FAZ will not be appearing before the Sports Council of Zambia (SCZ) adhoc committee investigating the heavily criticised transfer of Kabwe Warriors striker Emmanuel Mayuka to Isreali club, Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Association vice-president, Emmanuel Munaile said FAZ had already submitted oral and written statements to the SCZ and saw no reason why it should again appear at the public hearing where the Israel Football Association and player agent Nir Karin have also been summoned.
Speaking at a Press briefing at Football House in Lusaka yesterday, Munaile said FAZ would not attend the public hearing because it had not been called in the interest of football.
He likened the exercise to a ‘fishing expedition’.
“We shall not be party to another hearing over a matter that we have clearly been made to define. We shall therefore not be attending this public hearing because it is not being called in the interest of football, but has become more of a fishing expedition than anything,” he said
He, however, said in an event that some of its submissions came up in the public hearing, the association was ready to stand by its earlier report, adding that for now it was not necessary for FAZ to attend the public hearing.
He said as far as FAZ was concerned, the Mayuka matter had been laid to rest after making the verbal and written reports to the SCZ on the disputed transfer of the international player.
“We would urge those with proven facts and records to submit their information to the committee that will sit to hear this matter. As an association we have nothing to hide. Why should we go back there? What are we going to say?” he said.
Munaile, who is the FAZ spokesperson, said the international transfer process was well defined by world soccer governing body, FIFA, and instituted by its affiliates and that the association had been informing the soccer mother body about the Mayuka transfer.
He said FAZ was a supreme organ responsible for administering all football matters in the country and it did its work professionally in line with the laid down rules and regulations by FIFA.
SCZ recently appointed its board member, Elliot M’hende to head an ad-hoc committee charged with the task of ascertaining whether Mayuka was properly cleared to join Tel Aviv.
M’hende said FAZ and Warriors who disputed Mayuka’s international transfer certificate will be the first to be interviewed during the hearing set for National Sports Deveopment Centre (NASDEC) in Lusaka.
The Israel Football Association, Tel Aviv, soccer agent Nir Karim and all the people mentioned in the transfer report have been asked to appear on Saturday while Sunday has been reserved for members of the public with vital information linked to the transfer dispute.
M’hende refused to comment on FAZ’s decision to stay away from the hearing, saying there was nothing from the association on whether they will be attending the hearing or not.
“Until we get something in writing, we are not able to comment,” M’hende said yesterday.
The FAZ vice-president also announced that the FAZ disciplinary committee would sit this Saturday to review all outstanding cases in the league including the KCM-FAZ Premier Division match between Nkwazi and Nkana which was abandoned at the weekend.
He further dispelled reports that national team players were not paid their winning bonuses after beating Angola 1-0 in Luanda in the African Nations Championship qualifier at the weekend.
On the promotion of Choma Eagles to the Premier Division and whether they would be moved from Southern Province to Kabwe, Munaile said it entirely depended on Eagles’ sponsors, Zambia National Service.

There goes Munaile being arogant and defensive again. He all of a sudden feels like such a hot head sitting in the vice president seat. He now thinks he has got capacity to call the shots on the Mayuka matter. If anything dodgy comes out and he is fired this is the sort of fool that would say SCZ does not have the power to remove him.
This guy is a product of one of the most pathetic FAZ administrtions ever, the Kasunga administration. How on earth did some people find it fit to vote for him again???????
Now look, here he is arogantly defending nonsense. Sometimes you wonder on the level of interlect of some of these guys. Maybe an IQ score should be done on some of these chaps before they assume office.

I made a posting some time back that there is more than meets the eye in FAZ. I hope i am bieng vindicated. I think now is the time to crack the whip NSCZ. The Basketball leadership was suspended, and i cant see why football which is more in disarray cant. Yes, FIFA will issue a warning about interference blah, blah, but remember a ‘stitch in time saves nine.’

Is there some benefit of Mayuka moving to that club in Israel?.If its for the good of the Player and Zambian football, then there is no need of us having a conference to talk about this.I beleive,SCZ & Ministry of Youth Sports should use funds of such occasions to buy balls & other equipment to distribute to all Basic schools and communities in Zambia so that out of that,we might produce ‘another
Mayuka’.Lets from how West African Countries help their young players move abroad!.

Jimmy the boys are out…i dont understand the maths here, coz there was two groups.

I thought the NSCZ will look at the submissions they asked for from the parties and make further investigations with other stakeholders instead of holding some genocide-type triburnal court? Or was my assumption wrong and things are done differently by the NSCZ? We want to know what has come out of those investigations instead of having some beauty parade!!!! How long has it been since they started doing the investigation?

Jimmy like Mphatso says the boys are out.Only the top two in the two groups qualify to the final.
Though there is confusion in the reporting Daily-Mail,Times of Zambia & some South African media like Kickoff.com are all reporting that South Africa is through to the sem-finals where they will play Zimbabwe.
Meanwhile Zimbabwe & Malawi had a coin toss as both teams were tied on 7 points & same goal difference.Zim won the toss. This tournament is a shumble how do you get only two teams to qualify straight in the Finals when you have 12teams divided 6 in each group of two?? To make matters worse the determine the fate of a team by a coin toss!!
All this could have been avoided it they had Zim,Malawi & S.A & Zambia went into the semis as the top two teams in each Group.Anyway thats what happens when you don’t host. The Hosts will always call the shots & the rest jump to what is said.

Big Steve wansekesha mudala. You’ve made my day.
Actually what you have said is what I had in mind about this arrogant Munaile. Thats one problem we have. We put the wrong people in delicate positions. People like Munaile, he does not have football administrations skills. Just becuase one kicked a ball does not meanhe can be a football administrator. What fishing expedition? If you were involved in the transfer scandal, you are in trouble Munaile. Why defend yourselves before even the hearing. This man, no wonder he looks like that. For sure Ba Wille, FAZ is the biggest culprit in this wrangle. I think we have wrong people running football in Zambia. While I respect Kalusha, the less I say about him, the better.

Jimmy i just found out that Mozambieque will play Angola in the other semi-final game. This is better than just having two teams straight into the final.
This means they were more than two groups in this tournament?? Though initially we were told something different.

Here is another tranfer saga from another Zambian player. Ala bwafya banensu.
Hachilensa fined R50 000
Posted: 2008-12-04 10:36
The long standing dispute between Free State-based First Division clubs Carara Kicks and African Warriors over the services of Zambian defender Clive Hachilensa was settled on Wednesday night when he was fined R50 000 and declared a Kicks’ player.
Like Siphelele Mthembu of Orlando Pirates, the former Free State Stars’ skipper signed contracts with both teams disputing his services. However, there was no indication as to whether the fine was suspended, as was the case with Mthembu.
KickOff.com reported in July that the 29-year-old international had signed for Warriors quoting club director Isaac Tshabalala, but two weeks later the player was reported to have signed for Carara Kicks.
“We even lodged the contract that we have with him with the PSL, who accepted it on the day that we filed it,” Jabu Khumalo, Warriors’ owner told this website at the time.
“Clive signed a pre-contract with us after he agreed on terms, but I suppose he then took our terms to bargain for a new deal with Carara. But the reality is that he signed for us first,” Khumalo said at the time.
A Carara source countered that they had already sorted out his work permit and facilitated his international clearance from Finland.
Meanwhile, the DC on Wednesday also fined Jacob Sakala, who coached Garankuwa United before they were relegated, R50 000 for using abusive language towards a match official.

Lets get to the bottom of these transfer sagas rocking our game. Period.

It appears Hon Munaile is scared of something. An investgation can’t just end on a report,a hearing can be one of the tools to get to the truth. If FAZ have nothing to hide in this transfer saga they should respect what the NSCZ are trying to establish so we avoid such situations in future

Hon. Munaile?? Honourable…. my foot.
Matafwali on Thu, 4th Dec 2008 6:58 PM
Sibs, thank you for clearing that up, cause it sure was very confusing.
We have been having this discussion for quite sometime now. Things at Football House have to change and fast. Their decision making causes one to worry. There are way too many issues with the transfers, coach and player selection, camping, stadia, friendlies, I mean you name it and it has a problem attached to it. The NSCZ has been tasked to perform a task. I do not understand Munaile’s stance when it should be the NSCZ that should be suggesting the steps to follow. Is he trying to make his stance known so that if they intended to call him they would be discouraged by his stance? If he did what he was supposed to do why even comment on any part of the inquiry. He should simply be willing to respond in what ever fashion is requested of him. With all these questionable activities, its no wonder the majority of business houses keep their distance from our beloved sport.
Ba Kalu as the President needs to stand up and show leadership before the ship sinks. Instill confidence in those who are willing to invest in and develop the game.
