Sichone fails to agree terms with Mainz 05; Opts for a 3rd division side

September 5th, 2008

Controversial former international defender Moses Sichone is believed to have signed for struggling German third division side VFR Aalen. Aalen is currently placed 17th on the log after just five matches played so far.

VFR Aalen sacked their coach last week and employed former Germany World class defender Jürgen Kohler. Kohler won(as a player) the World Cup in 1990, Euro in 1996 as well as Uefa Champions League in 1997 with Borussia Dortmund.

Sichone cut off his trials at Bundesliga 2 side MSV Mainz 05 yesterday after he failed to agree personal terms with the club.

According to a Germany website(Click here), the 31 year old demanded that he should be in the starting line up whenever he was available for selection but Mainz 05 Coach Anderson (also coached Sichone at Kickers Offenbanch last season), refused to guarantee him that.

In addition to that, Sichone’s manager put pressure on Mainz management to offer his client a contract without even accessing him fully.

This is second scenario in which Sichone has failed to agree terms with a club. In July, the ex-Chambishi and Nchanga Rangers defender refused to sign for another Bundesliga 2 side St. Paulis.

It is believed Sichone rejected St. Paulis’ offer(wages) as too little and went on to train with top flight side VFL Wolfsburg.

Since Sichone is a free agent, he can even sign outside the transfer window.

guys from SA, at his age he should more than demand his fair share of play time, remember what Felix complained about?

big mo has been in europe long enough to realise that at div 2 level he should be aregular starter.

nice work Big Mo, atleast we know its not about the money

Fair comments from all of you guys above especially Big Steve. This should give us an indications of how some of these Zed sons behave before we blame innocent coaches and administrators.

To demand to play always, be sighned before he is assessed fit in addition to the fat pay. We surely should not have anything close to this in our national team. I don`t want to believe this story that is too demandingful of Sichone is true.

When all is said and done Sichone is still our Zed son. The least I can do is wish him well as a Zambian. Goodluck Sichone ,as much as I may not like your choice of a club ,I honestly wish you happiness and satisfaction with your newly found club. keep your eyes on the ball all other things will work out well.

Gents, we have always said it about Moses that he is too pompous. The guy cant tell that he is now old and there is over his prime and some of his demands will surely not be granted.
Infact, I do believe that Division 3 is where the guy belongs and not the Bundesliga proper. If he is worth his salt, he would have found a team already but ending up in Div 3, is what I can call being finished.

You people who have been calling for this guy should now realise to say you were playing history, names and not Moses’ current form. Good luck in Div 3, maybe you can prove yourself to get to a Div 2. Moses has done a quick Mbesuma, from top to bottom, Portsmouth, Maritimo then Bursaspor to Sundowns. Come on Zambians, Cologne, to Div 3. Well best of luck.

he’s playing and that’s the important thing, it’s either that or coming back to Africa and trotting around and being greeted with doubt over his age and whatnot. A man has got to do, what man has got to do…

On the case of demanding starting line up… maybe that is to much to ask, especially to coaches who crave control over their squad. I think it’s fair to ask to be in the first team though!!!

Big Mo knows what he is doing. That’s why some of our players join clubs and spend seasons without featuring in a single match. At the end of it all they are either loaned to low class clubs or have their contracts terminated.

    Bravo Big Mo!

Even if it is knowing your worth. Division 3, is degrading himself. Hope it is not true, Division 3 guys is too low. He should turn down his demands. How does he expect to get back to Division 1 and age is catching up with him. I rest and wish him all the best.

I love the guy very much but his attitude on this issue has made me to wonder.Usually professions in big teams are rested on the bench aswell. But for our man shud put that into consideration. The way I know Zambians we are humble but this kind of attitude it is making me to wonder. It s my wish that our big mose finds someone like personal advicer, unlike the way he is behaving. He ia a very gud player but football it goes also with discpline.Otherwise very soon our man will stop football at that age. When I look at Tana,he is old but wht has made me to reach this far it is discpline. It is for this reason I love the guy.Ba Moze we love u,all we ask from u is humbleness.Ba Kabole help our guy since u know how much u helped him at club lavel

i think he knows what he is worth.it shouldnt be a way of desperation but clud and player should meet in the middle and agree terms.these white countries are known for underrating black african players.Sichone go and aim higher then who knows even bayern may sign you
