Zambia national local soccer side this morning lost 1-0 in a training practice match against DR Congo side TP Mazembe in a dull match played at Lusaka’s Barclays Sports Complex.
Chipolopolo boys coach Herve Renard made only one change (Francis Kasonde for the injured Hichani Himonde) from the side which beat Angola a fortnight. The local guns failed to unzip a highly composed Congolese defence despite enjoying a lot possession in the first half hour.

In second half, the tempo of match slowed after a the Frenchman tinkered and brought on his ‘reserve’ players and the highly rated Congolese took advantage and scored from a well engineered counter-attack.
The Lubumbashi based side featured one-time capped Zambian international and Zanaco striker Mathews ‘Papa’ Kamwashi but the much-talked about danger man Tresor Mputu did not play.
Zambia leaves for Uganda tomorrow and Renard is expected to name his final 18 later today. Green Buffaloes goalkeeper Davy Kaumbwa will fly straight from South Africa where he was attending trials and will act as cover to first choice Jacob Banda.

No big deal this can happen. We have in the past seen our National Team draw with local clubs, but have perfromed at the big tournments
Lads I have been thinking about an idea for sometime now. My idea is the formation of the East, Central and South African Cup, that can be played at the sametime as the European cup. This tournment can include teams like Zambia, SA, DR Congo, Rwanda, Malawi, Angola as automatic qualifers while the rest like Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Mozambique, Congo Brazv. Kenya etc will have to battle for the rest of the 4 places to qualify. This could be a big championship in our region

Mr. Facts Kola is in the team. Bane lets us wait and see, these are x-mas times. Do you think any local palyer will risk his leg Vs TP Mazembe when he fully knows there is a better platform coming. Hold your fire gents. We should support our team, b it in defeat, draw and not only when we win

tp is a good side and renard is not a good coach who can read a game thats the only difference….our coach doesnt think like vincete del bosque or capello better still sir ferguson..

Dont lose hope people it was just a friendly game. Abena papa their still playing ka,this guy was playing for our team kabwe warriors in 98 then switched to zanaco ,got zambian citizenship (wonder how) ,got capped once for zambia against south africa in 98 ,i believe he scored in that 1-1 draw,sneeked out of zambia in 99 ,went for trials in belgium but suprising he was featuring for zaire aka congo national team.i wish FAZ should have reported this guy to FIFA.our immigration is porous every jim and jack can easily obtain zambian citizenship , its sad. just wish the lads all the best and i wish yall had a wonderful xmax.happy new year people.

True bane, ka friendly shouldn’t demoralise us. But again we shouldn’t take it for granted with losing such games. Now the government Hon Chipungu Sports Minister, says ubuteko can’t afford to pay Renard because he’s getting too much money. The question i will ask is whether we are an island as other countries without the resources that we have pay even more. Those that pay peanuts get monkeys. I totally disagree that the government can’t afford. Why not just have one Minsiter of Agric. and one PS and Deputy Minister in those Ministers that have them in twos! From the savings, we’ll be able to pay the coach handsomely but hold him accountable for his performances. Sorry for being perhaps myopic with my example, but just take it as a figure of speechl!

Sorry to say but even from the begining i said it Renard was a joke and he still is a joke.He must not even blame FAZ for choosing players for him.He knew he had to prepare the boys then why did he go on holiday.This leaves me with a question,if Renard is saying he is not happy with the selection of players,what about his assistant who could not tell that the selection was bad,is he really worth it.I believe these people are just here to make money.Am sure FAZ will learn to advertise for the coarching job next time

friendlies determine the compactibility of our squad. Unfortunately we lost the training game to a foriegn club which was composed of a collection of players from other countries including one of our own so it helps us plan and see our weak points. We have only one chance to prepare our lads and qualify for AFCON & World Cup 2010. FAZ has shown that its ready to take us there, if players are not tested on the big scene as new entrants when will we improve, give the new commers a chance to shine afterall there eager to make a name hence will show more commitment.

Our national team is being coached by FAZ and nopt Renard, so dont blame him as he is also a pappet.
