Boyd Mwila’s hat-trick sends Orgryte to top of the table

August 19th, 2008

by: Travis Mills

Boyd Mwila’s three first half goals, all within 15 minutes, led road attack for Orgryte in a 3-1 victory at Degerfors.

The former Chiparamba Great Eagles striker opened the scoring in the 25th minute as he was able to run onto the end of a longball from teammate Pavel Zavadil and slot the ball inside the left post.

It was only a mere four minutes later when former Swedish International Marcus Allback found and open Mwila off a free-kick, which Boyd calmly finished.

Ten minutes later, he finished off his hat-trick, capitalizing on a mistake by the defensive unit of the home-side, finishing off his 6th goal of the season.

Consequently Mwila, who was part of the national squad as a 20-year old from 2004-2005, won man of the match honours.

The Swedish leagues are on break until mid-october, with 20 of 30 games gone in the season, Orgryte have a 2 point-lead in first place, and are tipped to win promotion back into the Allsvenskan for next season.

Let’s monitor our boys; they seem to be doing fine but our national team is not there yet. Try them and see if they can add value to Chipolopolo.
