Kabamba brace extend Zanaco lead…as Dinamo snatch win
In form Congolese born striker Patrick Kabamba scored a brace on Saturday afternoon as Zanaco thrashed Chambishi 3-0 in the FAZ/KCM Premier League match.
And Power Dynamos got a morale boaster win in front of their home crowd after the Mohamad Fathy’s coached side narrowly beat Green Buffaloes by a goal to nil.
Chambishi 0-3 Zanaco
Zanaco went five point clear ahead of Zesco United who have three games in hand after thrashing Aggrey Chiyangi’s helpless Chambishi at their own turf.
Kabamba, who is believed to be onloan from Nkana opened the scores in the 12th minute before trick winger Banda ‘Thiery’ Henry doubled the lead 10 minutes later. The energetic striker had to wait on the hour mark to seal all three points for the bankers as he netted his 11th goal of the campaign. Kabamba has now scored a hatrick and a brace this season and one goal shy from equaling Aubrey Zulu’s 12 goals last season which earned him the 2008 Zambian top scorer award.

Date: 31th May 2009
Time: 15:00 hours
Venue: Arthur Davies Stadium, Kitwe
Power 1-0 Buffaloes
Striker Luka Lungu scored the only goal of the match to hand save his coach from invective of Ndeke faithful. Had it not being for poor finishing from Lungu’s striker partner Alex Ng’onga, ‘Dinamo’ could have put the game beyond the soldiers’ reach.
Goalkeeper Rabson Mucheng’anga made two world class saves to first by preventing a left footed drive from a Brain Lubaba freekick and second from an Edward Musebu acrobatic header after a well taken freekick by Sebastian Mwansa.
Skipper of the day, Joseph Sitali impressed for Power while Kennedy Mudenda had a relatively quite day.

FAZ should organise the citenship for this man ASAP…week in week out he has kept on scoring goals.
Sorry talking about Patrick Kabamba above….we should learn from teams like France….
There is a worrying trend here. Given Singuluma has been our top man at the national team but he doesnt seem to be featuring amongst the local top scorers. Could it be that he is applying less effort in the local league ? there is need for consistency on his part. am a bit worried.
Singuluma has played much in the league this season. He has been out on international duty.
But this boy Kabamba should be poached by FAZ. He is natural goal getter.
Imagine 9 goals in 10 games. while it took 12 goals in 30 games for Aubrey Zulu last season.
Kalaba scored 14 goals and Enoch Sakala scored 13 goals in the league in the 2008 season.
P.S. Kalaba ended the season with 24 or 26 in all competitions in 2008.
Kabamba has shown he is a good striker by consistently scoring goals, he’s not a flash in the pan. He’s been banging in goals for the last 3 seasons, that is when you know the chap is quality.
On a less positive note, I see the curse of the 0-0 draw has returned to our league. 4/7 games finished 0-0, that’s not a good sign.
I had a chance to watch the game between baffaloes and power.what a good shot stoper muchelenganga is.the two saves were too good to be true.
I agree with Police Monk, why can’t FAZ learn from France and other big European teams which adopt players. For instance portugal have Deco (Brazil), Nani (Cape Verde)and France’s 2006 FIFA World Cup starting 11 comprised of more than half of the players with african origin: Abidal, Patrick Veira, Claude Makelele, Sydney Govou, Florent Malouda, Lilian Thuram and the man himself who has proved to be one of the world’s best footballers Zinedine Zidane.
We understand Kabamba is a Congolese, a player from the DRC has featured for Zambia before (Matthews “Papa” Kamwashi”) even this time FAZ should consider securing his services because there is nothing wrong with adopting players.
Remember we adopted Papa Kamwashi,he even scored when we drew 1-1 agai
MALAWI BEAT
RWANDA 2-0
And I believe Rwada used the first team Which is likely to feature against the CHIPOLOPOLO, and believe me if ZAMBIA is going to be ogernised as expected, the game against Rwanda is going to finish 4-nil in favour of Zambia.
@I saw Kalusha play
Is this Kabamba guy far better than players like Given or Jacob? If yes then Faz should give him an opportunity. If he’s at the same level with our players then there is no need to “rope him in”.
Colleagues
Let us be careful. Those players who play for france, went to france when they were toddlers and are virtually french in all respectives. Their allegiance is to France.
Kabamba came to Zambia in the last three to four years as an already grown adult. He is far from being intergarted in the Zambian way of live. He ha grown up congolese all his life and his allegiance is therefore to Congo. You may find that you poach him, tommorrow he signs for a french side as a congolese player.
guys.. I don’t see why we would want Kabamba in our national team set up. If anything, he is a great positive for the growth of our local leagues. We should be like other European leagues and embrace foreign talent choosing to ply their trade in Zambia. They bring competition and we shouldn’t let blind jealousy stop future players from wanting to come to our league. Let the man play for Congo!
Gents Kabamba is good. His scoring appetite can only be compared to the ZPL all time scoring greats like Kelvin Mutale(who if my memory is right netted over 30 goals for Nkana in 1992),Kennerth Malitoli,Linos Makwaza,Paul Chellah,Ackson ‘Scad’ Shimbala,Mwape Miti,Kellies Mwaba,Musole Sakulanda,Frazer Kamwandi etc.If we can get him for Chipolopolo lets go for it, issues of allegence are not neccesary
JC and CIROC, we have had players that grew up in France but ended up playing for Algeria/Morocco. If it allows us to call Patrick, let’s go for it. I have spoken to Patrick and i get the impression he has acclimatised into the Zambian culture.
