With less than four hours left before the Chipolopolo Boys take on the Pharaohs in Cairo in the opening fixture of the second round of FIFA 2010 World Cup, Herve Renard has named his starting line-up for tonight’s encounter with Kickoff at 19:30 hours Zambian time.
According to Zambianfootball.net’s contact in Egypt, Renard has given starting berth to Noah Chivuta, Misheck Lungu and Emmanuel Mbola.

The Zamfoot crew gives their verdict on HR’s selection
Formation:
You can call 4-5-1 or 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 formation, it’s the same thing and the key point is a five man midfield.
Zambia is the away team and against back to back African Champions, the formation is ok and it’s sign of respect for the opponents.
Departments:
The defence is a source of worry and maybe Chintu Kampamba could have started in place of Emmanuel Mbola and thus shifting Nyambe to left back OR move Misheck Lungu in the holding midfield role to partner Francis Kasonde and again Nyambe goes to right back now.
All in all, if Mbola stays calm and plays to his potential and keeps his temperament then we might be witnessing the revelation of the new ‘African Roberto Carlos.’
The partnership of Nyambe and Dennis Banda is fine. Both players know each from their under-20 days. Banda’s elegant and calmness on the ball will compliment the tough tackling approach of Nyambe.
Lungu’s experience will be vital to his young members of the back four.
The Egyptians like to put the ball on the ground and play possession football and there’s no need to worry in terms of aerial threat.
Verdict- 7/10 Not everyone’s choice but a fair selection from the Frenchman. Three (Mbola, Dennis Banda and Nyambe) players could started even Tana and Hichani Himonde were available for selection.
We would rather see Mbola make a mistake than the non-improving and ageing Joseph Musonda who will be turning 32 this year.
Midfield: A five man midfielder with three attacking players; Chris, Kalaba and Felix. It looks like it’s Barcelona line up. Francis Kasonde will be the key man in the engine room. Noah Chivuta got the nod ahead of William Njobvu because of his set piece deliverly though Misheck Lungu could have been our prefered for the duo if the Hungary based player is match fit.
Verdict:8.5- The key point will be to keep possesion and recover in time to seal open gaps. If the fatanstic three; Kalaba, Felix and Chris will approach it that way then Zambia will fustrate the Eyptians and who knows sneak in a goal on the break or a set piece.
Striker: Jacob Mulenga over Given Singuluma. Renard gave a hint when he dropped Mbesuma and he is right. Jacob is strong and pacy and he is the ideal striker for this thought of game though he needs to have an eye for goal.
Verdict-9/10 with 10 minutes to go and Zambia is a goal down but mounting pressure then bring on Singuluma to do what he does best-score a goal.
