According to a Zambianfootballnet source in France, Singuluma will join Marseille in the summer.
And in an exclusive interview with Zamfoot crew, the man known to his teammates as ‘Mandada’ comfirmed the news but did not reveal the club.
“I have signed for a French team and I will be leaving next week for medicals but I won’t tell you the name of the team,” the right footed 22 year revealed.
It is believed the French ligue 1 side were impressed by Singuluma’s goal scoring touch and they hope to partner him with Senegalese striker Mamadou Niang.
I’OM also have Ivorian striker Bakary Kone and Modeste M’bami of Cameroon on their books.

All the best Freedom, go show them and make Zambia proud.

He must learn from Felix and Mbesuma, its not like he will jump in the first team. He will sit on the bench or play in the reserves, he must work hard. I hope HR will give him sound advice.
Sibs on Wed, 1st Apr 2009 11:16 AM
Great news. All the best to Freedom though he will need to work hard cos he is signed for a big team in Europe not just France. French connection??

Well, well, well. things are getting lekker and lekker for Zambian ffotball. This is very good news. This is what we want to see from the chipolopolo, more exposure in europe and therefore improved performance for the national team. Good luck Given.

Great news, this is what we need to hear. Now you are talking proper teams. Do you guys now realise the importance of doing well at these so called “small tournaments” like CHAN. I am sure HR gets calls from back home asking him about Zambian talent and if we continue to do well we may see him use his connections to export more players to France and Europe. Ukutekanya, kusuma. Ba Muyuka or his advisors where in such a rush…I think with patience Mayuka could have clinched such a deal. Anyways, he can use Israel as a stepping stone to Europe. Given, don’t follow Mbesuma tactics. Be disciplined and fight for a position. That is Europe not CHAN so up your game hard core. If you drink, I would suggest you stop and focus on bulking up and improving your physique and stamina. We want to hear good reports. I am so excited, I feel like it is me going. FAITH IS LIKE A RAINDROP THAT KNOWS A RIVER AND DREAMS OF AN OCEAN. Work twice as hard as everyone around you, with the mixture of FAITH and HARDWORK you will be in the premiership in three years time.

If only our players had the displine and figting spirit of Chris Katongo, Kalu, Charlie. Why are our players failing to break into teams these days when Kalu, Charlie, Johnstone, Lucky, Stone and other played in Europe for years. I think players lack displine and long term forsight. Why should young Mayuka or was it warrious refuse to have him sign up for the reserves at FC Porto?
Kolokombwa on Wed, 1st Apr 2009 11:43 AM
Zamfoot, i hope this not an Aril fool’s day joke. I wouldnt find it funny !
If its true, then we are on the right track. We need players in teams that matter. If Singuluma succeeds, others will definitely follow. Once our FIFA rankings improve ( which they should do ) we will be a very attractive prospect for freindlies.

Armed Gunman on Wed, 1st Apr 2009 11:48 AM
Good news indeed. Patience pays. So does listening to good advice. These are the rewards of playing in a CHAN tournament, overlooked by many. I am sure those boys who, after the qualifiers, abandoned the team CHAN bound squad for trials elsewhere should be full of envy and regret. Let each one learn what patience can do.OM is a big club and as such it will require discipline and extra hard work from our boy. All the best!

if this is really true then im happy for the lad.It will also prove to other players not rush to RSA just to be called pros.Though mbola’s team is a champion is it league he should have waited a little longer and peharps he could have clinched a better deal.I only wish him the best.He must not emulate mbesuma but learn from his mistakes. This was the team LITANA should have joined in 1994 but lack of proper managedment cost him.

It seems to be an unbelievable move, but perhaps he will be loaned out to a smaller club like Kalaba. Either way, I hope Given works hard and makes a name for himself and Zambia. We should switch to watching French Ligue instead of EPL.

That is really good for Given. I think Andrew Tembo played for OM before joining Odense in Denmark. He should go and grow the legacy although i can’t remember if Tembo left a name for himself there. This can either be stepping stone for him or the club where he can reach his full potential as a player and retire with a chest full of medals. OM is a good club. If he breaks into the first team (the secret by the way is to score on your debut or the first two games you get a chance to play, that’s what helped C. Katongo at Brondby and Zaki at Wigan) he will be playing champions league football with top class players in the best club competition in the world. I think that should be every Zambian player’s dream and the sky is the limit for you Given. Looking forward to watching you banging goals for Olympic Marseille next season.

Only Sound Advice i would give Given is if ur benched for more than 5 games…please ask to be moved or loaned out to a diferent club
dont just sit there and say i am waiting for the right time too break into first the first team…never happens like that
thats how every player that goes to a new team…earn themselves first team

are not playing him at all..

Saks if Clifford was to sign for a European team I would feel OK, moving from club to club within SA would not him good. I know Clifford is a good player but what I do not understand is the way he has been changing. Potential clubs wanting to sign him may start to wonder

Bourne the fact that this club will sign Given without attending trails implies that they will use him or rather give him a chance, the rest will be up to Given. I am conviced he will make it
They moved in so quickly because he can become expensive if scores another hattrick for us. I am happy for the boy cause he would have ended up in Finland

Kapombwa Ni zi. Zambia will always be considered minows as long as we don’t make it to World Cup. Look at teams like Togo, Angola and even Senegal their stature was built just by appearing at the World Cup once.
Zambia has actually done better than all the above teams in African football. We have ended up second best in Africa twice ,about 3 times coming third ,we have qualified to the Olympics several times. Our U-20′s have been to the World Cup twice.
One of our clubs have won an African Cup Championship before. Whiles teams like Togo have many times failed to make it even for the Africa Cup. But since the have tested World Cup action the will for a long time be called a big team in Africa.
Anyway thats my opinion.
