I liked Renard's passion. He really was screaming at the referee and barking instructions to the players. However, he just can't seem to get the midfield to tick. His gamble of taking off both strikers almost cost us the game. Granted the ref had a hand in that possibility, but it was a gamble none the less. Henry Banda and Sakuwaha were continually changing sides, but they rarely ran at the defenders if at all. They were more pedestrian. They operated like they were central midfielders as opposed to wingers, holding on to the ball too long. The other thing I observed was that our players tend to concentrate play on one side, overloading the side where the ball is. At one point they were trying to run the ball through a whole host of Tanzanian players who were packed on the right side of the field and no one thought of changing the point of attack to the other side. The few times the ball was passed across the field, it was over or under hit. Lwipa, I thought did very well when he had the ball, unfortunately he had to go deep to collect the ball or end up on the wing, leaving Singuluma with no support. Singuluma showed that he clearly has a knack for goals, but he needs good service. The young right-back, I believe Chisenga is his name was a revelation.

Overall, this was a better performance compared to the Senegal game. But we have to start scoring again.

The issue of a stadiun in Zambia makes my blood boil. I agree with FIFA and Baba, maybe thats why CAF does not even respect us because leaders in Zambia have no respect for its own people. I was amazed to see Rwanda (formerly war-torn country with no speakable natural resources compared to Zambia) host the CAF U-20 tournament. Rwanda even has stadia and Zambia nothing. For sure this country has been mismanaged and thats why foreigners do not respect Zambia because its own leaders have no respect for its people. If the govt had respect for its people, a lot of infrustructure including stadia would have been put in place. HIV infected politicians are flown abroad for medication at the expense of national development, and while its own people die in poor hospitals. Anyway I end here.

Excellent observation Mr FIFA, you picked an excellent name if it is to speak for your way of thinking as evidenced in the two contributions above: FIFA-the father of football. Especially if you cant show support for your own people who want to get there, impossible to get any love.

I agree with you FIFA and you speak as a futurist, we have to catch up with the rest of the world in development of infrastructure for our sports men and women at that very cost it comes with. In fact I absolutely don’t understand why the government has taken so long with the independence stadium. Mulongoti was talking of asking the Chinese in Ndola to indepence stadium; thats one story that tells you that independence might be very far away.

And then since there is the senior Africa Cup which takes in all those 16 teams, this tournament will better remain with eight teams. Well, the facts might be different, as Justice suggests-then members of CAF will do well to lobby to maintain an eight team tournament. Yes the tournament is very exciting especially that Zambia will play the semi finals, but nice, soon it will come to an end.
An Eight team local leagues tournament is an incentive for the best competition among the local leagues.

Justice Kafusha The tournament is not even over and they are already concluding. The politics at caf is serious lets ,lets just say from group b their preffered countries were Ivory coast and senegal. For Zambia to even top the group is no good for them.Lets work hard and develop our sporting faciliites in ZED.As a COUNTRY and Zambia being a badly mismanaged country,a country run by cadres , despite it being rich, very few foreigners would want to associate themselves with it.Fair play does not mean ideal blowing
