick.
Banda says Zesco United officials are discussing the matter in detail to determine how to present the protest to the continental football governing body.
And head coach, Fighton Simukonda, said the referee from Benin was biased.

Correct Steve!,I dont think Fathy deserves this kind of treatment. How about Kabwe Warriors?,Should the Coach be fired as well?.I think, instead of Coaches being the victims, its the players who should be canned because, they are supposed to work extra hard for a win.Look at Mudenda, where is he?.Elson Mkandawire, even Francis Kasonde, where are these players?.Atleast,we should have some headlines about players as well.
kabobola on Thu, 6th Aug 2009 8:46 AM
fathy fired?dream come true.
jc on Sat, 8th Aug 2009 2:26 PM
I have watched power dynamos several times this year. They an average side and nothing special with them really. Power needs players of the calibre of Kabamba. Changing the coach only will not be enough.
