Even though Mamelodi Sundowns continue to down play the issue of disciplinary problems in their camp, KickOff.com has learnt that midfielder Benedict Vilakazi and striker Collins Mbesuma have missed several training sessions at Chloorkop.
Sources at Sundowns revealed that both players have not been at training this week and are not part of the team’s trip to the Free State this weekend where they face Ea Lla Koto in an Absa Premiership game set for Charles Mopeli Stadium tomorrow.
The source told KickOff.com that Mbesuma had a meeting with new coach Henri Michel last week and the Frenchman told the Zambian hitman that he didn’t stand a chance of playing for the Brazilians until he worked on his physical fitness.
“This is also not the first time that Vilakazi has missed training. He did it last month but was still included in the squad that played at Super Stadium. Both Tso and Mbesuma have not been at training this week.”
“Mbesuma could be frustrated after what the coach told him last week. But it is surprising because both Trott Moloto and Ted Dumitru have been singing praises about his fitness level at training and during games.”
Sundowns’ communication manager Mahlatse Mphahlele has confirmed that both Vilakazi and Mbesuma, among the two highest paid players at Sundowns, have been absent from training, but added there were ‘good’ excuses.
“Vilakazi has been sick the whole week and therefore has not been attending training this week.
“Mbesuma was on national duty with Zambian national team, but I am not sure if he did attend training this morning.
Mphahlele was unable to disclose the nature of Vilakazi’s illness.
The Brazilians were also in the spotlight this week when club PRO Sammy Mashabane blasted club officials in a radio sports show, saying that they were ‘incompetent’.

Mbesuma is talented enough to make it somewhere else. You are not always going to feature in each and every coach’s plan, however, discipline is tantamount to success. I hope Mbesuma realizes that. If there’s still a question about his fitness, he really needs to take this advice seriously.

Mbesuma should not get frustrated with what his coach has just told him. He should use that as a challenge to work hard and show his coach that he is still the best. Infact, he should work hard and show his new coach that he can score 40 goals in one season. Any new coach comes with new ideas. What is important is just to understand what a new coach want and embressing his ideas in your style of play.

Mbesuma to much chasing women and beer. Ted Demtru and Moloto showed alot of support for the young man. He thinks he should be treated as an EGG.

My Man Mbesuma, its not too late, U can catch up form, but remember descipline is key to whatever u do. I thnk personaly I like your prowess when you’re in your full form, but am tired of hearing of yo late reporting for work all the time? Please, you came with a bang, you can still maintain it and prove to the world that your going to Europe was not realy a fluke!

Gents believe you me at the Brazilians once a player starts getting comments like this thats it for him. This club has a tendency to finishing very good and promising careers. Mbesuma should take exmaple from players like Lungisane Ndlela and Carlese, they joined and it almost ruined them. carlese has since moved on and is now playing regular first team soccer, as for Ndlela it is even hard for him to just make the bench at the Brazilians. Mbesuma should move on, he actually needs to move on. maybe if he had something like 5 to 10 games under his belt, the match fittness would come back or start coming back and he would be able to see were the goal is. Mbesuma sticking it out at the Brazilians will not up his career, he needs to move. he should really think about what is best for him this January.

Dear Mbesuma. U can still come back to life. Look at Nikolas Anelka. He was almost forgotten on face of soccer in the world. But now I dont need to emphasise waht he is at Chelsea because we are all able to see.
Prove to your new coach that you can still score goals like you did some few years ago.
Pliz, can someone ask Mbesuma’s manager and agent to tell the young man that he can still do it?
Its never too late Ntontofo.

Guys Mbesuma is trying his best, i dont think he would be playing around with life that way..he knows that he didnt do much in terms of school and that he has gone to UK /PORTUGAL/SOUTH AFRICA beacuse of football , if today his left leg is broken then his will be a fool telling stories that he once was..some of us have gone back to school to even get higher and better qualification in order to stay afloat…

I saw Sundowns playing last night and Mbesuma was not in the line-up nor was he on the bench. And he is not injured.
Shame indeed. Hope we shall get a fit Mbesuma again one day. I hope he has not gone over hill and he cannot get back ever.
