we dont organise friendlies with ranked teams. If we continue playing amateur teams- we will continue dropping. Gabon is ahead of us, i cant believe it.

Firstly , good to know linos has sorted out issues with Bay united I had been wondering where he was when Bay were playing last week.

On Zed dropping on the FIFA ranking, it was expected after playing amateur teams we surely can`t expect an upward movement. Interesting to note though, that Congo DR who beat Togo are just above us going by the top 20 ranking as provided by Anonymous.

I personally dont place too much importance on the rankings, really dont understand them anyway, Egypt lost to Sudan but still are sitting pretty in the top three, one stroke of luck and you win a friendly could shoot you up a couple of places or one bad hairday could cause you to drop a couple of places so if it just takes one game to get you up or down then I dont see the fuss on these rankings. Lets focus on doing well in the tournaments. Angola and SA 2010 rather than these rankings. I really feel they dont add or take away value of a team.
Good thing Linos is back on track with his team though I hope it was not a “i was top scorer so I should be geeting more than everybody else” sort of argument. We got a different story the other week from the clubs spokes people, they never mmentioned any contractual disagreements just that he had a personal issue in Zambia. Anyway good to see we still have quiet a number of Zedians in the PSL this season.

I also don’t put emphasis on the FIFA Rankings. What matters is the performance/ form of a team on a particular day.Them FIFA Rankings won’t win you any game.I haven’t seen Kenya in the top 15 the are joint Group leader with Guinea in their Group. The deserve to be there.Looking at their form compared to some teams that have been firing blanks in the top 15.

Whats the latest guys on the ground which International players are in camp.

I agree with Sibs and Big Steve. We will just be depressed if we follow these rankings. They dont make sense in anyway. Lets just focus on doing well in the tournaments, thats all. If you look at the top 10 african teams, the same teams are always there even if they are not doing fine. Its like there personal to order positions in the ranks. Only FIFA knows better as to why this is so.

Why havent Zambiafoootball.net made the fact that zambia had dropped aware to all fans like i did above i’v left my name

  10. Nyirenda on Thu, 4th Sep 2008 3:59 PM

Seriously, how does it work Zambia only played Amatuer teams in practice match FIFA focus on international frndlies. Zambia didnt play any so why did we dropped?> if we had stayed in our exact same position last month it would be fair.

In the 2008 African cup of nations Angola beat senegal yet they 3-1 at that time senegal was ranked higher and angola only climbed 2 while senegal climed 5 or 6
