Maccabi Tev Aviv invite Chivuta for trials

chivuta
SuperSport United midfielder Noah Chivuta is set to jet out to Israel Thursday night where he will have trials with Maccabi Tel Aviv were another Chipolopolo Boys striker Emmanuel Mayuka is on their books

Chivuta’s departure has been confirmed to KickOff.com by his agent at Stella Africa, Steve Kapeluschnik who says the Zambian national team midfielder is expected to spend a week with the Tel Aviv outfit.

“Noah is very excited about the chance to play in Israel. He has done well in local football and with the Zambian national team and deserves his chance to play overseas.

“Maccabi Tel Aviv are big team in Israel and they will be playing in the Uefa Champions League, so if Noah signs he could get the chance to compete in one of the biggest tournaments in the World.”

And on another South African website Soccerladuma.com has exclusively revealed that former Orlando Pirates midfielder Perry Mutapa is training with Moroka Swallows, hoping to secure a deal with the Dube Birds!

Mutapa left Pirates at the end of the 2005/06 season and went back home to Zambia, where he played for Lusaka Dynamos. He was also on the books of FC AK, although for a short stint.

According to our sources, Mutapa is now training with Swallows. “He’s training with Swallows but nothing has come out of it yet. I think the team is still assessing him,” revealed a source close to the player.

When the Siya crew called Swallows, a member of the technical team confirmed, speaking on condition of anonymity, that Mutapa was indeed training with the Dube Birds.

“Yes, that’s true, he’s training here with a number of other trialists, but we haven’t finalised anything yet. We’ll give them another week or so before we decide who to sign.

Algerian :Comon guys your players need to stop signing at these clubs and try to get attention from the UK, Spanish, German and Italian leagues instead.

Algeria, we have players in Germany, France, Netherlands, Portugal so its not like we are all about Israel. And by the way are you a real algerian or are you just a trouble maker from zed looking to stir up trouble? Your one this blog a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Algerian :Sceptic Germany?? 2nd league. France?? 2nd league. Netherlands?? Who plays there???…… All of your “International” players play in 2nd leagues.

Obviously you dont know much about zambian football we have filx katongo rennes in france is that second league ? Jacob mulenga is at utrecht in the netherlands for your information ,Germany chris armenia bielefield bundesliga just got relegated and Rainford kalaba braga portuguese 1 divisao .At least all our players start there careers from the zambia league ZPL and brake their way into europes top leagues unlike the the majority of the algerian players who start careers in french second division spend all there lives in trying to brake into frances Ligue 1.

A little surprised at Perry. Here in SA we are made to believe there is mad money in Angola. I think mabe he is considering recreating his chances of playing in the national team again. To be true players from any other league in africa but the PSL do not make it to the natonal team so it is a move in the right direction. He still has about three or maybe four years of football in him so he needs to make the bes of it whilst he can.

Noah is such a true professional in many ways and I think a large contributing factor is his being born again. He is one of those players I would not be surprised if ss moved him up the ranks in the coaching team on completion of his career. I hope he makes it in Isreal and gets game time that wil only be good for the national team and himself.

  • dami wrote on 10 July, 2009, 9:47

Mabbwana :Finally a chance for Chivuta to break off the SS bench. Am sure we could hav done better for Chipolopolo if he had been receiving mo gametime at club. Dami, the guy has a sweet left foot, he is clever and adds alot of thrust going forward especially on the left side of midfield. Dami, why dont you stick around this blog so that you update us on Chivuta’s trial progress and how young Mayuka is develnping. We all would appreciate that.

    No problem. I’l updated later.

What can you tell me about Chicuta’s defenseve and dribble skills?

Good to hear of Noah’s good altitude with his career. It will be a good thing to have him play in Israel.

I talked to some DRC club(popopo) players this morning who talked so highly of Given and another Zambian player Banda FM who is with their club. Any one with an ideal who this Banda is please let me know I had never heard of him till this morning.

  • Chamz wrote on 10 July, 2009, 10:23

I have known Perry, Osward Mutapa JR and SR from the days we used to watch Nkwazi as small boys from trees at Edwin Imboela. Perry was really promising at under 20 level, he even went to Europe, I don’t know what happened.
On Noah, it was not that Gavin had anything against him, Noah was sorting out his SA papers when the season started as a result, he lost his place in the team. At the end of last season, he approached Gavin and Given told him he was in his plans. I think Noah is a good example to guys like Felix. I heard that he is Born Again? Maybe that is the reason for his good behaivor.

Looks like Chivuta was already on the books to sign for Maritzburg United when he left for Isreal. So either way it looks like he is going to get game time next season. Looks like him and his manager were working overtime during the off season.

  • Kashman wrote on 10 July, 2009, 11:24

Noah has got potential to make it,In the Current crop of players very few can strike a free kick from the left like kalu and he suprised a lot of pipo including when he played as a left back, all the best to him.

CHAMZ:Read all the posts I have posted and that of Algeria then you will notice that we are two different.I can confidently tell you that even Zamfoot can attest to that.I thought you CHAMZ was in the position to notice that unless you tell me your intelligence is below average.

  • Gametime12 wrote on 10 July, 2009, 18:06

    @Punch
This is what I was trying to explain in the other post. Breaking into the premiere league alone used to take a long time. I used to play amateur football too, I also have brothers that played in the lower division. Most of the coaches in Zambia don’t pick players on merit, they have their own people. If you don’t know anyone then you will have to wait till you get old to break into the league.

Hi guys, I have some information that Clifford has signed in Isreal. This info came to me via personal connections and I’m not able to share my source, but hopefully confirmation is on it’s way.

No news on how Jonas is doing, but am working on getting some info.

Dami, thanks for your information. Seems like I might have been misinformed, my source is now saying that things are ‘complicated’. Well I’m sure we will find out the truth soon.

I’d also be interested to hear what the Maccabi Tel Aviv fans think of Emmanuel Mayuka. I watched a DVD of the derby match with Maccabi Haifa and must say that it looked like Emmanuel found it a bit tough, although he played more or a left midfielder in the first half.

    Mabbwana :
Dami, Whisper, thanks guys for making frantic efforts to dig out information on whats happening in Israel. I hop Cliff signs because if he doesnt am sure it wil beat down heavily on his big ego which seems to be his drive. I have noted with concern that there are some guys who seem to be bent on distracting our soccer discussions on the blog by concentrating on petty personal attacks. Lets just concentrate on the beautifu game here. You make the blng less interesting. Chamz you are an old timer & now you hav bcam like the captain on the blog coz u seem to log on mo than most of us. My bro help us by setting the tone & driving the discussions. I think at 1 time we did that with abena Steve, Dinamo, Spaks, etc like who ever wud gt on 1st. Chamz, send me mail so that we chat on how we can clean up the blog or whoever is interested on chimukahampango@yahoo.co.uk

Wow, you sound like a candidate campaigning for some position or power or something. Are you this thirsty for power ? Yeah, I guess, like most Zambians …
