Power Dynamos registered a league double over archrivals Nkana in the Kitwe derby on Wednesday afternoon in a rescheduled league match by thrashing the neighbours 3-0.Click here for league table
With Green Buffaloes losing 1-0 to Zanaco in another rescheduled match, Dinamo now move to second on the log with two rounds of matches to go.
In a hotly anticipated fixture, Zambia’s own version of El- Classico, Power 90 got their goals from Elson M’Kandawire who scored a brace and Joseph Sitali.Early this season a Kennedy Mudenda thunderbolt gave Power a 1-0 victory in the first derby match after a three years absence
The Times of Zambia wrote
As Power fans celebrated their team rise on the league chart, Nkana fans reacted angrily to the loss and almost vent their anger on other supporters when they started throwing stones any how, until police moved quickly to restore law and order.
While Power were marching forward, Nkana sunk deeped into relegation waters, and will need to win their last two matches to have a raslitics chance of avoiding the drop to Division One.
In a match Nkana needed to win just as Power had to, it was the Ndeke Township side that prevailed over their Wusakile counterparts on this sodden pitch in Zambia ’s fiercest derby that saw Power’s Lameck Mwale hospitalised after suffering a concussion.
Wednesday’ s Results
Nkana 0-3 Power Dynamos
Green Buffaloes 0-1 Zanaco

Sad reading to any Red blooded Kalampa fan.It will take a miracle to survive this one but miracles do happen after all.Gone are the days when we were untouchable & used to have 7 to 8 players in the National team.

Looking at the league table, all the teams from positions 9 to 16 are not very safe as they are all relegation threatened. The remaining games will be crucial for the 8 bottom teams. The table looks somehow congested. The best Nkana can do is win the remaining games.
As for the top teams, I am happy for Power Dynamos. We have atleast a CB team on the top there. Atleast they have a chance to play continental football next year. What is worrying is that none of the top teams representing Zambia at CAF champions league never even reach the group stages. Even if Zesco wins the league and represent us, they will just be eliminated in the first or second round.

Nkana should use home ground advantage as the remaining two games are at Nkana stadium.
10 Dec, Nkana vs Green Eagles
13 Dec, Nkana vs Young Arrows

Mbesuma ‘still has work to do’
Posted: 2008-11-27 10:53
Kickoff.com
Mamelodi Sundowns coach Henri Michel has urged Zambian striker Collins Mbesuma to work hard on improving his physical fitness in order for him to be considered for team selection.
Michel has denied Mbesuma game time since taking over the reins at Sundowns with the French coach preferring to play Dario Monteiro, Katlego Mphela and Lungisani Ndlela in recent games.
Speaking to KickOff.com after the Absa Premiership game against Orlando Pirates at Super Stadium yesterday, Michel said Mbesuma is still far from the physical fitness level that will bring him into contention for a starting line-up position.
“He is not fit and his physical condition does not allow me to play him at this moment. He is a quality player who can score goals for us, but he must work hard on his physical fitness.
“At this stage I don’t know when he is going to be ready to play; it might take some weeks for him to get to where I want him to be in terms of fitness.”
Mbesuma’s fitness has been a worry since joining Sundowns this season.
The club’s executive director of football, Ted Dumitru is on record in the past as saying that the Zambian striker is fit to play, so it is surprising now that Michel has come with a different view and referred the player back to the club’s fitness trainer, Florent Motta.
Michel also disclosed to KickOff.com that his new assistant coach is due to arrive at Chloorkop soon.

I think Mbesuma is just finished. Its not the question of fitness. We should differentiate between being fit and being finished. The guy is finished. Period.

Thanks Billy for the Info on Mbesuma i also think the Sundowns front line has alot of work to do.Apart from the Mozambiquean chap Monterio the rest like Ndlela & Mpela look very ordinary Mbesuma included. The guy still looks big.Maybe the bro needs to go on vergies strictly.
The only game i think Mbesuma did well was his first game in Sundowns colours against Chiefs though he got tired at the end.He surely game Chiefs some problems.

Sorry last line should read surely gave Chiefs…

Nkana has a minimal chance of survival. If we bit Green Eagles and Young Arrows at home or draw with Arrows and hope for the worst for Nchanga, Chambishi, Konkola, Roan and even L Dynamos, we can survive. I guess Zambia/Chipopolo survives with such kind of mathethmatics. All the best Nkana!!!
Kachisa on Thu, 27th Nov 2008 12:35 PM
Lets go power 90,however the riots are a sad development to Zambian football, which seems to be taking a nose dive.
Kachisa on Thu, 27th Nov 2008 12:39 PM
As for Nkana, the once lion of jungle of Zambian football, the club needs a lot of help especially from the so called mining companies!!!!!!Mopani where is your social responsibility????????
Mphatso on Thu, 27th Nov 2008 1:16 PM
I think Nkana can still avoid relegation after all. I am confident kalampa can beat arrows and eagles at home.
