Zambia’s premier soccer rumour & Gossip column…..It’s simply Kachepa!!!!!!!!!!!
New Chateauroux coach doesn’t rate Katman
International midfielders Felix Katongo and Stophira Sunzu haven’t been featuring in the main team of French ligue 2 Berrichonne Chateauroux in the second half of the campaign because the new coach does not rate. This according to sources close to the Zamfoot Crew in France.
Katongo left many fans wondering why he hasn’t been getting game time at Chateauroux where he is on loan from ligue 1 side Rennes after another impressive display in Zambia’s deserved 1-all draw against the African Champions, Egypt.
Sunzu is on a seasonal loan from FAZ division one north Afrisports and he is yet to make his European club debut.
Billy Mwanza going strong in China
Crowd favourite Billy Mwanza is believed to be going strong in the China where he has signed a one year deal with……
Mwanza made his Chinese debut a fortnight ago in the club’s 1-1 draw. During pre-season, the ex-South African based bumped into another Chipolopolo Boys player James Chamanga who plays for Dalian Haichang.
FAZ won’t use money from ZB to pay HR’s salary
Football Association of Zambia, FAZ has said that they will not use a single penny from the Zambian Breweries deal to pay Herve Renard and his assistant Patrice Beamulle’s salaries.
The Zambian soccer body is expected to announce another ground breaking deal with MTN and Stanbic Bank. The two South African based companies have also agreed to sponsor the Chipolopolo Boys and FAZ is believed to be negotiating for one of them to bankroll the salaries of the two Frenchmen.
Zambian Mining Company KCM is still paying half of HR’s salary. HR is believed to be getting around $15,000 to $18, 000 while Patrice is getting below $10, 000.
The two Frenchmen are slowly understanding and making a name for themselves in one of Africa’s sleeping giants after guiding the ‘Dream Team’ to a bronze at the inaugural CHAN tournament and holding the much fancied Egyptians away in Cairo in the FIFA 2010 World Cup qualifier last Sunday .
Still the same Agents after CHAN Players
While many fans, Soccer administrators and Radio Soccer Pundits bragged that Zambian players stood a better chance of being spotted at the CHAN tournament in Ivory Coast if they impress.
The local guns did just that (put in impressive displays) but all the talk about international scouts and agents taking them to Europe are slowly dying up.
The Zamfoot crew can confirm and reveal that it’s the same Euro agents who have been working on Zambian players in the past 12 months making enquiries on the possibility of taking them to Europe NOT what people claimed or bragged that they will be noticed by NEW agents and Scouts.
TP Mazembe after a Zambian Player
DR Congo glamour side is after one of Zambian’s prized local asset who was part of the CHAN squad. But the player is believed to have opted for a move to Europe though Lubambashi based side’s offer is tempting.
Tsunami is Zambia’s most valuable player according to Experts
Germany based Chipolopolo Boys captain Chris ‘Tsunami’ Katongo is the most Valuable player in the transfer market with his transfer fee pegged between $1m to $2.5 m by the www.imscouting.com which is owned by Isreali born’s England based agent Pini Zahavi.
Tsunami’s young brother, Felix is valued around $500 000 to $1 m while Israeli based youngster is below $250, 000.
Clifford to get R10 000 if helps Thanda avoid relagation
With five games to go, Clifford Mulenga and his Thanda Royal Zulu teammates has been told that if they help beat the club stay up and beat the drop zone in the South African PSL then each player will walk away with R10,000.
Mbesuma gets his final chance to impress
Collins Mbesuma has gotten ‘his wish’ as his mentor and the man who converted him from unknown winger to one of the most thought after striker on the continent took over at Mamelodi Sundowns. Yes, Ted Dumitre will be in-charge of the Brazilian’s last five league fixtures.

Too bad for Felix and Sunzu hope they can prove the coach wrong!!
Uncle Bobs on Thu, 2nd Apr 2009 3:11 PM
The Corporate Affairs Director of Zambian Breweries Chibamba Kanyama stated that they didn’t mind if the money was used to pay for the coach. I am just wondering what value the FAZ statement of saying the money isn’t for the coach has. Is it because KCM are still paying? If an alternative is in place once KCM finally close the valve, then what the fuss making it public that the ZAMBREW money isnt for the coach. Unless i am missing something here.
Meanwhile the Egyptians (Ah Ahly) again bumped into me at the hotel and gestured 2-0 in their favour when they come to Zambia. I retorted with a 3-0 hammering.

Uncle Bobs where are you and how did they know you are Zambian? The Kachepa thing is week is poorly written. The youngster is Isreal is Mayuka? or Zulu? Katongo should move to a bigger club.

This week is poorly written.

Guys. One thing, I always say is that the kit we get from Nike is poor. Remember the big jerseys last week in one of the pictures. Look at the track suits above, that is poor quality. Do we buy from Nike is it a deal ot what because other teams using Nike have better quality kit. And our team must learn to dress, the same. In camp you say some wearing shorts, sneakers, track suits. Have you guys seen how Bafana Bafana look? They are well dressed in camp, training etc.

Well, well, well. Some interesting info.
Felix and Stophira should not despair. Even if they don’t make it they are young and they should learn from their time away. They should not come back as they went. Zambian footballers should strive for continuous self improvement. Pick the brains of these coaches, ask them how you can improve, what your weaknesses are and so on and so forth.
Billy, my man. I am happy for you. Billy will remain one of my favourite players of recent times. The way he marshaled Benni McCarthy at Newlands – excellent. I remember after the game Billy, Rainford and some of the other players cam to the Pig and Swizzle Pub in Rondebosch, Cape Town. I remember him telling me about what was going on on the pitch with Benni and the nonsense Benni was saying to him. Good luck Billy.
On to the money issue. It seems like there is a lot of money about to be pumped into our football. Hmmm, I know Zambians very well. Very soon all sorts of sticky fingers are going to start popping up from nowhere. Before you know it the money will be in private pockets. You will soon here that Kalu has bought this, Simata has built this, Ba Pastor is now driving this… Whoever is dealing with this money should be highly transparent and credible. The handler of these funds should be subjected to the most rigorous scrutiny and where there are doubts they should be brought to book – harshly! There should be no Kalusha side stepping of the law. (Kalusha, from dribbling opposition players to now dribbling the law, LOL) Every Ngwe must be accounted for, no rounding off of figures. Big Brother is watching you.
On the issue of scouting. I disagree strongly with Zamfoot. I think that no one can deny the benefits of going and doing well at these tournaments. Doing well at a tournament is not a guarantee that on the next day you will be on a flight to Europe. It helps in exposure. Give it time. Do well consistently and things will fall into place. These agent stats are not instant. It takes more than a handful of games but you can’t deny that a handful of good games will help get the ball rolling for serious interest. You need a good season.
As for Clifford and Mbesuma, all I can say is all the best.

Great pictures Zamfoot!
It’s no surprise that the Berri coach doesn’t rate the two.. We see that Chris is one player who has gone up and up, unfortunetly not Felix and not Mbesuma, i think Zambian players abroad really need their coaches to believe in them…

Dumitru confirms Mbesuma’s injury
Posted: 2009-04-02 14:33
Mamelodi Sundowns caretaker coach Ted Dumitru says reports in Zambia that Collins Mbesuma was dropped from the national team due to bad behaviour are rubbish.
“I want to correct the media reports that claim Mbesuma was dropped by Zambia for bad behaviour. This is not true as Collins is still nursing knee injury which has also ruled him out of our game CAF Confederations Cup game against AS Vacoas Phoenix of Mauritius on Sunday.
“Our preparations for the CAF fixture are going well, except that we have been affected by the late arrival of our players (Surprise Moriri, Katlego Mphela, Siboniso Gaxa, Matthew Booth and Calvin Marlin) that were on national team duty, however I am expecting the full team for this afternoon’s training session.”
The Brazilians take a 3-0 lead into the continental competition at Pilditch Stadium in Pretoria on Sunday.
Dumitru says the way players are performing at training he is likely to have a headache in choosing his team to play against the visiting Mauritians.

Felix must be one misunderstood cat at Berri, they must think he is a selfish individual player. That is not true, he is arguably our best player and one of the best in Africa, people are really missing out if he is not played.

Mabbwana sources close to me say tonfwa umwaiche too much ama disco, just look at his hair, last time. Felix will never be like his brother, but the problem is that Chris protects him instead of uku mweba ifi shinka
chamwe kaira on Thu, 2nd Apr 2009 5:00 PM
Jomo Sono, I remember when he sent Felix home from Jomo Cosmos back to Green Buffaloes said Felix was not well behaved. He said Chris was so well behaved and very professional in his conduct, no wonder is is captain and no wonder the army keeps promoting him. Jomo said Chris was very different from his brother. Felix must think about the future, he must make money now.

@chamwe kaira
I hav noticed the same the quality of our kit is realy bad, it’s as if the kit is fake seriously FAZ need to improve. Anyway i thought Puma was cheaper than Nike if Faz can’t afford the full nike kit then they might as well get the Puma kit.
chamwe kaira on Thu, 2nd Apr 2009 5:44 PM
But, I think this is the story Zamfoot must follow up. If we have a deal with Nike, why is that say a team like Nigeria has a better kit? Our kit has always been poor and out team looks rag tag. I remember the time our team came to Namibia, about six years ago with some Dutch coach-I cant remember his name, my Angolans friends were laughing at me saying the jerseys were faded. On top of that Lota, Davies Phiri and the rest of the guys were washing the jerseys with their hands at Safari Hotel, my friend in Australia can agree with this. He saw the players because him and his brother went to see Laughter Chilembi, whom they knew from Chingola.
Matafwali on Thu, 2nd Apr 2009 5:54 PM
I don’t see how they can prove the coach wrong if he doesn’t give them the opportunity. As mentioned by some bloggers, players need a coach to believe in them and give them the necessary patience. Now, if this is related to disciplinary reasons for Felix, that is another story. Otherwise, this is were HR and Kalu need to exert whatever influence they may have. Please
According to BBC online, a Tanzanian player who impressed at CHAN has been given a two-week trial at West Ham. Question are, did he put on that good a show compared to our players or does his agent have the right connections, or does he have the attributes West Ham are looking for?
Matafwali on Thu, 2nd Apr 2009 6:58 PM
This makes for sad reading Chamwe. It is unbelievable that a national team that has consistently been to the Nations Cup could have no meaningful sponsorship. I think with the new found sponsorship, Kalu’s executive must really put these resources to good use. Prepare the team adequately and ensure qualification to the World Cup. Qualification will bring FAZ the much needed revenue and the notoriety to negotiate sponsorship deals. There really is no excuse for what you describe above.
tn on Thu, 2nd Apr 2009 7:49 PM
i admit the design of the Zambia jersey is not up to par….i have never liked Nike in terms of football…they are relatively novice in football matters being an American company. The question is whether this deal is profitable from sponsor/marketing perspective, if it is, then Zambia can build from here. With the performance of the team we can garner better sponsorship deals. The traditional copper jersey and black shorts and black socks is good, but even the top is a real bright orange rather than the meatllic or shimmering look texture of copper…our orange is that of Ivory Coast which has orange on its flag, our all green kit can pass for a Nigerian kit or a libyan uniform(kit). sometimes when i see zambia in the all green i think i am watching the Nigerians which has traditionally worn all green…the all white was fine maybe when playing in really hot conditions(because it white does not absorb heat), but the designer could have added some colours or trims of the colours of the Zambian flag instaed of just plain white. I think this is the job of Faz..they have to go into these fine details because these sponsorship deals must be mutually beneficial…Zambian football is brand so it needs a kit to showcase its uniqueness..It cannot be a Nigerian lookalike kit , Libyan lookalike kit, but it must be uniquely Zambian from a marketing perspective as well as for the fans.
tn on Thu, 2nd Apr 2009 7:52 PM
sorry i meant metallic look of copper…e.g look at the Marseille jersey as worn by the Algerian skipper Ziani which Zamfoot has on here…that is the look of copper..that is Adidas. Not dull orange but the color of copper

Do Faz hav a contract with Nike or something? they need to get addidas or Puma cos the new Nike kits are realy ugly even the new ManU kit is not all that impresive.

Ba Chamwe,
I work and stay in Tanzania. I was at the hotel and walked up to them to tease them (jokingly of course otherwise they would strangle me, funny enough they were very friendly).
Incase any of you happens to be in Tanzania anytime my contact number is +255784500503 so that we can catch some cold or warm (here even warm is good) beers by the beach.
Uncle Bobs on Fri, 3rd Apr 2009 6:57 AM
Ba Chamwe, now i catch the drift. Ala ichisungu chaishile no bwato. I am the one that bumped into them and not vice-versa. Pa Cbelt ulukonena twakulile nalo and we now utilise it for networking.
Uncle Bobs on Fri, 3rd Apr 2009 9:40 AM
Guys,
Let’s take the interactions here to reality. Once we work as one, we could even sponsor the National Team on a long term basis. Like we could promise each player minimum of K20m each if they qualify and start working raising the minimum now through an account we could open. We could style this around the CHIPOLOPOLO and sell the concept to one of the Banks in Zambia that could style a product around the concept for their deposit mobilisation.
You see now i am enjoying all this. Ba Vincent has just called me and is on his way here. Twanwa again ku beach-Ba Spaks osaulula ati i don’t even drink moba (but indashita ubwalwabwena!!!!!). My family hasn’t joined me from Zambia, so even accomodation is free for any of you visiting for now. Ba Vincent if you don’t mind, accomodation is on the house!!!

I think Billy made a wrong move, soccerwise coz,the league in China is not known or maybe it is not monitored, hence making it hard for him to get a place in our Zambian Team.Anyway, its all about ambition, coz if he is as ambitious to play for Zambia as Becks is to play for England,he should have continued with Power Dynamos until he gets noticed again on the international scene.Felix is a good player,Im sure he has a chance to prove that coach wrong by doing so well in training or even in a reserve side. The Administrators will question the coach when they see him shine in the reseve & yet he doesnt get a nod in the main team.Mbesuma should grow up,or else,he will return & continue drinking chibuku in mikomfwa.

Zambia’s jerseys should be improved. they are not so nice as if its not the same nike that makes manchester utd jerseys. some jerseys are too big for the players, and make variety, make some long sleeved jerseys too. I like the shots that zambia wore again Egypt.
