Singuluma magic propels Zambia

Zambia 3-0 Djibouti

Zambia thrashed group B whipping boys Djibouti 3-0 courtesy of first half strikes from Zanaco striker Given Singuluma (brace) and Jonas Sakuwaha of Zesco United.

The 22 year old netted two goals in the 25th and 38th minutes, while  Sakuwaha scored the third a minute before half-time.

The Chipolopolo failed, however, to build on their lead in the second half against a Djibouti side who conceded 30 goals in 2010 World Cup qualifiers.

Singuluma lived up to expectations as Zambia’s pre-tournament dangerman as his scored his third and fourth goals in his last three international matches including his match winning strikes in both legs against Angola in the CHAN qualifier.

Singuluma is a natural goal-poacher. After being in and out of the Chipolopolo set up….it looks like the 22 year is finally a finished product.

Meanwhile Zambia’s group B opponets, Sudan and Kenya played to a goalless stalemate. With this win Herve Renard’s charges will be looking forward to Friday’s encounter against Kenya before engaging Burundi on Sunday. And two days later, the local guns will face Sudan in the last group match.

This is good 4 the boys, but knowing zed football, they will relax then get beaten

Congratulations guys. Good work and keep it going.

    Thanks Zamfoot.

Guys, I feel good about Zambia’s chances. I am confident they will lift this trophy. I also feel they have as good a chance as any team to lift the CHAN. Take away the professional players and I believe you can throw the rankings of all the teams out of the window. Go Chipolopolo. You can and you will do it!

Good starting but poor finishing is the virus with zambia & its players, with a few praises the boys become big headed & they lose it,zambia is not guranteed a place in the semis, they have just beaten the weakest team in the tournament, real competition is yet to come,3-0 against that team was not enough, lets wait & see,if zambia is not careful thats the only team they will beat.

    3-0 OR 1-0 A WIN IS A WIN

Kenya drew with sudan 0-0,so we now stand a better chance of qualifying to the semis.kenya had an upper hand in the game but failed to get the desired results.

Congrats to the boys though i would be cautious on saying Given is the best thing that has happened to our soccer the lad has scored goals against smaller sides.Lets see what hen can do in the World Qualiifiers before we can heap lots of praise. But so far hes done well.
