Young Guns beat Junior Tswanas

December 4, 2008

Zambia U-20 opened their SADC zone 6 games with a 3-1 victory over Botswana U-20.

This comes in the wake of their disappointing Cosafa U-20 outing after the junior Chipolopolo failed to progress to the knock out phase of that competition.

The junior Chipolopolo left it late to seal the victory after a William Chibale error allowed the Tswanas to equalise barely two minutes after Saint Nkhoma opened the scoring for the Chipolopolo.

The Young guns then hit a quickfire double in the dying minutes to collect the points. Influential forward Morgan Kaoma picked up a knock and there is uncertainty in his further involvement.

Meanwhile, Chisamba Lungu(winger) Kelvin Kabwe(Goalkeeper) and Lameck Mwale(Defender) left for the SADC zone six games to beef up the 15-man squad.Roger Kola pulls the trigger in the BP TOP quarter final Clash

The Technical bench were walking a tight rope for the junior Tswana game with only four players on the bench and no second choice keeper.

Meanwhile, the  Chipolopolo U-20 young Queens failed to match their counterparts performance and were beaten 1-2 by a resilient Namibian side. This was a first international match the women under-20 national team was playing in over five months.

Rumour Mill…

Helsingborg FC are after the signature of protégé Roger Kola who impressed the club officials during his trial stint with the club.

Kola’s trials ended mid last week and the striker was part of the Zanaco side that faced Nchanga Rangers last weekend.

SADC games?? What is at stake in this competition? Players and coaches need more incentives. The poor show at all national team levels can be attributed to poor incentives. Hope FAZ has more friendlies to camp and prepare the team. No time to waste for time to act is NOW.!!!

This just goes to add onto what we were saying the last time. How is it that FAZ just cant seem to get logistics right. It seems no matter what, getting any logistics rght cannot just drum into someones thick skull at the fotball house. These boys are all from Zambia, just two borders and a 2 hour flight away and yet we still only have 15 players there. FAZ C’MON!!!!!!

Anyway congrats to the boys, this was an amazing score considering the mess up FAZ has put you in. It shows great heart for your country to still go out and do the job. Ba Zambia iye!!!!!!

Kola finally something solid in the pipeline. I think they will be waiting for January but this is really good news for both the player and the country. Well let me not count the chicks before they have hatched but this news has already got me excited.

Now supposed under 20 had reached Cosafa Finals, how was the team supposed to play Botswana? FAZ was supposed to send two teams or more players, the boys have been playing football almost everyday. Our planning needs to be improved. Kalu and Munaile are letting us down.

Another great performance from our under 20 boys! Who come from behind with 2 second half goal to beat lesotho by 2-1…!! Lesotho scored 1st from the spot. Zambia played da second half with only 10 players after sait nkhoma was sent off in the 1st half, this means zambia will only have 1 player on the bench 2mrrw in their last group match…
