@Big Steve from SA
Big Steve USA Was on the defensive the entire time in that game, so was Egypt when they beat Italy. This show's my consistence in my posts, but I was disgusted by Egypt's delaying tactics. Did you see the US team use the same tactics? of course not, I remember predicting Egypt's elimination from the tournament. That's because you cant keep on wasting time just to win games to get to the finals.

CHAMZ we can also laugh the loudest like USA if we put the Algeria loss aside & remain focused in the next 3 games.To achieve this we need to: (a) Sort out the height disadvantage in our defence.Nyambe and Dennis are versatile defenders but their height disqualifies their partnership.We need a huge defender like Chintu or Hichani to partner either of the two (Nyambe/Dennis) to avoid funny goals like Algeria's first goal. (b) We need to find a natural holding midfielder who can defend & distribute the ball.Kasonde can defend but he can't distribute.Chivuta can distribute but he lacks defending skills so we need a natural midfielder like SINKALA who can defend & distribute the ball. (c) Our attacking midfield also lacks that aggresive approach & thats the reason why we are poor in counter attacks.HR should try to partner Kalaba & Felix with aggresive players like CHANSA or SAKUHAWA so that we become more direct in our attack. (d) Our frontline is one area that completely lacks poachers.We currently have no finisher in the box to rely on & its time we started playing friendlies so that we try out the likes of Boyd Mwila,Mweetwa,Timothy Mbewe etc as we groom abena Mayuka,Kola etc for the future. (e) We also require a leader in the team.Chris has of late lost confidence & he is not being inspirational to the as captain.Why should a captain complain of being played out of position when he can swap positions & inspire the team to victory??.Great Kalu could take things personal & join the frontline from the left & get a vital goal even Wisdom Chansa could do the same at Arthur Davies,he could move from the right & join Makwaza on top to inspire the team.Thats the inspiration we need from Chris. Otherwise we still stand a chance to be part of WOZA 2010.

By any standards USA played well right fromt the beginning they showed thier intentions known, in the aftermath of our defeat to algeria i indicated that we played very well and were the better side oof the two even though we failed to do the most crucial thing ... scoring ... i went to write that football is quite unpredictable such that any team can lose to anyone, i even indicated that a national team can lose to even a select side, i said tjis to remind the 'soccer cadres' not 'soccer fans' that writing off Zambia at this stage is very incorrect and totally/bluntantly misleading ... Zambia i indicated with the same team can beat anyteam anywhere and hence we need to keep our hope, better die with hope than none at all ... before the USA - Spain match, few people ever thought of what happened, in football anything is possible, it all about whta happens in a moment, am not taking away the need to prepare but is also to adquately prepare but fall greatly ... its football ... so i refuse not to visionlise good about Zambia's chances of taking this part of Africa to SA 2010, some people are so negative/persmistic especially against thier own national teams, constructive critism is is very viable but others cant differentiate ... better to remain silent than to utter/write unnecessary statements ... there is more sense in an algerian/rwandese/egyptian making serious claims to the SA 2010 slot for his respective team than a zambian making statements against his team, where is our attachment to our dear land, where is our patrotism??? only foreigners are greatly permitted to doubt our ablities ... i thot we beat South Africa and Ivory Coast in the recent past in their own back yards with the same crop of players withe the exception of one or two players!!! lets not be hopeless ... Zambia has 100% chance of going to SA2010 just like the other teams ... as for me i will ever seek the welfare of my land (my only land) ... God bless the republic through and through ...

Chamz :USA lost first two games conceding six goals. But they had never said never belief. Yesterday the stopped Spain’s unbeaten record in 35 games and are in the final. Zambia has lost one game, conceded 3- goals with three games to go and fellow Zambians have given up!! If we only had the American confidence.

Chamz, I’ve got to give you a big up on this one. You are so spot on my man SO SPOT ON!!!!!! we loose one game in three and guys, zambians for that matter, just trash our national team. NO BELIEF AT ALL and they want to believe they are being practical. Before the Americans beat Egypt I wonder what praticality these non- belivers in the Zambian game would have said. America in the final!! obviously a big NO NO!!!

I think the USA played as a complete team which was well drilled in Preparation.. they were well prepared, they don't have big 'stars' but have a good,organised and well prepared team.
Zambia can surely learn from this only if they stop training with orlando pirates youth team.....we need much more and better organisation all sectors of soccer in zambia to reach the USA standard

The USA were simply the 'Best'.Their passing,their marking and defending of magnificent.They managed to neutralise Xabi who is Spain's anchorMan.Beautiful football,Spain was nowhere near their best.I hope Zambia can learn a lesson from the US

Gametime12 :Zambian players have to die a little for mother Zambia. USA did not even play that good, they just fought till the final whistle.

Eish my man I dont know what counts to you as a good game. When Egypt beat Italy you said the game was not that good, now USA. looks to me like when the underdog wins then its not a god game in your books. America played well yesterday and Spain came out all guns blazing especially in the last 15 minutes of the first half but the American game plan was solid. they played the big name players out of the game. even when Torres tried to drop to pick up something he was shut down in midfield, Xabi was almost not there david Villa probably has a lot on his mind considering his transfer but all in all they had a perfect game plan and it paid off with two goals.Zambia has the man power to beat the French, ah sorry the Algerians. We just need a proper study of their game and players and build a game plan around this and we will carry the day.

I hope our Chipolopolo Boys can play like the way the USA played in the last two games.Spain was nowhere near,their supply was cut off.Indeed,there are no underdogs in this game called 'football'.We might see Bafana Bafana upsetting tables today.

This was basic football fundamentals. Always keep your body between the ball and your goal. Sounds basic but thats American soccer. Same principle is applied in every american sport. Who needs stars? They said all they wanted was to score against Spain, not win, and by-golie they did it. The Zambian team needs fight, even a little Drogba attitude. Zambians by nature are too passive, but thats the cultural effect.
