South African based defender Davies Nkausu has been included in the national team squad preparing for next Wednesday’s 2010 Africa/World Cup qualifier against Togo.
Nkausu’s superb form for Supersport United in cup competitions has earned him a call up and his poised to make his long awaited international debut.
The former Manchester united trialist has been capped at international at Zambia under-20 & 23. Nkausu spent six years at South African National First Division Pretoria University before moving to Supersport United.
Chipolopolo Boys trainer Herve Renard is yet to decide whether to include another South African based player Clifford Mulenga and there’s no room for Germany based midfielder Andrew Sinkala.
Renard has maintained the team he named prior to a 10-day training camp in Germany. Major absentees from the squad are Green Buffaloes goalkeeper Mike and the Sunzu brothers, Felix and Stophira. Both Poto and Felix have been ruled out due to injury while Stophira is in France.
Meanwhile Henry Stambouli has resigned as Togo coach just a week before The Hawks visit Zambia at Konkola Stadium in Chililabombwe on September 10.
According to Togo newspaper Actualité on Monday, Stambouli resigned on Friday due to non-payment of his dues for the last two months.
“I have sent notice of my decision to break my contract due to the nonpayment of my wages for more than two months,” the paper quoted Stambouli as saying.
“Even if my wages are paid, it is finished. I will not reconsider my decision even after 50 times. I unfortunately noted that I will not be able to work like that with Togo.”

Mbesuma and Kola would definitely find themselves playing in the latter part of the second half. I know it is a somewhat funny system but from the games I saw Chris in here in SA, sitting riight behind the strickers comes natural for him.

Interesting line ups around abena K.Blades Mweene bench Kakonje starts!
The original article lists Chamanga as clubless. I thought he was with a Chinese club. Anyone have an update? Not sure what my optimal lineup would be. Kola should definitely start given his recent form. He hasn’t missed of late! Go Zambia.
has sichone signed for a club.
Sibs, thanks may man, much appreciated.
Zambian Fan in Atlanta, Chamanga parted with his Chinese Club, he was being qouted by Kaizer chiefs, not sure if deal was closed.

I must say I am a quite surprised at Tana making a lot of line-ups here, guess there a lot of people who think even without speed and or agility in his legs he still has a lot to offer in our defence. Sorry i just cant see it especially after cosafa and the fact that his return to Nchanga still did not come with anything special. maybe its just me gents, I dont know.
Another thing is that except for Nkausu, most of the line-ups here seem to be sticking to the old guns, I think we should always have at the least two players from the new crop in everygame otherwise we are blocking intergration and most importantly development
My line up. 1. Mweene 2.Nkausu 3.Musonda 4.Hichani 5.Mwanza 6.Kasonde 7.Kalaba 8.Chansa 9.J Mulenga 10.Katonga 11.F Katongo SUBS: Kalililo,Chintu,Chivuta,Mayuka,Kombe,Chamanga,Kola,Henry Banda. Mweene has the safest hands to take care of our goal.Hichani qualifies to start aheard of Chintu & Tana coz of his height, agility & fitness.Billy now has some experience & is the most suitable in that role.I like Musonda’s runs in the wing,Nkausu has no match in that role at the moment going by his form in the PSL.Kasonde has the height & strength to stand in for Sinkala in that role & can be a better cover for the line of defence.Chansa is dangerous when playing in the LAMPARD role & shot at longe range at any time.Kalaba should start coz in the absence of Sinkala we need a sharp player to supply killer passes upfront.Jacob is needed for his strength that can overwork & unsettle the Togolese line of defence before the introduction of the unfit but skillfull Mbesuma.Chris Katongo will carry a message from the Defence Forces of playing for the Commander-in-Chief & the Staff Sergent is expected to be in the September 2007 CAPE TOWN mood.Feligo will cause enough confusion to the defence leaving the TSUNAMI unmarked has he will be recording a second hat trick in 12 months.Young Mayuka,Mbesuma & Chamanga can come in has supper subs.GO CHIPOLOPOLO GO
Iyoo mwandini pali analysis pamulu apa. Its good to say what we want about the coming game and squad against Togo. But lets see what the coach and players do on match day. Wina azalila.
