Singuluma in Congo as Haka FC awaits.
Most sought after Zambia striker Given ‘Freedom’ Singuluma is in Congo at T.P Mazembe while Haka FC are waiting for him to begin his professional career in Finland. Singuluma is reportedly in Congo to finalize his Mazembe deal while Haka Director Juha Lahtinen claimed his club was in possession of Singuluma’s International Transfer Certificate (ITC).
Lahtinen said when told the former Bay United striker was caught up in a transfer triangle:
‘’That’s really not my concern we are expecting him here.’’
Meanwhile, T.P Chairman Moses Katumbi said the Zanaco striker had signed a 2 year deal:
‘’He signed a two year contract. He got money; we are surprised he has not come.’’
Katumbi confirmed that Singuluma had since arrived in Lumbubashi.
The CHAN Golden boot winner was not among the Chipolopolo Boys taken through their paces at Barclay Sports Complex yeaterday with Herve Renard reiterating that the player was not to blame for the mess facing him and had his blessings to skip camp to attend to his problems.

Disparities in Kalu debts
Three different figures have emerged in Kaluha Bwalya’s due owed to him by government for services as the Chipolopolo Technical advisor.
The committee set up to look into the debt has come up with 3 different figures from the K740 that was brought to the fore by FAZ Treasurer Borniface Mwamelo at the FAZ AGM.

Andrew Sinkala’s sibling Nathan’s 3 month contract at Israel side Hapoel Kiryat Shmone has come to end but there is no extension in sight for the under 20 international. His agent Nir Karin has said the Green Buffaloes midfielder was being considered for a longer term but the season was coming to an end in Israel and the youngster was expected back in the country soon as he faced a long wait to see whether he would be signed up permanently.

Wao! I think Collins must do his homework well. It looks like these weight problems have hit our players so much. I hope he will reduce on Chibuku. Can someone tell me where Billy Mwanza is.

Billy Mwanza is in China. Our reporter in Denmark, Justice Kafusha can fill you in, he says he watches James Chamanga and Billy play in China.

Mbesuma is lucky,he must use the chance effectively and be focused>. .

Its not looking good for singuluma. Umwaiche was in a rush.
Chamz on Wed, 13th May 2009 11:17 AM
HR told these boys to wait until after CHAN but they did not listen. TP Mazembe? In DRC? The boy will now have to be banned and FIFA decide. U can’t blame FAZ but the player. HR says in the times that Nantes or Nancy of France wanted Mbola but the boy went to Armenia. Our players are not sharp, even you guys can’t sign three employment contracts.

I wish Mulife all the best, I know him when he was here in Namibia, good lad this one.
Leopards target Zambian keeper
Posted: 2009-05-13 10:51
Black Leopards are on the verge on signing a Zambian goalkeeper Sitali Mulife who currently plies his trade with Malanti Chiefs in Swaziland.
Lidoda Duvha director David Thidiela was on hand in Swaziland when DR Congo club AS Vita knocked the Swaziland outfit out of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The player’s manager Abel “Chacklas” Shongwe tells KickOff.com that his player will be on his way to South Africa soon.
“We have agreed on terms with Leopards and are just waiting for the season to end in Swaziland before he goes for the pre-season training with Leopards,” Shongwe said.
Mulife has also played for Civics in Namibia and also at international level with Zambia’s Under-20 and Under-23 teams.

Singuluma uku temwa ulu piya. yalwa ishakwa Katumbi. DRC Congo sure kwena mwaiche uli chipuba
About Mbola did HR inform the boy about this? or does he want to become an agent as well lol
Chamz on Wed, 13th May 2009 12:12 PM
FBM. Every coach can recommend players using his position. An agent is when you sign papers, get a cut etc.
Georgia Russia on Wed, 13th May 2009 12:17 PM
But singuluma, let down to me,wat was the rush 4.the young man did it becoz of money.what is there to admire about fc haka and tp mazembe.ala fifa wil ban him.typical zed player.
Chamz on Wed, 13th May 2009 12:19 PM
I think our players are not smart and FAZ is not just procative. Zambia has no FIFA agents. You need about US$1 million to become one. However your brother, mother, father or a close relative can become your agent under FIFA rules if you don’t have one. So players do not really need agents as such. Maybe they come from poor families. The other thing is patience and hard work. Singuluma says he is 22, we have World Afcon games why not wait? I have said before SA is not a bad place to market oneself, it is not the best but ir receives a lot of coverage in Africa that is why Chris, Felix, Collins ended up in Europe. So Singuluma was better off at Superspot, chiefs or pirates with an eye for Europe.
Kashman on Wed, 13th May 2009 12:30 PM
@FBM
Thiz Boyz where told to wait until after the CHAN Tournament but jus after the Qualifyin rounds Singuluma,Mbola,William Njobvu even Kasonde Sneaked out of the country for trials to places such as Russia, it was then that Mbola was signed on in Armenia and was Enligible to play @ the CHAN Tournament am sure Mbola would have made a big impact @ CHAN but still he comands a first team place at his club and they are unbeaten in the first 6 matches, Otherwise i conqour with Mabwanna wen he says its not lookin too gud 4 singuluma, i even said it yesterday the end isnt usually nice its another Lota Saga!

all zambian players are fated the same. we should concede that none of them will ever stand out like great kalu. even if we qualify for the world cup and market ourselves, players who will be selected wont last half season. accept it, we have a poor orientation program of the big league and expectations.
FBM on Wed, 13th May 2009 1:15 PM
Gents I have a question. Why are players playing outside Zambia refferred to as Professionals while those playing in Zambia as locals. Are some of the players in Zambia not earning their living thru. playing football as a profession. Can someone educate me on this one
FBM on Wed, 13th May 2009 1:22 PM
You are 100% right and that is the reason why qualifying to the world cup may end up as a dream. Players in Zambia never take their talents seriously and most of them think going to big European clubs is just if one can dribble 2 oponents. Just look at the nicknames of Zambian players and you will wonder ( Gattuso, Carlos, Et’o, Drogba, Zaki, Mido yaba). I respect Nyambe “the machine” that is a good one

Wati bufi chipumbu umwaiche, ni chumbu munshololwa. Mushyebwa uwaile namafi kubuko. Ale papa na sana. He will now become a slave of Katumbi just like Mputu. By the way how was his international certificate issued to Haka in Finland?
FBM on Wed, 13th May 2009 1:36 PM
He thinks because his nickname is Freedom then he can sign 1000 contracts. Maybe he even signed one in Isreal
Gametime12 on Wed, 13th May 2009 1:46 PM
FBM I suppose its the language that is used in sports, if you go by grammar rules then it would not be right. My guess is that it came about because of people like you, who assume that players who play outside Zambia are better players than those who play in the local league. This is so FBM because the word professional can refer to someone who is an expert.
FBM on Wed, 13th May 2009 1:57 PM
So in your mind Clifford Chipalo is better than Chris. Well let the coach us the local players for the 5 remaining games maybe we can qaulify
Gametime12 on Wed, 13th May 2009 2:07 PM
I was just giving the best possible answer to your question. That’s a funny comparison though, I give you that much.
Big Steve from SA on Wed, 13th May 2009 2:15 PM
The reason the two players are playing in the reserves is becuase they do not make the cut. Limited skills will get you limited game time. Dont blame the club, they have won the psl title back to back and have a whole contingent of non-south african players making the grade for first team football. The leagues player of the season last season was from S/sport and guess what? he is Mozambican. Super sport is a good club with good vision.
Big Steve from SA on Wed, 13th May 2009 2:21 PM
A lot of you guys on this blog make it sound like PSL teams are a pick and choose venue for Zambian players, what makes you think that Singalume could just come to SA and there will be a scrumble for his signature by the countries biggest clubs. These clubs have players from all over the world fighting for a deal, Brazilians, Mozambicans, Nigerians you name it, but somehow we think Singalume can just arrive at any of these clubs.
Chamz on Wed, 13th May 2009 2:38 PM
Big Steve, my point is that if they want to play professional football then SA is better than DRC, Angola Egpty. Why do a lot of foreigners in the PLS end up in Europe and not Zambians? Our boys need to work hard. Besides Chivuta is good that is why HR plays him.
Big Steve from SA on Wed, 13th May 2009 3:02 PM
Singalume is turning out to be another daft chap that let getting a golden boot at CHAN get to his head.He is in such a rush to get a professional deal that foresight is not even an issue to him he is thinking money only, nothing else. In all honesty TP Mazembe!!. What next from there. Even Angola which is a richer league has the problem of too few players progressing from there. This Kid was here in SA for a while and must at least have learned a thing or two about pro soccer and pro contracts, can he honestly be that pathetically dumb. Eish will this ever end with our players. has non of them learned after the dennis lota episode.
Seen from afar on Wed, 13th May 2009 3:03 PM
Good one for Collins, he can have a sense of security now. As for the award, I have to say “the magician” has impressed me allot. Can i ask fellow bloggers when the last time Zambia had a playmaker as cool, calm and mature as this? I honestly think HR might miss a trick if he doesn’t include him the full squad. Anyway, all the names are exceptional players and responsible for restoring Zed. As FBM’s point, let’s hope they take their talents a little more seriously now, we have a good coach in HR and he can see that local pros keep raising their game…
SONG on Wed, 13th May 2009 3:08 PM
Noah chivuta is national team material even if he never features regularly for supersport united. The reason for his lack of game time could most likely be due to the stiff competition he faces for his position. There is the Zongo boy and that elias pelembe who are very good attacking midfielders. Besides, all coaches have their own prefered system and player ratings.
Big Steve from SA on Wed, 13th May 2009 3:17 PM
I dont agree with you, we need that special element to stimulate international interest. Remember what Nenani Banda said on this site, we need that Benni Mcarthy player to stimulate interest in other players. When Kalu was out there it stimulated interest for a whole group of other players, dont need to even mention names. We have far better players than Nasif Morris, Arron Mokoena, bernard Parker, and yet they get the deals and we dont. believe you me if Tsunami was getting the goals we would have more zambians out there. It is not about being average, we have talent but it is not unlocked. Even great talents like Mbesuma had they not moved from the ZPL we would have never known we have a record breaking striker in our ranks. The problem is that at the moment we have nothing to stimulate international interest Our standing on the FIFA ranking is pathetic, we only have one player playing first team fotball in a premier league of significance. That again says a lot to potential scouts. We need one special one to do things. In my opinion the only player I think can actually develop into a major star beyound what he is right now is Kalaba. I am keeping my fingers crossed for him to be in Bragga colours next season.
Big Steve from SA on Wed, 13th May 2009 3:24 PM
If Pelembe was a Zambian, were would you place Noah Chivuta? probably as not being good enough for the national team I guess. It is the competion for positions that seperates the boys from the men so if Pelembe and Zongo are playing regulary then it tells us who the men are and who the boys are. Dont blame the competion for his being on the bench, its the competion that makes a player better or seperates the better players from the rest. Dont get me wrong I also think Noah is a good player but at this club he just bumped into really good talent ad one of the most demanding coaches in SA.
gb on Wed, 13th May 2009 3:37 PM
I do not agree with all those saying the PSL league in RSA is better than one in DRC. What proff do you have. A modest side in the name of As vita knocked out the glamour side Sundowns with an array of superstars. No South African team is in the CL this year and you say their league is better than Egypt, DRC etc, My foot. A lot of money is pumped in yes, with corresponding infrastructure, but no improvement in playing standards. I watch their games and their standards can not even match up to that of zambian league.
FBM on Wed, 13th May 2009 3:44 PM

Seen from afar on Wed, 13th May 2009 3:51 PM
We all need to “SUCCESSFULLY protect our interests”. Players in Europe need to protect theirs, that of their countries and that of their clubs MORE. They are vying for few promotions within Europe. In Zambia, at the moment, HR and maybe FAZ can help protect the interest of local players and that of the countries more easily and better. There are only 22-18 places in the national squad, there is Chan, Cosafa aswell. So few opportunities, there is no wrong or right way but there are two ways and staying home should be considered as an alternative to climbing the ladder in Europe.
I hope FAZ can think about this notion and improve players career chances, it stems from having a good coaches like HR, across the board, and improving facilities. We are seeing good things now, but still no big break throughs, we need to see consistency until the day we have a 2nd round WC squad that can jump straight into EPL or which ever Liga Primero, and they can then put their experiences back into the system.
It’s hard to say to young players, don’t go to Europe, don’t make more money. But players might be better off sticking around for the long run. It’s all chances and odds, which is best?
Chamz on Wed, 13th May 2009 3:53 PM
Noah Chivuta and Felix at least are on the radar since they play or national team. Superspot is selling the two start players from Mozambique and Liberia maybe Noah will be a regular. Davies Nkausu was on the bench in the last game. I think these guys joined a winning team, players in form and few injuries, its really hard to bring into such a team. Or they can go back to Wits.
Mabbwana on Wed, 13th May 2009 3:56 PM
I also dont agree with you on this one. I will side with Steve’s view here. Even for Mbesuma, it just required the right move for him and he would still be a household name by now. The leap was too big for him even Ted Dimitru had warned.

Zaki fears World Cup absence
Wed, 13 May 2009 – 15:00
By: Hatem Maher
Wigan Athletic striker Amr Zaki believes an Egypt failure to qualify for the 2010 World Cup will be unfair.
The Pharaohs, who won back-to-back Nations Cup titles in 2006 and 2008, are favorites to finish on top of Group C and reach the South Africa finals.
But a disappointing 1-1 home draw against Zambia in their group stage opener prompted fears about Egypt’s chances of reaching the World Cup for the first time since 1990.
The six-time African champions next face a stern test against North African rivals Algeria on June seventh.
“I know that reaching the World Cup is never easy, but missing out on it will be unfair,” Zaki told Algerian paper Echorouk on Wednesday.
“We are the African champions so we deserve to play in the Mondial.
“First, we have to avoid dropping any more points and should focus on claiming wins at home and on the road.
“It is also very important that we don’t lose against Algeria in our next game.”
Zaki, who is on loan at English side Wigan from Zamalek, will be sidelined for two weeks after hurting his ankle and knee in the 3-1 Premiership defeat to West Bromwich last weekend.
“I’m doing my best to recover as soon as possible and be available for Egypt.”
Egypt are scheduled to face Oman on May 31st in a warm-up for the anticipated clash against Algeria.

You are narrowing it down to one thing only. The achievements of the clubs on the African scene. what we mean when we say it is a better league is that it has far more money, it has far more publicity, it has far more exposure, it is generally run better etc. The quality of play in the PSL has its question marks but everything else in this league runs smooth and believe you me with the quality of coaches coming through that will be sorted out in no time as well. dont limit it to one thing only try to see the broader picture.

Zaki should ask FIFA to give Africa the 7th slot for SA2010 so that Egypt can qualify automatically, otherwise he has a big problem

For all people who are wondering why zambian players don’t make it in the European big leagues.
Its not because of lack of FIFA agents in Zambia, no its because of Zambia national team peformance in the mojar competitions, but that does’nt mean that zambian players are not talented to compete in the big leagues no, but they have to prove themselves by atleast reaching the simi-finals or even the finals of Africa nations cup.
Remember senegal after reaching finals of african nations cup and last 8 at korea japan world cup in 2002. do you know how many senegalese got deals from european big leagues? almost the entire squad, and we got to know the kamara’s, the diouf’s, the sisoko’s etc just through that.
so the team need to advertise its talent through major competetions not the COSAFA, because by only rifting and reaching the final of cosafa, will be only advertising our players to South Africans and Angolans teams. that is how it works the team also has a law to play not only the FIFA agents.
