HR set to axe Hichipuka from Taifa Stars clash?

Tanzania was awarded a bogus penalty in the 85th minute and they coveted it. Against all odds Dennis Banda voleyed in the ball past the helpless Tanzanian goalkeeper.

Senegal have also qualified to the last four.

Chipolopolo Boys trainer Heve Renard is set to ommit stand in captain Kebby Hachipuka from tonight’s mouth-watering clasg against group B dark-horses and fast improving Tanzania at the ongoing CHAN 2009 tourney.

Hachipuka who has captained the Chipolopolo Boys in their first two games has been below and looks set to pave way for Francis ‘Mr Reliable’ Kasonde in the engine room. Read more…

Chris Katongo scores for Bielefeld

Chris ‘Tsunami’ Katongo broke his long goal-less drought on Friday, equalizing in the 43rd minute for Ariminia Bielefeld as they held on for a 1-1 draw away to FC Koln.

HR: There’s a complex against West African teams

COACH Herve Renard says Zambia played badly against Senegal because they did not have the mental strength to face the West Africans.

He observed that Zambia feared Senegal and gave them too much respect, and could have lost the match. The match ended 0-0.

“I am only 10 months in Zambia but I think there is a complex against West African teams. We were afraid to play. But I am not disappointed because we didn’t get any chance to score apart from two set-pieces,” Renard said. Read more…
