the match is over, but i still feel that Beilefeld should have carried the day and i think Chris had a very good game despite the missed chances he had.
Jaggari on Fri, 6th Feb 2009 11:30 PM
Good stuff, Zamfoot. You’re the best! Sounds like Chris was all over the pitch. If only Zambia had more players like him.
I remember Dominic Yobe’s dad, Donewell. Ex-GBFC and briefly capped in ’73 by Buselic. He was always dapperly dressed at Independence Stadium when he became a club official.

I watched the game live my thanks goes out to zamfoot for letting us watch our beloved son Chris Katongo. After watiching my man Chris in this game most of us who have been just was just hearing and reading LT have come to a conclusion that Zambia has a lot of untapped talent out there. If only the Zambia national coach with who ever is responsible to selecting the players of national team can watch most of these guys in europe and other parts of the world in action, I don’t see why not we can’t come up with the better team that can stand african so called big teams. Big up to zamfoot. I wanna watch the Zambian guys in Finland who we just read about and yet hasn’t represent us in the national colors. Zamfoot make sure HR and his crew watch these guys because Kalu and crew his gang can’t afford fly them to watch our boys play.
Ba Kitwe on Fri, 6th Feb 2009 11:41 PM
I wanna watch Don Yobe and his brother because these guys have come a long way just to be watching other fellow Zambians online which I find not to be fair. Zamfoot here in Boston, MA we love our Zambian footballers. We wanna know what Benard Makufi is up to and why Charles Musonda can’t let his sons don the Zambian colors….and stuff like that. Zamfoot epashili pakuleka bane keep on infrming us we are proud of you…Zambia chipolopolo

For the first time in the history of Zambian football we are now able to follow the perfomance of our players abroad live.A million thanx to the Zamfoot crew for your efforts to take our football to another level. With this site in place a sharp Football Association can partner with it to monitor the progress of players & also market local lads to stronger leagues abroad.
Dinamo on Sat, 7th Feb 2009 12:52 PM
All the best to Mbola & Chisamba. Our league is no longer strong b’coz of various factors that include poor infrastructure, untrained coaches, lack of finances etc.We therefore need as many players as possible to join better leagues overseas where they can be natured into pro players. This will help us maintain a strong pool of players for the national side even as we try to rebuild our local league
Best, RSA on Sun, 8th Feb 2009 10:36 AM
Georgia Russia, can you tell us how the Armenian league is, I mean the structure, leading club and players and does any team participate in Champions league?
Justice Kafusha on Sun, 8th Feb 2009 2:01 PM
@Best, RSA
I do not know much about the Armenian league, but from th einformation i have covered so far, the league can ba as strong as that of countries like Denmark, Sweden, Norway etc. Please read below
Founded in 1992, Pyunik (Armenian for “Phoenix”) has won a record 10 Armenian Championships, along with 3 Armenian Cups, and 5 Armenian Supercups. The club is considered in Armenia, as one of the most popular Armenian football clubs since the establishment of the Armenian Premier League in 1992.
Pyunik’s new era began in 2001, when wealthy Armenian businessman Ruben Hayrapetyan bought the club and brought star players such as Artavazd Karamyan and Arman Karamyan from other Armenian clubs. FC Pyunik was not satisfied with what it already had, and improved the team more by bringing some foreign managers and players from Mali, Cameroon, Argentina and later from Romania. These improvements returned quick results, and Pyunik won the Armenian title the same year and the Armenian Cup in 2002. Later, for the first time in independent Armenian club history an Armenian club advanced to the second round in the Champions League.
The club won the Armenian Premier League title seven times in a row. In the 2007 season Pyunik’s strategy changed; the club resigned from its foreign players’ services and depended on its own academy’s products. However, Pyunik was still in the title hunt because it included seven Armenian national team players, such as Sargis Hovsepyan, Robert Arzumanyan, Levon Pachajyan, Karen Dokhoyan. In 2007 season Pyunik proved its worth by winning another title.
Season Competition Round Club Score

Zidan handed Egypt recall
Zidan returns for Egypt for the first time in eight months
Germany-based striker Mohamed Zidan has been called to the Egyptian national team for the first time in eight months.
The Borussia Dortmund has not been invited since June when he was accused of faking injury to miss the first phase of World Cup qualifiers.
The 27-year-old has been included in a 23-man squad for a friendly against Ghana in Cairo on Wednesday. There are only 4 players players from Europe
The game against the Black Stars serves as a final warm-up before Egypt begin the last phase of the African qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
While our rivals will be playing warm up games, The President of FAZ, his vice and General Sectary are busy attending to issues that are more important according to their commonsenses. This put together with the number of players that are not featuring at their clubs is a source of worry. The big question is why do we enter football competations?
Uncle Bobs on Mon, 9th Feb 2009 7:55 AM
Ba Kitwe,
Bernard Makufi i heard from Ichilata has retired due to his nagging Amakufi (knee injury/ies)!!! It’s not for Charles Musonda to give permission to his children to play for Zambia but for FAZ to make overtures (regardless of the extent of their relationship). I was informed by one top ranking FAZ official recently that Lamisha the eldest had opted for education above soccer (ZAMFOOT please do find out).

Thanks justice Kafusha for the info.
Magic on Mon, 9th Feb 2009 1:22 PM
@Kojo umwina n’gumbo I second that! Keep it up.
Dinamo on Mon, 9th Feb 2009 1:53 PM
Thanx Justice for the info atleast I can see that lad has joined a determined club.
Mabbwana on Mon, 9th Feb 2009 2:11 PM
If Mbola keeps his game on a high, am sure he will sign for an even bigger club in Europe. Its obvious, from the info above that the boy will soon test champions li football and scouts will easily spot him as long as he performs.
All the best to the young man.
Sibs. on Mon, 9th Feb 2009 2:19 PM
Mabbwana it seems this Mbola boy is good.Do you know how is his body build up & height.I have never watched him play but from what i heard so far from the papers & HR’s comments the boy is good.
Mabbwana on Mon, 9th Feb 2009 2:27 PM
Sibs, thats one thing that may work against Mbola. Like we have come to expect of most Zambian players, Mbola has quite a small stature and his body build is not imposing.
But from the few games I have watched him play, he is tactically aware and quite stubborn in defence. I think if he continues on the same track and is well groomed, he will go places.
Sibs. on Mon, 9th Feb 2009 2:50 PM
Cheers Mabbwana.
Maybe with exponsure & training in Europe he might improve his physical stature. The some guys who nga tapa uku lya bwino & staying bwino the grow big(no disrespect to Mbola).I hope he has that potential.Remember when Kalu went to Cercle Brugge in Belgium he was quite small. But with time he built up.
Mabbwana on Mon, 9th Feb 2009 2:54 PM
Yeh, lets hop it goes that way for the young man.
Spaks on Mon, 9th Feb 2009 3:52 PM
Sibs, if people like happy Sichikolo,Douglas ‘shine’ Mwamba who is now the coach at K-stars made an impact on Zambian soccer i have no doubt Emmanuel Mbola can do it, was it not so long ago that Rainford was told he is too small to play in the National team???/
nkhonjera mudivu elias on Wed, 25th Mar 2009 11:43 AM
I believe that this is zambias biggest chance for us to go to the world cup.I wouldnt say it will be automatic for us to qualify, only i we make sure our defence is strong enough to contain the egypians.A very good e.g is that of cameroon we just allowed them to score many goals so I would encourage the team that you can do it and as a christian nation we pray about it.
nkhonjera mudivu elias on Fri, 17th Apr 2009 9:47 AM
its nice that zambia drew against egypt and I would really want to it perform more miracles as never happend before
