Zanaco midfielder Chisamba Lungu(pictured below in jersey 10) who missed the Africa Youth championship qualifier against Egypt has been recalled.
FAZ communications officer, Erick Mwanza, who released the names in Lusaka yesterday, said the team would go in camp soon.
Mwanza said strikers Fwayo Tembo, Rodger Kola, Emmanuel Mayuka and midfielder Stopila Sunzu have not been included because they have graduated to the senior team.
The team:
Goalkeepers: William Chibale, Kelvin Musonda
Defenders: Michael Katongo, Jimmy Chisenga, Derrick Mwansa, Evans Musonda, Saint Nkhoma.
Midfielders: Musonda Munaile, Henry Banda, Chisamba Lungu, Nathan Sinkala, Morgan Chewe, Morgan Kaoma
Strikers: Yorum Mwila, John Chingandu, Lameck Tembo and Morgan Chewe.

I agree with mabbwana because it is from these junior teams where they are supposed to gain more experience, confidence and discipline. The striking force picked is too blunt to exclude the trio who are future goal machines in making. How do we blend them to required striking quality? ANS – From more game exposure[time] and not by 1. warming the bench. 2. coming on as late substitutes. 3.been used as experiments in crucial games. Recall atleast one or two for fire power sake. weeelee!!
Graduated?????!!!!!!!!
I totally agree with all of contributors above. This is an argument that just does not make any sense. Like Mabbwanna pointed out, we suffered for it against the Ivory Coast. Mayuka and Kola have struggled in the senior team when matched up against quality opponents. Additionally, they made little impact against Egypt’s U20 squad, so I do not understand this rationale. These players need as much exposure (international) as possible. It’s not like we have been dominating COSAFA at this level that much anyway. What is the Technical Committee (or bench) there for if they cannot make these types of arguments?
I hope if they have graduated, then they have graduated to the Under-23 but is there any competitions to play for in U-23 with the Olympics being so far away in 2012, so maybe senior is right. I don’t mind that they have graduated if there is nothing major to play for at their level anymore and given other factors aswell (it was only when there was everything to play for against IC that you wonder).
If you think Kola and Mayuka in particular and to some extent Sunzu have been extremely busy this year. All the guys from the youth cup in Canada 2007 have been actively looking to build on there success. We’ve all been expecting allot from them in all these matches that they have played, whether they have delivered or not is up to peoples opinion, but maybe it’s time to let them get on at their clubs and not call them back for Cosafa under-20’s.
I’m all for working players hard and having opportunities, but there is an issue here and i’m not saying it is the case, but we have to very careful and watch out that players aren’t getting burnt out!!! i think It’s ok aswell, because we can see what positives might come out from above list of players, someone will have to play the role of Mayuka, Kola, Sunzu and Zulu, so they will also get a chance to shine and that will be a good thing.
I think its fine to leave out the mentioned players for the SADC games coz these are tournaments where we need to develop the new players.Let Players like Kaoma go and shine, just like we discovered Sinkala,Felix and the others through these tournaments.
