Premier League Preview: Labour Day matches

KCM/FAZ Premier League leaders Zanaco will host Roan United at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka in a Week 8 matches to be played on Friday (Labour Day).

And second placed, Green Buffaloes will away on the Copperbelt to face Aggrey Chiyangi’s Chambishi.

Struggling Power Dynamos will await the visit of ZAF side Young Arrows. In Kabwe, Warriors will host Lusaka Dynamos while Forest Rangers travel to the Sugar town of Mazabuka with a date with Nakambala Leopards.

RoPS’ Musonda scores on his European debut

Former Under-23 and Afrisports striker Christopher ‘Janker’ Musonda scored on his European debut in  RoPS’ opening fixture of the Finnish top flight league (Veikkausliiga) though his club lost 4-1 to third placed FC Lahti.

Musonda together with another new acquisation from Afrisports fc Godfrey Chibanga started the match alongside compatriots, Whiteson Simwanza, Chanda Mwaba, Chileshe Chibwe, Zeddy Sailiet and defender Stephen Kunda. Watch Musonda’s goal by clicking here. Read more…

Njobvu omitted from HR’s 25 man squad for Rwanda, Algeria double header

CHAN 2009 star and on loan Zesco United midfielder William Njobvu has been ‘omitted’ from a 25 man squad list released by FAZ on Wednesday. Angola based Elijah Tana is also another high profile name to have been left out of the squad which is set to regroup next month in South Africa ahead of the FIFA 2010 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Algeria at Chililabombwe’s Konkola Stadium on June 6 and June 21 respectively.

French-born trainer Herve Renard has recalled ‘Big three’ trio of Collins Mbesuma, James Chamanga and Isaac Chansa for the crunch encounters. Renard has maintained 17 players except for Njobvu who travelled to Egypt last month. Read more…
