International striker Jacob Mulenga was on target for his French Ligue 2 side Berrichonne Chateauroux in a league match against his former club Racing Strasbourg on Friday night.
Jacob has been leading his side in the absence of the club captain who is out of action. Above the Kitwe born tries to beat Strasbourg goalkeeper in Friday’s match.
Mulenga scored in the 90 minutes against his former employers where he spent a seasonal loan last season but the goal wasn’t enough as Chateauroux lost 2-1, its third defeat of the new campaign while Strasbourg took their tally to 15 points from five games played so far.
This was the 24 year old’s first goal(in 4 games) of the season and his second club competitive goal in exactly 12 months.
Chateauroux has picked six points from a possible 15 points on the table.
And after his outbursts this week, Felix Katongo was one of Rennes’ unused subs in their 2-0 win over Stabaek on Thurday in the second leg of the UEFA Cup.
Rennes booked a tie with Dutch side FC Twente after a 3-2 aggregate in the next round.
Germany
Andrew Sinkala completed 90 minutes in FC Augsburg 2-0 loss to MSV Duisburg in a 2.Bundesliga match played on Friday night.
Augsburg has collected just three points from a possible nine.
Look out for Travis Mills’ Zambian players Abroad Review on Monday.

Wow. At last he has found the back of the net. Hope you will score again on Wednesday next for mother Zambia.
I have a feeling either Tsunami or Ntofo-ntofo will be on target this weekend………………….watch this space.
Guys have you ever thought about playingturning Jacob Mulenga into a centre back. Wenger turned Kolo Toure into one. Kenneth Malitoli played a centre back against Nigeria in friendly.
Jacob is tall, physic and has the stamina but to fair to him, he is not a natural goal poacher. Try him as a defender in friendlies matches -not against Togo please-see how he plays.
Whats ur opinion guys?
Kalampa ni devil may be you are right. I don’t remember though Keneth Malitoli playing as s defender may his brother Mordon. All I can recall is the late hot shot Ashious Melu who transformed from a striker to a defender, also Philimon Mulala at Mighty Wandereres transfromed froma right back to a right winger. I guess Jacob can make a good center back. A part from his physic, he also has speed. I know renard is ambitious he can try that, just as he is transforming Noah Chivuta from a midfielder to a left back.
Jacob is not that bad guyz if only he could learn ball control, in five years time he can be as good as drogba
cris katongo scored 4 his club on 9th minute but they went down 4-2 v hambourg its good 2 see him score in bundesliga.
congrats tsunami and jacob . Did you watch how clifford tormented the santos defence? He hammered a cracker of a shot beating the goal keeper only to hit the upright resulting into a corner which was converted into a goal. The moment of the game was when he was brought down in the box for a penalt which gifted them a second goal. The commentator was full of praise for the wing wizard describing the penalt incidence as a matter of experience. I only hope he brings his form to the national team on wednesday. Weelee
From the picture the goal that my man Jacob Mulenga scored looks like a penalty. Can someone clarify that for me.
i think it was a header.
Scoring is what strikers are called to do so when he scores it will not surprise us but if he doesn’t then it worries us
Mabbwana, part of the reason Sinks is not in the team is Kalu. Sorry to be so blunt but I say it as it is.
Chikumbi, 5 years?? R U 4 real???
I am not sure Jacob has the skills for a defender but his driibbling and ability to spot other players would make him good for the engine room, central midfield in my opinion. One things for sure he is gauranteed to unsettle any defence and if he could do this from midfield he would get the recognition he deserves. He scores way too seldomly for a stricker both at club and National level. I agree with the point that his positioning maybe wrong altogether.
He was such a good player striker with dazling turns as a school boy and at Afrisport I still think he can do much better.
Good he scored,he really needs to do so especially as a sriker who is also captain for his team there can not be a better way of leading the team.
Tsunami, make this the begginning of goals galore, congrats my man!! sad your team lost though, 2 draws and 1 loss is not so bad for a season start. Your are still well within the period were one win could shoot you to the top of the table or just about. We know you have the capacity to shock the germans keep it up!!
